She could see. The 'blind part in the jail' is cuz its dark with no window so her eyes got bad with no light. Also after she was put in the cold palace, she went completely blind over time from using the jade. Curved jade had to infuse some of its powers so its "Little Master" can hear it. Also she could see on the Tower and when she teleported there to see YBC and TTML. So when she uses the jade she can temporarily see.

She wasnt completely blind for more than couple of days tho. When she uses the WAJ she can see, and then shortly after she suffers the backlash. She was also almost deaf as well first as Curved Jade's voice could not be heard by her, even it noticed it.

Novel was the same tho, her being blind was around the end after she begged TTJ for the Longivety flower. Untill then she was zoning in and out.

As far as I know, he is infected with immortal essence fed with demonic powers. So like a demon cultivator core is refined to pills and given to immortals. That pill kills almost all the experimental immortals, unless that experimental immortal has a good base of cultivation and is advanced in his cultivaton stage (there are 5 or 6 stages, GYJW is on second or third to last, cant really remember but he is strong). So only one who survives this eradical process is GYJW, that can now wield the God-Slaying Sword (or whatever its called lol). He tho is like under puppet spell - does not have clear consciousness and seems to have forgotten everything prior to waking up as a demon cultivator.
