Watched today's episodes and I can't really blame CXZ for abandoning LMT like that for his unwanted wedding. I mean, like he said, his life is already predetermined a certain way. He's a Wang Ye who's entitled to have a harem. Who is she to have him all to herself? He has a lot of pressure, lives, and enemies to take care of. He can't just play house with LMT all day. Yes, it's his fault in the first place but he didn't think he'd catch real feelings for her. He did try to persuade her in being his concubine to keep her. I know...selfish, but at least he respected her decision to never be one or a second wife. Plus, at this point, he doesn't LOVE LOVE her yet. He cares for her, likes her, is happy around her, but he doesn't know how much he loves her yet or it hasn't gotten to that stage yet. He's still choosing his duty over her for now. But wait until they...if it's in here...maybe then, he'll risk anything and everything for her. He won't ever be with anyone but her. He'll finally understand that harem of 1,000 concubines can't even compare to 1 LMT, the woman he loves. So far, it's too early to see him love struck. He still has responsibilities besides love. He'll fall deeper in love with her when she's 100% herself again.
I enjoy them being together in a simple daily life right now that I don't really want to hasten the angst yet. Once she finds out the truth, there are probably going to be less scenes of them together due to all of the politics, enemies, and stuff. Chinese drama formula is usually like that. The first arc is usually when the leads have the most time together. They living under the same roof and sometimes, it's not enough, I need more of them. Haha. I want more sweetness! But of course, the story has to keep going and I hope we see more cute scenes!
After so many fast paced dramas like The Double and Dashing Youth, I need a good breather. I'm glad I found comfort in this drama. It seems like this generation of drama watchers are always in a rush to go somewhere and may not appreciate the slow burn romance that is thoroughly done. The story is building quite well, the chemistry is on target, they're falling in love, it's actually pretty good pacing. Hopefully, better when the romance really sets in. The acting is sooooo good from both leads. The humor may not always be everyone's cup of tea because it's not slapstick comedy. It takes some understanding to find it funny. And someone said CXZ's plan is sloppy. Well, that's the beauty of this story. He's not a master of lies. And even if he was, no one can control how wild lies can become. We get to see the BTS of lies, the liar, and the consequences. ππ I've always found WCR to be pretty good with her emotions ever since Oh My General although her type of beauty isn't my taste. But she has matured up and she's growing on me. I really enjoy the leads in here.
I don't know who LMT was before but I feel so sorry for her when CJ purposely made the carriage fall and didn't even host the banquet with her. That was a HARD and embarrassing fall in front of everyone, but she was such a fighter, got right up, and the show carried on. LMT is such a sweetheart. She's very lovable so far.
After six episodes and I'm really enjoying this drama. I like the pace; it's not too slow but not too quick either. I hope that once they fall in love, we'll get sweet and romantic moments but for now, the comedy, awkwardness, and getting to know each other is keeping me fully entertained.
It's hilarious to watch CJ married to LMT. As smart as he is, he's never been married or lived with a woman or cared for one as a wife before, so the struggle is REAL. Hahah. She's SOOO sincere and devoted to him that she ends up being super hurt when he doesn't understand, protect, support, and comfort her like a loving husband should be. I REALLY like WCR in here. She's classy, elegant, beautiful, smart, and poised. Her eyes, emotions, to demeanor are all mature, calm, and graceful yet she's full of the right emotions at the right times and doesn't over or under do anything.
ZWY is too charming and funny in here too. I enjoy their awkward interactions and can't wait for them to fall in love.
This drama is realistic in that the leads don't fall in love right away. They are full of logic and reasoning yet special. The FL is smart BUT not unrealistically smart to a point where she solves 10 cases a day and wins every argument she's in. She's humble, good natured, and just wants to please her hubby.
Wow. They're milking us from the get go. π Had to purchase the package to watch the 4th episode. π¬ I probably won't watch it until I wake up, was so excited that I waited for it to drop.
Is Zhou Ye really just 165 cm, 5'4?!! Maybe it's just me but she looks quite tall, slender, and lean. I honestly thought she'd be at least 5'6. ππ₯΄ Not that it matters but some people look their height, Zhou Ye isn't one of them.
