I’ve written a short explanation https://kisskh.at/698285-shen-yin#comment-15573701
I think what everyone who has been throwing explanation to us fail to realise the ending of ALP mess this up quite badly. In ep 41 (last ep of ALP), 32:41, their son said: “mother, you have kneeled for 500yrs”. The son is still a little boy. Then come this one, who supposed to be 100yrs after BJ die, is now a full grown adult. The continuity between the 2 series are not there, hence the confusion that I and many had as we remember vaguely about the little boy at the end, where his parents reunited. And so the story of the ML has a traumatic/sad childhood is bogus????
watch a drama that can bring you joy! xianxia is definitely not everyone's cup of tea
But I’m seriously confused because of the name changes, (not dropping but can’t keep going for now as I feel like I need serious mental strength to rewatch ep 1 slowly, trying to learn everyone name, somehow reconciling whatever in my memory of ALP to have a ground to watch it lol). So for the name change, it’s a valid reason lol (especially for non hardcore fan). A barrier that doesn’t need to be there (they could pay more for the rights of the name but possibly don’t wanna. Or the other party played dirty. You don’t know the truth, idk the truth but here we are at this pickle!)
I am not saying its bad. Its good and i will continue to watch. Love Zhao lusi. But why the heck in most wuxia…
Plot armour/lazy writing yo! Phoenix = no need to explain why she can’t die or die but then can come back. Strong and mighty = stock standard xianxia - hero/heroine starts at the top lol (you were born with privileges)
I just copy my past comment here: ❤ As a novel reader, I noticed the drama adding extra scenes to portray the…
Uh, but we have a back story of how the son has a traumatic sad childhood, when it’s not true? Like within 500yrs, he grow up that much? And SG didn’t vanish? Like TQ would take him to his mom who is waiting by his dad’s time or whatever? I remember something like that? So this sad sad childhood story shouldn’t exist??? Or am I missing something???
lol (I’ll get kicked out of this page for this: SOKP (purely in number sense 37/38 eps keeps me on edge) I like…
Haha, still too painful for me to rewatch it in whole lol. Especially because I love love love the ending of the book where she chased him lawl. If they have done a special episode like SOKP, I could have been much happier lawl
Fair call. Like I understand how you feel. I think for me, knowing the book, the mystery is whether our ML would…
Haha, yes, really depend on our experience with drama. I haven’t seen the other two so can’t say about the mystery element :) these days, not many plots surprised me lol.
I do not understand how Xie Wei is red flag... Like people nowadays are too sensitive. He has a different personality…
lol yup, ppl put the flag down without actually giving the character some thoughts like having mental issues, under influenced of drugs. And they forget this is a journey, and how characters meant to grow, and learn to be better themselves. If everyone started off as flawless white knight, then it would be boring and unrealistic.
