Since I'm off work I binge-watched Feiyu’s reality show “Get Smart! Dad!” I absolutely enjoyed it! At his young age he sure already grasped how to be responsible as a father. His maturity was showcased well in that show. And my adoration for this new son of mine is now brimming! I'd like to have a son like him the soonest lol

you have put it very well what i have been trying to convey multiple times. people say he could have pushed ZY…
Indeed. His choice was definitely not ideal but it somehow served its purpose since Zhu Yun left and she bravely managed to earn further education and experiences which gained her confidence. But honestly, I don’t think there is such a way for Li Xun to fully drive Zhu Yun away from him because her faith on him is indelible. Zhu Yun is such a strong-hearted precious girl.

Yes, nowadays I just scroll through comments like that. As another user pointed out, some are just disguised hate…
I agree. Criticism is absolutely fine but by the manner they stated their opinions straightly comes off unreasonable and plain hating in the name of criticism thus it somehow gets into my nerves since Li Xun’s conduct partially resonates in me.

I feel like defending Li Xun at some point against those who thoughtlessly label him as toxic. I'll say this once and for all.

If Li Xun is toxic then the entire human race is toxic.

I am not a fan of toxic ML but Li Xun never comes close to being one. But I must admit, he has an attitude. His conducts were molded through his unfortunate experiences. He has the air of arrogance since he's someone who has lived through hell by himself hence he learned to not need anyone's help. He comes off as rude and uncaring because he doesn't sugarcoat things nor coax others.

Li Xun’s outer shell is indifferent but he's soft and emotional within. Honestly, that is how people commonly behave when they've gone through hell while having no one to rely on. It's hard to trust and warm up with people who you know have no proper understanding about you nor have the intention to really understand you and you have no energy to explain yourself either. He sometimes makes decisions out of emotions, he gets mad, frustrated and yells which is what majority of human in real life tends to do as well.

Moreover, correct me if I'm wrong, but Li Xun never bullied nor harassed anyone neither did he played on someone; he only minded his own business until they did his sister dirty.

Yes, he have hurt Zhu Yun and said words he should have not (which the fandom never tolerated) but he was never toxic to her. I don't remember him angrily yelling at Zhu Yun. He has always talked to her in a calm demeanour even when he said hurtful words to her which he thankfully apologised for. He never blamed her for anything. He never laid a hand on her nor did he ever dragged her around or pinned her to the wall like how predominant of the MLs does.

He only pushed her away because he’s dispose to take justice into his hand on account of the tragedy that befell his sister rooted by two bastards. And I don't think, him, pushing her away, is noble idiocy like others defined it. It's common sense? Like, I mean, if I intentionally did something worth to be jailed I’d be ashamed and would similarly not desire to have someone as precious as Zhu Yun to be embroiled with me that could hinder her from flourishing.

The wrong thing Li Xun did is the manner he used to push Zhu Yun away but then, he's mindful that she will stick with him even through worse thus he chose the extreme and unfair way.

In conclusion, no, Li Xun was never toxic. He just has an attitude because he’s a flawed character just like a normal person is. And having an attitude doesn't always equates to being toxic.

I rest my case.

I was never wrong when I said that this series will be damn good after accidentally watching the trailer. Now, it will go down in my all-time beloved series.

The entire story is ultimately engrossing and added to that is the explosive and scorching chemistry of our couple along with their natural and believable portrayal of their characters and their relationship. They are seriously too good to be true as lovers. This is not simply romance but you'll also learn lessons along the way. Although some characters are infuriating somehow you'll understand their point of view.

I really adore this series that I even paid for youku’s membership, bought the fast track and rated each episodes here in MDL which never did I do in my two decades of watching asian dramas lol

Hats off to my new babies Chen Feiyu and Zhang Jingyi and to the entire crew of Lighter and Princess!

anyone know which episode (without spoilers) they go back to the "present" timeline? like when he comes out of…
According to what most of the previous comments here said it’ll be in ep22: perhaps by the latter part of ep22.

I'm just over the moon that Lighter and Princess, a "Cdrama" is constantly the top trending topic here in MDL because this series deserved it in every sense of the word.

I said I’m prepared for the angst part but I’m now taking it back. After watching them all lovey dovey I don’t think I can bear to see Li Xun hurting Zhu Yun for the sake of protecting her and for the most part, I can’t bear to see them apart and broken hence I’m waiting until ep23-27 were aired. 😭

The first time I watched the trailer, I knew this series would be part of one of my beloved series hence I patiently waited for it to finish in order to binge watch this and I was not disappointed at the very least. I adore this series. I love how the ML isn’t the cold type one rather he’s childlike who knows how to be mature when situation demands for it. I admire Yucheng’s ironclad determination in pursuing his dream and his unceasing adoration for Luo Na. I also love how matured, independent and calm Luo Na is. I love their relationship to bits and how they overcome the obstacles together. I just love this series and even my Mom loved it. It’s a 10/10 for me.

Hopefully this has less to zero romance cause romance in a heavy revenge plot like this only makes the story fall apart

Others judged Seungcheon as if he just simply choose to switch his life with Taeyong, overlooking all the factors that pushed him to commit such a thing. I'll have to laugh at people saying he exchanged a loving family for money when what I've watched on the first episode was a miserable family with a father who couldn't take responsibility for them rather he's stuck in front of his computer drawing comics that can't support his children's education; hiding from the landlord and even letting his wife and children carry the responsibility to make ends meet.

Seungcheon's aloof demeanour towards his family is the fruit of his father's irresponsibility and his mother and sister who never motivated their father to work. I would have understand it if his father was crippled that's why he can't work but no he's all well and physically strong yet he's done nothing to uplift his family's living when that's his prime responsibility.

Taeyong is lucky he never experienced all the hardships that Seungcheon went through, he never saw his father being irresponsible and he doesn't have to work his butt off to support himself.

Furthermore, it's not like Seungcheon completely abandoned his family when the first thing he did upon the switch is to protect them, offer them a comfortable living and free them from the harassment of their landlord.

That happy and warm family you're talking about that Seungcheon exchanged for money only happened when he was a child and when he already switched as Taeyong. So, don't go tossing all the blame on Seungcheon when he has an irresponsible father and a mother and sister who babied their father.

You don't have to agree on Seungcheon's decision but don't recklessly call him greedy who only wanted money and overlooked all the factors that pushed him to ulitise the golden spoon.
