I love to much this drama, but now this is finished, I just can think, what's happened with the mother, how she…
I think it is a red herring to throw the audience off. I really like this drama a lot but my least favorite thing was this aspect with the nurse/mom stuff.
I don't know how many people I saw mention that they decided to watch Mystic PopUp Bar basically on a whim (often because it was easily found on Netflix). Many ended up being really pleased and pleasantly surprised. This happened to me, and I found it to be a gem of a drama. Not perfect but quite solid. Better to be pleasantly surprised than bitterly disappointed.
Never believe the hype. Expectations kill the drama experience. Also if you watching a drama solely for an actor, pay attention to the writer and PD and set your expectations accordingly. No actor can do more than put in a solid performance. The rest is out of his/her hands.
Take with a grain of salt because my memory might be off, but I thought they said it was 80% melo and 20% thriller.…
Most k-dramas are not pre-produced but are live shot meaning they have filmed maybe 4ish episodes when it starts airing. For example It's Okay Not To Be Okay just finished filming the final episodes last weekend and the drama's last two episodes air this upcoming wkend. Basically they got done a week or so before the final episodes so I'm sure editing and what not is still going on.
This is why so many drama flaws start showing up toward the end. Also dramas will change some focus if some aspect of the drama works better. I like to think not all writers are willing to do this but some do. More dramas are pre-produced than when I first started watching dramas but it is still not the norm.
As of the first two episodes, I see more suspense with a bit of thriller and a bit of melo but definitely check back in. Have you watched Two Weeks? I ask this because the same actor is in that show and it is more action. It's not a perfect drama but it's solid.
The drama was really good and Different for the first 6-8 episodes, after that it became the old Romance drama…
I know some might disagree, but I think giving the PDs the go ahead to have over 60 minute episodes hinders the story telling process. I really like this drama quite a bit but the pacing suffers intermittently since episode 9 and there is a meandering quality that made me realize in episodes 13 and 14 how so many side characters there were and question the necessity of them having the story lines they did.
I worry it will go full on makjang now with the whole who killed mom/is it mom/etc questions.
Sometimes a character doesn't need to have a big purpose to be in the show. I see Jae soo as that one friend that…
But usually there is. The guy's life is basically revolving around his friend and it could be as simple as the writers had more of a plan for this character and they switched it up because of the popularity of the leads. Or maybe we'll find out in the last two episodes.
I didn't see the hospital co-worker being the head docs son at all.
I get what you mean but the pizza guy is the ONLY ONE who takes care of KT without him asking to.. he's really…
I just responded to the previous comment but I'll put it here as well that the drama hasn't really explained why this guy is so dedicated. It is not what even the best of friends do i.e. follow someone around and have little to no life outside his relationship with his friend and that friend's brother. A few scenes explaining this might have helped me get this friendship a bit more. That's all I was saying.

But why? I have a friend who is like a sister to me but no way would she move around the country with me and start up a business wherever I am at. It might be understandable but I have no idea why. I really like this drama so these are just slight frustrations for me. But at episodes running over an hour since the start, I would just like that bit of an explanation because I just don't get it. I don't mind the patients that much but more the side love story doesn't do much for me though I really do like the evolution of the 2 FL.
Again, this is just me and minor issues as this is going to be one of my top five dramas probably of the year if they don't ruin it in the last 2 episodes.
Take with a grain of salt because my memory might be off, but I thought they said it was 80% melo and 20% thriller.…
Yeah, you might check in at the halfway point because it's a live shoot so they can switch it up if the action seems to be more popular. The first two episodes I thought were actually quite good at least for me.
lol i wishlets be real lots of girl prob find the main dude hot like this (the dangerous aspect or whatever)i…
Yeah, people loved LJG as Wang So in Moon Lovers and he wasn't sweetness and light in that either. I have to admit it would be interesting to see the roles reversed.
Really like it so far! This drama made me remember why I like Moon Chae Won as an actress. ^^ Things were just…
I dropped Mama Fairy and Innocent Man and have only seen her in historical where she was good. I like her so far in this show. I know some think she is bland, but I like that she is not over the top.
Do you feel this will be more melodrama or more thriller? Persecution or family discussion?
Take with a grain of salt because my memory might be off, but I thought they said it was 80% melo and 20% thriller. I think it is about this family unit as things begin to crumble.
I haven't always bought into some of the side relationships in this drama. I still don't know what pizza dude's purpose is overall. Ep 13 and 14 didn't do much for me in that regard and we did spend quite a bit of time on those side characters. But this drama knocks it out of the park with character development of the leads and the pacing of those relationships.
I also love when MY just flat out told GT, I am not going to run away but I need some time. Now this is the type of communication I can get behind...and he trusted her not to run away so are we really going to avoid the noble idiocy that plagues dramas. Yippee!
Is it the production company or the writing team? I actually think these last two episodes have been the weakest other than the relationship developments between the three leads.
I have agreat expectations for this drama but after 2 episodes im so disappointed .... i don't know if i keep…
"great expectations"...those will get you into trouble every time. The foundation of this drama is more of a "healing" drama. If those aren't your cup of tea, I'd move on. The tone does calm a bit in the next two episodes.
Of these, I never started Mr. Sunshine which is odd because I like historicals but this just didn't strike me as interesting. Also, Remember (Son's War) because it screamed melo melo melo which is a no no no for me. I dropped K-W and Goblin. The others I enjoyed at various levels but finished them all. The one that I loved as a rom/com was Her Private Life and I think besides the brother thing, the misfire was making it about the male lead's past instead of delving into the comedy of her actually dealing with being a fangirl when she had her own guy. I just have a pet peeve when a rom/com turns more into a melo and goshdarnit it was supposed to be about HER Private Life.
Why do I relate to joong gi's teaching to his daughter so much?My thought direction was similar to him , hahaha.…
Yeah, the teacher ends up being more sympathetic with his daughter because she knows the little girl was wronged. It's no psycho, it's a long-term strategy.
