Well, sorry to break it, but it is better to show all these details about the Gods now than fill in the show with flashbacks in the future episodes and slowing the drama by miles (as every other xianxia filled with flashbacks)

Yup, also signifies the misson with which they go in - SuSu to help Ming Ye stay god, hence making the black eye turn white, while TTJ to make Ming Ye a demon dragon, hence make the white eye turn black.

Yup, well this is a little different than the novel as XL was not her brother, but a wolf demon who was in love with SJ. XL tho in the novel, never threw his morals, cared for XiWu just as a sister in law and stayed faithful to YBC.
