Which king are you referring to - the Jin king(TTJ's father) or Sheng king?
The book does have some graphic, crazy stuffs regarding young TTJ 😖 the birth scene, then how he was holding onto a dead rat as an abandoned baby. And how he was kinda being used and abused by a maid (exchanging xxx for food, but didn’t work out because he couldn’t get it up). He was a full on little devil that no one can love and always be afraid. Especially if they have seen or witnessed his life. But LSS still love and protect him as much as she could, I do love how in the book, he would be like why are you protecting/helping me. And she is like because I’m married to you! Marrying dog, follow dog, that’s why! It was sweet yet funny lol
Novel is up to interpretation of the readers. IMO in the novel, I felt LSS was the victim, so was SangJiu. But…
Haha if you have time, do read the novel, the first quarter of the book, they try to kill each other while at the same time showing off their “lew” self to each other lol

Just need to clarify: no one will attack you because you dislike the FL, many has lol. We ask to understand where you come from :) Regarding the FL, because the ML has everything cleaned up, it makes the FL’s actions very illogical in a sense. In the novel, the ML literally kidnapped her, put her under sleeping spell while putting a spell on her (in modern day, it called kidnap and brainwash lol). That spell made her stab XL who was rescuing her. And XL in the novel is basically your white prince, he’s for the people, righteous, etc, the usual main male lead lol. Because of that, any pity, feelings she has for TTJ got put aside, and she is just focus on her mission because he has proven time and time again that he can’t be trusted, and he can use her at anytime to further his goals. In term of the drama, the immortal arc, and what happened after he die is basically her character growth and redemption which we missed out due to cuts, episode limitations and basically Chinese market can not handle the dark character like TTJ, hence why he got clean up so much. Anyway, your frustrations are not alone, many before you share the sameish sentiments, while many novel readers are not as harsh on the FL :) anyway, love to hear more from you and your thoughts on the drama!

Yea, like I said I really want to watch it but the director, is kinda one of the bad one in term of morality lol. Part of the reasons why this comment section is a bit everywhere is because we know it’s a safe place, where you are welcome to your opinions and thoughts, you can say what you think and no one will harass you for voicing how you feel. You can ask questions regarding other dramas and won’t get shot down by some strange fanatics that rage at you because you wonder if the drama is worth watching lawl (how dare you not trust my idol’s drama! His drama is the best!)
