While I don't watch every episode, I've seen quite a few of them and agree with several on your list that I've seen including the episodes with Super Junior and Shinee. Netflix even picked up the Shinee episode even though they only have a limited # of episodes of the earlier seasons. I think it helps to have more established groups because they just let it rip and not just on this show but on the weekly idol show as well. Super Junior and Shinee are my favs on that show as well. I've noticed when Heechul knows the people involved, he knows what buttons to push or who might need some help to stand out.

Title Two Weeks Spoiler
I just heard that they did this remake so I haven't watched this at all. However, the Korean version is excellent…
@Fala already answered and I agree. It was left that he would work on being a productive member of society so he could deserve this family though I think given that he'd been to heck and back, he'd kind of done that. I also agree that the k-drama is very well done and is one of the few I've actually watched twice.

Even in the k-drama, I think the lead character spends more time with the prosecutor (I think she was a prosecutor in the k-drama as well but they act like cops and it's been a few years). In the k-drama, a lot of what we see between the parents of the child was done in flashback in a rare case of that being used well in a drama. Basically we see how the parents met and what went wrong. In the k-drama there was absolutely no hint of romance between the guy and the prosecutor.

Title Two Weeks Spoiler
A question to those who watched the Korean. Is the role of Yoshine Kyoko in the K-version the main FL? Since it…
I just heard that they did this remake so I haven't watched this at all. However, the Korean version is excellent and the female lead is the mother of the girl; however, their is a female police officer who also has a solid arc. The k-drama focused on the father/daughter story with not much in the way of romance.

I thought that was a common thing? That's how my family (asian-american) has always done it and other people around…
I've read elsewhere that this is actually common in Korea because of water quality issues and they drink bottled water, and in my neck of the woods we love it cold so I've never thought a thing of it.

There are a lot of tropes I don't like but just annoying things that I roll my eyes at are plentiful including a phone dying just when the person needs it or they just happen that one time leave it at home. It's lazy writing.

I get that medical/police/legal dramas are ridiculous and unrealistic not just in Korea but everywhere, but they are worse in Korea. I remember watching a legal drama where the defense lawyer actually helped convict her own client. Guess what; defense lawyers defend guilty people all the time.

I will give a break to the sleeping in street clothes because it used to be it was freezing on sets or the drama is running so far behind, they don't have time for a wardrobe change. The live shoot system is brutal.

As far as tropes, the worst is the love triangle. Make it go away ...puleeeze.

So I came to check out reviews because this has been picked up by Amazon (Prime). I love Taemin to bits but it looks like it is a $ grab utilizing popular guys. I have never seen much indication that Taemin is interested in acting as he seems more focused on dance, singing and performing. And that's the thing; he excels at live performance and can own the stage even without his group. If he decides to delve into acting again, he should start with a minor role.

What, again?? Poor guy. Maybe give his management company a stern talking to or something? Because if they don't…
Yeah, he's been typecast and should probably go take a supporting role here and there to be able to stretch his wings a bit more.

There are 4 Korean actresses that I see get regularly dissed by international fans. Each time they get chosen…
You got three of them though Go Ara seems to have made people content with her last drama. Gu Hye Sun instead of OYS is the 4th. I saw complaints of OYS after her Hong Sister's drama which I think is the same as Black Knight: poor writing. Don't remember people complaining in Shine or Go Crazy or Come Back Mister (but most people were off watching DOTS.)

I'm not saying that these actors are the Korean Meryl Streep or anything. It's just the almost rote complaining gets old. Also the actress who everyone complains shrieks alot from Heal Me/Kill Me, Lucky Romance etc though most admit she's had solid performances earlier in her career. I'm all about the story so I freely admit, I can overlook some iffy acting if the story is working for me but blaming the issues with Black Knight on SSK is just wrong.

Everyone here is complaining about Se Kyung so lemme complain about Eun Woo since sorry in my opinion he really…
I don't have issues with either of them, but I'm just sick of the same 3 or so actresses getting dissed every time they have a drama coming out. It's tiring. I find this gal does just fine, especially in historicals so I'm looking forward to checking this out. I didn't mind the guy in Gangham ID because allegedly that's the way that character was written...we'll see because I expect more in this drama.

This drama isn't what I expected at all. I was going to skip it because Taiwan just isn't putting out great dramas these days and the whole cheating thing. However, this is a grown-up story about realizing you are not with the right person. I've been around long enough to see people stay when they should have left...and sometimes stay for years in dating and live in relationships. So it's not as simple I think as we all wish it would be. His situation is more simple but she is so conflicted, and I'm interested in how they deal with it.

Divorce is scandalous especially for female... celebs. But for the commoners, divorce is just as much of a shame…
Thanks for your response. I have always struggled to comprehend this aspect of Korean culture. Greatest Love was one of my early dramas, and I remember thinking why does it matter what his fans think of his girl friend? Why are his fans saying it's okay he dates....but just not her? It was so weird for me to think they would have any say on who some actor is dating.

The thing I don't understand is why adults dating and it not working out is a big thing. Isn't this what people are supposed to be doing in their 20ies. I can sympathize with celebrities in Asia for this aspect of things. They are not supposed to be caught dating but somehow still meet Mr or Mrs Right.

I will take your word about male k-celebs with exes. I mean there are a few who have been caught a few times, both actors and k-pop (like Kai). So is it a gender thing or are women (because a lot of the hate is coming from women) just being super jealous of someone like SHK who appears to have it all. Or both.

I watch Knowing Brothers and sometimes I'm uncomfortable with the jokes at the expense of the two divorced guys. I know it is in fun but divorce is godawful and not funny. I suspect as divorce becomes more common (and it will), things will change.

I have no clue what happened in this marriage...only 2 people know, but I hate the comments about the gal's dating life. Like all these actors and Kpop stars are having relationships and trying to keep it on the down low. It's silly.

This is my kryptonite. I love a bad guy somehow forced to do good things often against his will. I agree with the ones you've mentioned that I've seen. Lee Joon Gi does do these characters quite well. Now I'm gonna go check out one listed that I haven't seen ;)
Silent Jun 25, 2019
Lee Joon Gi seems to almost be one since he's done nothing but fan meets for 6 plus months. Come on dude, I want another drama! He really loves live performance and dance and seems to find songs that suit his singing limitations.

BOF was I think the 3rd drama I saw. I watched it like an anthropologist who couldn't quite wrap her mind around the cultural wackiness that viewing this drama is. I found it highly addictive but - to this day - I can remember how godawful I thought the bullying was. I'd never seen anything like it in real life or in a show before...okay, I have seen Carrie but that was a horror movie.

It would be nice to see a love story, even if among 2nd leads, involving a woman without the standard body type. I get it; it's fun to see beautiful people fall in love but there are people of all shapes and sizes who manage to fall in love. I recently saw a married couple where the guy was 6 inches shorter than his wife. There are all sorts of biases about all sorts of stuff.

Am I missing something? There must be some reason for this many people hating on SJK. She is NOT a terrible actor...holy…
There are 4 Korean actresses that I see get regularly dissed by international fans. Each time they get chosen for a drama, the same litany of complaints begins. It gets old. If viewers don't like an actress/actor, pass on the drama and leave it be.

This drama didn't work because the writing fell apart. There were some solid ideas but it just didn't come together. I don't think SSK has the acting chops to save this drama but neither did KRW. No one did.
