i loved this way more than the first movie

the emperor didn't even punish the people that were involved severely even when our ml brought him evidence so what makes you think that the emperor would have done that even if he was told the truth?

honestly, if the emperor had allowed LBY to investigate the massacre officially and he had severely punished all those to contributed to the massacre then our ml would not have gone down the path that he did. He realized that he could not rely on the emperor to get justice for his family. I would have loved to know why the emperor chose not to get justice for someone that he claimed to love so much who was largely responsible for the creation of the country that he governs now.

I would because unlike her , i do not have abandonment issues. I understand why she could not forgive him because being abandoned by her parents was the most traumatic thing that happened to her in the past and he knew that but still did it anyway. He managed to survive and so did her family and yet he still said that he did not regret his decision of abandoning her, even after he found out that the was evidence that still existed against Ling Yi so he actually was not at a dead end and could have chosen a different path, a path where he trusted her and let her help him get his justice. I get where she is coming from but, i wouldn't have stayed mad at him for that long, I would have cancelled the engagement as well but unlike her i would have gone to see him off when he left for exile and would have told him that when he comes back, we can start over. Then when he came back i would have start over with him , taking things slow, getting to know the real him, the unburdened him.

I had a feeling that they had some kind of relationship because they always seemed to have similar ideals , they usually were on the same side when it came to certain things even though they did not make it that obvious and that is what initially made me wonder. Then when that whole thing happened when NN helped the crown prince and princess when LBY didn't intervene when the crown prince was going to get in trouble and when he talked to his subordinates and even NN about how the crown prince was not really fit to be the next emperor , I was sure that he was secretly aligned with the 3rd prince or at least just thought the 3rd prince was a better option for the role of the next emperor. I also had a feeling that the 3rd prince cared about LBY when he helped the emperor trick NN in order to get her to face her feelings for LBY , he was happy to see her confessing to LBY.

He doesn't know what he did? There is a trailer where he tells the emperor what happened that night. About how he saw Ling Yi murder his dad, so he definitely did know what he did.

well, life is not black and white sometimes, putting yourself in someone else's shoes will help you forgive them. He has done more for her in her lifetime than anybody and I am sure she decided to separate the love they share and his need for revenge and realized that it wasn't about her. As someone who would always take revenge for even the most minor things, she probably also realized that he had no choice but to go down the path that he chose. She probably thought about what she would have done if it had been her family that had gotten massacred and nobody wanted to punish those involved. She probably thought about how she might have also not involved the person that she loved in her plans in order to protect them. I think she was right to end the engagement and I think it was a good thing for them to be apart for that long. I do think that if I were her, I would not have been mad at him after those 5 years because I would have used that time to try and understand his actions. I also would not have easily gotten back together with him but would have decided to just start from scratch by getting to know each other all over again.

That is my point though, maturity has nothing to do with these ppl's ages . Their background and life experiences is what builds their maturity level. So using her age as an excuse for her lack of maturity on certain things is ridiculous because everyone in those days had to deal with similar things as teens so u cant compare a 15 year old back then to a 15 year old in present times.

life experience matures ppl. People in those days had to deal with things that adults deal with now, in their teens. Age does not decide whether one is mature or not but life experiences do, you grow and mature through those experiences.

Also , you say there was no evidence that ppl matured earlier then , so where is the evidence that they didn't? You act like maturing is something that can be measured through a blood test and other physical tests when in actuality ppl mature as they go through life and experience things and since they were experiencing things that in our age are experienced by adults in makes perfect sense that they matured earlier too.

Also, I don't mind her making stupid decisions now at the beginning of all this because I feel like it will help her learn and she will be better at figuring out ppl's real intentions in the palace. Even if our ml explained things to her, I do not think she would believe any of it until she saw it herself. Like when he warned her to stop assuming people are good just because they are nice to her because it's easy for those people to be nice to her if it can benefit them. She brushed him off after he said that and still continued to side with the crown princess so this girl won't listen unless she sees the real face of that crown princess herself. So let her continue till it blows up in her face, then she will learn better.

why do ppl keep bringing up her age every time she does stupid things? Yall realize that back in those days both men and women matured earlier because they were married off and starting families during their teens. They also were getting jobs and fighting in wars as teens so comparing her to a 15-year-old in this day and age is ridiculous. It makes more sense to blame her upbringing.

i am not sure if she has friends in the palace but i did hear that she becomes good friends with her ex (Yao) fiancé's new wife. Apparently her and our ml becomes good friends with Yao and the girl he married ( forgot her name) and our ml even helps them deal with the first family members in Yao's family.

that is true though because some of her actions would not make sense if she was a women in her twenties

oh wow! I don't understand why the female characters who are smart and independent in these historical dramas have to come from the future. Are you telling me that women like them didn't exist in those times, even if they were a minority?
