I must admit, Li Meng is such a great actress. She made me feel bad for Wanning in Ep 35. Even though I think…
As much as I loathe SYR, LYQ is such a good actor. He's able to play so many layers. I pity him yet hate him yet find him so interesting because he's soooo human. His flaws and mistakes are grave but he's just as smart as XFF. No wonder they fell for each other. Haha.
Li Meng's scene with SYR in Episode 35 was so darn good! Her pain, her tears, coming from HER, was amazing! I really enjoyed this scene so much. What she said about her baby versus her life. Wow!
Right when I saw her twirling and dancing like that in the first episode, it was evident that she was a trauma survivor. She literally looked the part from the first moment without knowing her at all. I don't condone her actions either but Li Meng's acting is also SOO TOP NOTCH! She plays the two face card so well, so calm, yet when she's concerned about SYR or her brother, Lord Cheng, her face changes into genuine sincerity and love.
The Double didnt make much promotion, and what a smash hit it is ! - Almost every one who watch it love it so much…
The biggest factors for the success of The Double are the screenwriter and director. They know how to produce a fast paced thrilling ride for the audience. Without them, the drama would fall apart even with the same cast. I'm not too confident in the screenwriter and director of this drama, so I hope it's a HUGE surprise.
The Double's screenwriter is the same person who wrote Scent of Time with Zhou Ye and Wang Xing Yue and even then, as much as I enjoyed Scent of Time, The Double is way better.
Although I like Zhou Ye and she shines in certain characters, but she's still weak in some areas. She's good at strong roles but she's so strong, her eyes can't emote deep enough or aren't gentle enough in some scenes. I hope she learns how to let go and just naturally let the emotions consume her.
it'll be fine i guess. the novel fans are mostly satisfied with zhou ye playing as he yan. novel fans in china…
All that boycotting did nothing. She got even more drama offers, been filming back to back with good male leads too, and being first billed now. She has some good backing, all right. But I actually think she's okay.
The drama is so sweet I have diabetes but now I ship the two main characters so hard. How can Zhou Ye and Tan…
I think they did, more Tan Jian towards Zhou Ye though or maybe she's just better at hiding it?!
The Weibo Awards 2023, all those stolen glances at Zhou Ye, couldn't have been any more obvious! And knowing thousands of cameras on him too. Hahah.❤️😬
Imagine believing a review that someone wrote after skimming the last 20 episodes aka more than half the drama.…
For the most part, the writing and directing is to blame, not the cast which is why I always use their character names such as Yaya, Hong Hong, and Dongfang Yue Chu, not Yang Mi and Guo Xiao Ting or Gong Jun. However, as someone who has watched a lot of Yang Mi's work, I don't see why I can't say her acting in here was pretty bad, but pointing that out doesn't mean Yang Mi is solely to blame for this flop. Don't take it too personally.
I did watch the entire drama but not minute by minute. I skimmed, meaning I had certain parts play in 2X, but I didn't skip anything. And even if I did, I can't share my opinion of this drama? I enjoyed it up until the amnesia plot. Just because some of us didn't enjoy this drama as much doesn't mean we hate it. There were certain characters worth watching like Dongfang Yue Chu and I actually liked the second couple.
Yes, CGI is good. Costumes are good. Aesthetics, on point. Some characters are likable.
This is no exaggeration or hate but this drama is so bad, it takes skills to mess up this horribly. This drama got absolutely nothing right. The most annoying duo goes to Yaya and Hong Hong and the only saving grace of the show is Dong Fang Yue Chu. I haven't seen such a bad drama in a long time; there's no redeeming factor whatsoever. I'm not even mad or sad about the ending but I'm extremely disappointed that a drama about love didn't show any true, deep, or believable love between the pairs at all. The "love" this drama kept trying to push down our throats with very little scenes and childish dialogue was super shallow and underdeveloped. Can we stop dying for one another and try to love the mundane days together instead? It's actually those ordinary days that are the hardest. The writers are extremely immature using death as the ONLY way to show true love, not to mention over and over again that anytime someone actually dies, there's no impact anymore. This drama had one job and one job only, how peace between humans and spirits can only be achieved through love, yet they failed miserably at the assignment in every way. The ending would've made sense if they did it right but nope, they spent 36 episodes doing nothing. Millions wasted for this?! It's a rude awakening for Yang Mi. How can people take her seriously when she can't even act in an idol drama?! But that's for another day. Finally finished after skimming the last 20 episodes. This drama is a 3/10 for me.
I'm watching The Double too so getting excited for this one but this production doesn't do any promotions like others whatsoever. I hope it's for the better, being all secretive and then bam! Put out an explosive master piece.
Yuechu is the ONLY one who uses his brain. The villains in here aren't even that smart.
I am so embarrassed for this screen writer. Is that the ONLY way the writer knows how to show that two people love each other? To die for each other and transfer powers to one another?! We've seen HongHong and YueChu do that a hundred times yet there's never a really good romance scene between them like normal couples. Like those really good memorable ones. Why?!!! It's so much easier to film cute lovey scenes than fight scenes. I'm so frustrated with this drama but YueChuuu....I'm still here. Haha.❤️🤔
I don't even know where to start with my disappointments for this drama. I'm finally giving up. If it wasn't for Gong Jun as such a cute Yuechu, I wouldn't have lasted this long. There is not a strong enough love story, no chemistry, and now, no scenes of them together. Well, they've had scenes along the way but so much nonsense and wasted time. I'm starting to not like Prince Lai either. 🥲
