Comment section is giving conflicting responses about this drama- it is worth it or not? The whole ML playing…
I actually like more intense romances rather than cutesy, and I am going to finish this up but it is a very flawed drama. (And not what I would call intense.) I do understand why people are frustrated. It has a solid start though all the friend stuff, all through the drama thus far, is a big ball of k-drama tropes and plain bad writing. The couple finding their way in work and relationships is why I've stuck it out. So strong first half even with the annoying friends but then, around episode 10 or so it meanders in to meh range. Just depends on how you fill about hitting the fast forward here and there.
I watched Secret Love Affair and this is not really like that. Now that's an intense drama.
I did love the last episode, more breakthroughs from our main leads! I saw that many people found their relationship…
Actually, now that you mention it, it does have a vibe of a J-drama. I will say the J-dramas tend to be in the 9 to 11 episode count. I actually think this drama would have been better with 12 episodes and without all the friend love triangles/squares. I have some issues with the show but still love the main couple.
As much as I hate the antics of the professor, SA needs to realize that she will never be able to perform as a…
Legally, I think family is no longer responsible for parental debt; however, culturally there still might be an expectation that kids will help. This is a bit much and, honestly, I think most would have stayed out of the country if they were in JY's shoes.
While episode 12 was frustrating to watch, I do not find it as lazy writing or writing that is 90’s or 2000’s…
I get what you are saying. I do think the drama has been a little lazy about her understanding that she lacks the talent because she's mentioned it and it has come up throughout the drama. She's done an undergrad degree so there is no way she lacks the realization when she was consistently ranked last. She seems to have understood this from the first but still gets surprised by it. I totally understand she wants to try; I get that but the drama kind of went a little sideways for me when she finished up the summer internship.
Having said that, I actually love the slow moving relationship and everyone's got baggage generally over the age of 23. Life is messy. I think the writer should be happy that the drama has these two lead actors because they've done so well imo and elevated the script.
I cant stand Joon Youngs mother. For fck sake just divorce that piece of sh*t and save yourself and your son!…
There is a Korean actress whose father kept doing this kind of stuff until one of the victims came forward and basically outed the guy. The victims of the financial crime felt bad for the actress wanting to keep it private but said it wasn't fair to the future victims who would have to go through the stress of it all. She'd spent like $750,000 getting her dad out of debt over and over again specifically because he kept using her name to get loans. Never a borrower nor lender be should be a motto in Korea.
Didn't Harvey Weinstein's victims have contracts? There's a thing called a casting couch and what if it starts…
A lot of Harvey's victims were not under contract...they were trying to get the gig, that's where the problems often were. "hey come to my hotel room and let's chat about business". The fact that some women in his office helped facilitate these meetings is something that escapes a lot of attention. They all knew he was a pig. Everyone knew.
If the dude is fine with it, okay. If not, it is just as bad as bad as pressuring a woman into showing too much. I get that this is considered fan service and happens in dramas and in K-pop. There is no doubt a lot more nasty stuff going on in entertainment businesses all around the world, but I started getting icky about the shirtless thing (specifically the slow camera shots) when I started reading more actor interviews and some of them were definitely dreading these scenes while others didn't seem to take issue with it.
The actor from Thor worked out hard to get his body in shape for the movie. He apparently was told by the director something to the effect of, "hey, I'm still gonna do that shirtless scene" and Hemsworth was like, "you better effing believe it" because he'd been working out for 6 months or something. lol
I know that everyone hates Jung Kyung, but honestly I love how she's a grey character, neither good nor evil...…
Kissing best friend of your boyfriend is a crap thing to do, but she seems mixed up and depressed. I will give her this; she didn't dilly dally about dumping the guy. When she decided to do it, she did it and stuck to it even if she did initially take the ring. I'm actually more frustrated that he knows she is not in a good place and he was desperately still trying to convince her into something it is obvious she is not ready for.
I get what you are saying about the amnesia. It didn't bother me as much because I think the writer wanted him…
Yeah, I agree. I thought she should have left to go to Busan because she's an independent woman who is gonna live her life. Still, she doesn't give up on him and sends the journals. He has a scene with Moo Jin who basically tells him, " You say you don't want to hurt her but aren't you afraid that she can hurt you because you actually aren't an emotionless robot? You're a coward just like I was". (Because Moo Jin didn't face up to not telling what he filmed in the basement until years later.) Lightbulb Moment and he goes to his wife and sees his daughter and they'll make new memories even if he never gets the others back ...the end. LOL something like that.
Still like you, one of the top 5 of 2020 so far. Also my favorite unexpected bromance ever. Didn't see that coming at all.
2NE1 and Bigbang were the real deal, I hope they'll make a comeback, but I highly doubt it :(
Big Bang was actually scheduled to perform at Coachella but, of course, it got cancelled because of Covid. That's not exactly a come back album, but they were dipping the toe back in the water. I think they will do another album. 2NE1, not so much which is too bad. I can't stand cute concept stuff so this group was right up my alley.
This was fun. I got hooked on Korean dramas about 6 years ago and started listening to some K-pop around 2 years ago. Netflix has really spread the love of K-dramas and I had a friend recently post that she had enjoyed a few and I mentioned a few others she might like. I watch a lot of Nordic Noir and have am open to Spanish language shows so I see no reason why Asian dramas should be different.
With regard to K-pop, I find that it is the same scenario as Western pop; some solid talent mixed with a lot of generic stuff but with more kind of quirky stuff mixed in here and there. I grew up in a time when people tended to like a lot of different groups and artists so the fan culture of kpop is a little scary, but it would have been fun to be young and try to learn all the choreo to a favorite song.
I overall enjoyed this drama. I could nitpic some things about the thriller aspect and some cohesiveness that I felt was lost a bit toward the end. However, I bought into the story of these 4 people and it was a solid ride. Kudos to all the actors and especially glad to see MCW back where she could shine.
This dramas was amazing. I was hooked since the beginning because os LJG's acting that was fanstastic as usual…
I get what you are saying about the amnesia. It didn't bother me as much because I think the writer wanted him to have to learn to actually trust what he was feeling instead of relying on his memories. I actually get that, but I wish the journey to figuring it out had been a little more clear because he let her go but then changed his mind, and I don't think we fully saw the journey to why that happened. Still this drama worked for me overall and I love the four leads.
Also, on a side note, am I the only one low-key disappointed by Hyun Soo. This drama spent so much time successfully…
I honestly cannot truly recommend A Love To Kill unless you are really into melo. It was also a bit confusing in the beginning as it kind of throws you in. But the writer is known for the melo genre if that is your cup of tea. 49 Days is probably my favorite melo.

I had to laugh because of the "very few k-dramas have the guts to pull off an epic tragedy". That may be true these days but go check out the writer of Uncontrollably Fond. She's famous for her big melodramas. I watched Rain and Shin Min Ah in A Love To Kill with that same writer and I'm still not over it. I think in the earlier days of k-drama they produced a lot of these tragic shows and it kind of got done to death....so to speak.
Is Baek Man Woo the accomplice? I swear he’s freakin creepy and suspicious. If he’s not the accomplice then…
I have completed episode 15 and I don't recall us finding out why he didn't answer the phone other than he put his business first. I could be wrong but I haven't been skipping in this show.
