The first kdrama I watched was Cinderella and the 4 knights. I totally loved the childhood thing,I don't remember…
Usually when they go overseas it's because of some fancy schooling so it is a status thing. I can still remember in Coffee Prince the gal going to Italy for a year or so to learn to make coffee...I mean what the heck.

Agreed mostly. But another part is that many shows seem locked into 16 episodes, and the story is often only worth…
I'll second this. Very few romance driven k-dramas need to be more than 12 episodes. Even with 12, they need generally a side story to keep momentum. There's about 3 to 4 hours of filler in a huge chunk of k-dramas.

i avoid majority of love triangles ans love triangle themeThere was a few drama where they handled it well...and…
If you are talking about Doctors with PSH, I agree. It's one of the few that has done it well.

They did this with Diamond Lover at least the 24 ep cut. I was like girl are you crazy. I was so happy to learn…
Diamond Lover ending up getting extended a certain # of episodes but Rain hadn't been contracted and was not available to continue so they had to change up the story and the 2nd lead ended up winning the lady. I'm going by memory but I think that is how it went down and lots of people were irked but since she ended up marrying that guy irl it all worked out !

I didn't think anyone could dislike love triangles as much as me, but I'm seeing the complaint more and more. I don't actually suffer from SLS. I won't let myself because I know how it all ends. I agree with all of these 4 items. I call the last one "instalove". I watch romances to see a couple fall in love and watch the progression of the relationship so the "instalove" is a cheat.

I had absolutely no expectations about this drama and started watching because it was on Netflix. I actually am really enjoying it. It has managed to build a world that I understand as well as have a few really solid emotional moments that I wasn't expecting. Everyone is doing a great job so far. Watched 4 episodes in two days.

I enjoyed 85% of this drama. Episode 15 was just blah and I think the ending of the drama could have been fleshed out better, but it was an overall solid show. I enjoy that it really didn't have much in the way of a love triangle. One of my favorite moments was the male lead giving his mom the scarf. That was an I-might-need-a-tissue moment. I also enjoyed having a male lead be a more introverted stolid kind of man. They exist and can have their story told as well.

Enjoyed MARS quite a bit. Don't know if T-dramas will ever produce this type drama again.
I do to. Yeah, I had some issues here and there with it. No drama is perfect for sure. I am realizing I've seen all the other shows you listed as well. I kinda forgot Autumn's Concerto for a sec as it's been a while.

Yup, I have seen 49 days, it was more like a tearjerker for me. It was one of the dramas that I wanted to forget…
I didn't like the whole - what a coincidence we are sisters thing -but I actually thought that the death of the gal made the point "live your life because you never know" . I have mad respect for the writer for not pulling punches but I know people are divided on that. Of the two you listed, I would recommend Marriage Contract. I found TWTWB addictive but it is kinda weird and frustrating at times.

Rumors are his wealthy family is buying him roles
I could see that in some of the dramas he's done but not the family drama. That writer worked with him before and people really want to be in her shows. I don't think she would have allowed him to get near her project unless she was kosher with it.

I'm actually really glad to see the discussions about the actor in this comment section. You can simultaneously…
I don't care that much one way or another if people comment and discuss non-drama issues, but for people coming to just check out the drama, this isn't really what MDL is for. I think a separate article to discuss "actor scandals: to watch or not to watch" would be far better. People can hash out the five to seven actors who have crashed and burned and some even more than this dude.

My main problem with One Spring Night is that they could have other plots after ep 08 but they kept bringing out…
I've long had the theory that romance centric dramas really only need 12 episodes. Unless there are a lot of other characters/ensemble cast, it's rare that there is no filler or we feel like the same issues get tossed about for a few hours in straight romance shows.

I would put When The Weather Is Fine on the list, maybe at number 2 or 3. It was slow and healing drama. The love…
I enjoyed When the Weather is Fine quite a bit though I really dislike episode 15. Ha! I actually consider it more of an ensemble drama as all the characters were so fleshed out perhaps because it was based on a novel.

I also got into k-dramas for the romance but have found I enjoy a lot of other genres. Also hate love triangles. For something with a melo flavor that isn't makjang area and is romance focused, I would pick Just Between Lovers, Secret Love Affair, That Winter the Wind Blows, Marriage Contract. One of the best melo dramas I've ever seen isn't specifically romance focused but is 49 Days. You don't hear so much about it these days but truly is wonderful.

Park Hae Jin - you literally finished your last drama a month ago! After his 2 year break he’s just non stop!
I think Forest was finished a while back and had trouble finding an airing station.

Wow a kindred spirit! I thought I was the only one who found Park Bo Gum's acting insufferable. So I'm gonna skip…
I don't find PBG's acting insufferable, but I admit to never quite getting the big deal about him.
