Like due to most dramas based on a known IP, plus bizzilions restrictions, both in term of creativity and length, there can literally be no mystery lol. (I used to watch TVB series growing up, and once I know they have a cap of 20eps, after 2-3yrs, I can tell/predict when the love arc needs to start! )🙄 Like I’m not even surprised at those harem fight drama 🙄 nor am I even surprised how these business drama is going to turn out. In the end of the day, it’s boiled down to the actor n actress you like, and the quality of the drama. Like the only show that keep me on my seat is silo! Not even squid game surprised me! There was one moment where you can see just about a brief moment where it would be Lu Zhao Yao, but then it fizzled before it gets there, which showcase how she can act each character differently. If you mean “always play the same type of role” because it’s always being a strong female then lol 🤦♀️ let me again remind you of 11 in one and only, that’s not your strong female, is it? And strong female is such a broad role… you are either strong or weak…. You literally boil her down to pick one of the two lol. So doesn’t matter what she pick, it would be always the same role. I don’t see these characters as the same: LSS/YXW was determined, not strong. In many ways, she’s soft and tradition. She thinks because she’s married to TTJ, therefore, she should love and care for him how traditions dictate it (as well as her responsibilities to make sure he doesn’t turn evil). Ning’Er was cunning, and against traditions. Her strength comes from being look down her whole life. She doesn’t want to condone to the traditions that make fun of her all her childhood and made her life miserable. Arsenal military: actually, BL’s role in here is a gentle girl, but also a girl who understands she can’t be weak. She couldn’t be weak in life and death situation. Her love for her country and ppl is what lend her strength. Taking away the war, and the responsibility, she’d be a gentle girl, albeit she will not let guy look down on her because she knew she can hold her own. So if you just meet her on the street, she’d be your average girl.

It’s such a sad state of affairs! Back then, in the TVB drama or HK + Taiwanese productions, you would get 5-7 beautiful actresses, all well known! Pairing with multiple well known hot guys 🤣 And so you get to watch all of them, I miss those days! Nowadays, you only get 1 pair, and it’s 1 famous and 1 rising (mostly unknown).
