Li Xun intentionally said those hurtful words to Zhu Yun to keep her distance from him. Only after he have said those words did he found out that she went through depression while she’s residing overseas. Also, Zhu Yun’s depression was not primarily because of the hurtful words that Li Xun have said but because she was utterly regretful for being incapable of stopping Li Xun from carrying out his revenge against FZJ that eventually ruined his life for three years.

On ep27: Li Xun said those hurtful words to Zhu Yun because he was immaturely jealous and on top of that, he desires to push her away for another time. He admitted that when he confided with his friend; he told Fu Yi Zhou that his prime motive of saying those words was so to not give her hopes because he knows Zhu Yun is once more having hopes for the two of them.

Li Xun loves Zhu Yun immensely that he willingly gave away the Blue Crown app to their senior in order to save Zhu Yun from the punishment. He loves her so much that he pushed himself to learn volleyball despite his broken back. She mattered to him a lot that he travelled to her hometown to spend New Year with her and gave her a dress. Zhu Yun means so much to Li Xun that he’s disposed to take revenge on Fang Zhi Jing on behalf of her. When she told him that she hates FZJ, Li Xun went out of his way to put FZJ to his rightful place. Li Xun loved Zhu Yun so much that he’ll rather have her hate him than have her suffer with him because of his personal grudge against FZJ due to the unfair death of his solitary family. He loves her so much that he’s willing to throw in the towel to GJH in order to keep Zhu Yun’s clean reputation.

Li Xun loves Zhu Yun and honestly, he is quite expressive of his adoration towards her when they are together especially during their college days it’s just that Li Xun is not the type who communicates well especially about his past and his plans unless they already have guaranteed results. The only times Li Xun was utterly cruel towards Zhu Yun was whenever he’s pushing her away.

I just want to point out that Li Xun has never once loved Zhu Yun less. Although there were times where she loved him more, there were also times where he loved her more. They just both have their own means of showcasing their love for each other but it was always mutual between them.

It’s already 2023 but Lighter and Princess remained sitting atop my heart and mind. There’s just no moving on from this series. I’ll be gladly stuck in this rabbit hole a lifetime lol

I had sepanx for almost half a year with Go Ahead and the probability that Lighter and Princess will take that route is high lmao I'm on my long holiday so I will re-watch its entirety as thoughl it’s the first time I will watch it lol so glad that the comment section remained alive ‘til this day.

I'm over 30 kinda old lol so yeah I've already seen and experienced a lot in my age. I've encountered several people who are as straightforward and unapologetic as Li Xun and I myself is also like that thus I can easily understand his point of view. Honestly, there are a lot of people like Li Xun in the working field especially in the corporate world.

Oh, yes. Now that you mentioned it, Li Xun have said the similar thing to the feiyang team when they were working on invisible general but since they work professionally and understand that Li Xun knows better than them they took his words as a feedback rather than a criticism because they know it is for the betterment of their app unlike Gao who from the very onset couldn't fully acknowledged that Li Xun is far more knowledgeable than him therefore everything that Li Xun did and said he took them way too personal.

It slipped in our mind that Li Xun could have actually going through a terrible emotional turmoil (depression to be concise) at that point of his sister's death. He just didn't expressed it like how others normally does because it is his personality to not showcased any weaknesses. Emotionally damaged people who never looked like one nor told others about it are more prone to commit self-destruction and Li Xun was already at that point when he premeditated everything. It was as if he was just going to await his death in the prison until he learned that it was actually GJH who orchestrated everything and that was his driving force to get back up again. Hence he was out of prison in three years. He found another reason to live — to exact vengeance on Gao.

He love Zhu Yun that was unarguable but his guilt for not being able to protect his sole remaining family and the infuriating truth that the law will never acknowledged Fang Zhi Jing as the one who practically killed his sister was bigger. Li Xun was practically sinking in the pit of guilt, pain and self-destruction and he doesn't want Zhu Yun to sink with him thus he cruelly push her away.

What he did to FZJ was unjustifiable but we forgot how immeasurable the pain and guilt he was going through that time that's why Zhu Yun was more depressed for being unable to stop him and pull him up from the pit of pain and self-destruction than being depressed over their break up.

Anyway, it's just my thoughts since I'm already on my nth time re-watching scenes even the painful ones lol

So you agree that what Gao JiangHong did was right even if his action cost a “LIFE” of an innocent person? Lol he basically killed Li Xun's sister and you agree to his action? And for the record, it was Gao himself who ruined his self-esteem since he can't accept the hard truth that he will never hold a candle to Li Xun. So go stop watching the series you're more than welcome to leave.

The flashback will begin on ep2 and will span up to ep22 half of the entire story. On ep23 the story will go back to present time

It's Okay That's Love just hits differently for me equally as Lighter and Princess and also, Go Ahead I almost forgot! Lol these series really has a very special place in my heart. I tried to watch Red Sleeve after it was concluded but since I'm not very into historical series I couldn't carry on watching although I still plan to continue it some other time perhaps

It's Okay That's Love is my all-time kdrama and now L&P ties with it lol I've tried watching Our Beloved Summer but I can't get into it, maybe the story ain't for me but I'll try to watch it again next year

For me it is unarguably worth the watch that it immediately jumped on top of my all-time favourite series. The first episode was from their present lives and by the next episode the story will go back to their college days where everything began. Their romance is slow burn but worth it so I suggest try to watch until 4 or 5 episodes and if by then you still can't find the joy to watch it, the story might not be for you.

I can say a balance of all you have mentioned.

The last time I felt utterly and deeply in love with a series was It's Okay That's Love and finally after 8 years Lighter and Princess made me feel the same way again...

Yup, ditto! Loved how healthy the discussion here. I also can't keep myself from rewatching especially their sweet scenes even during my work break lol and I think this will go on for quite a while since they have a very special place in my heart

I keep coming by here even in the midst of my work lol I dare say this series would be my last series for this year. I have no heart to watch any sort of series just yet I’m still relishing in this series lol

The college days are the most important details of this series because everything started from there. Don't skip it if you really wish to enjoy this series.

I noticed there are kind of two kinds of viewers in this comment section: one who are like Zhu Yun which is the fandom, who initially have prejudice towards Li Xun but as we watch the series we learn that he is more than his rough outer shell and we learn to love him and accept his flaws.

The other viewers are like Zhu Yun’s mother, who also has prejudice towards Li Xun and decided to just see him one-sided; sometimes her point of view is reasonable but sometimes just plain unreasonable and simply finding reasons to dislike him and to prove her point why he's bad news or what others like to label: toxic.

Thankfully, the majority of us are like Zhu Yun who sees Li Xun beyond his unapologetic demeanour.

First, it’s fine if you didn’t like this story, you have your own preference and that’s okay. Second, most of the viewers here, including me, only knew the male lead actor through this show so no the rating is not majority because of him.
Third, the female lead was never part of Forever Love.

He did. He was such a joy to watch especially that he's the only one there who isn't a Dad and he was only 18 at that time.
