So before this he didn't realize to the extent his family was involved in the feud with the rebels, he basically just knew that the Xue family and his family didn't get along but not that they were actively trying to frame his family as rebel supporters. Because he loves Ning he doesn't want her to be implicated as an accomplice in case his family is accused of treason.

All it is is them essentially saying this is a story an author made up and not a true story to get around the reincarnation ban because people don't reincarnation into their past in real life. Not that most people would think it would be based on a true story but with the number of people annoyed the modern scene was even included saying everything is just a story in a book you'd possibly think otherwise 🙃

No, it IS a reincarnation story so all the monologues still make perfect sense. All they did was insert a scene to make it perfectly clear to everyone watching that people in "real life" don't die and reincarnate, that this is a story an author made up in a book and we are just watching it unfold.

Yes, it's essentially just a "normal" reincarnation to her past life story.

There might be an actual answer coming in the future but for now I'd say they are alluding to it being important to him because it is the symbol of his revenge. It's generally a solitary instrument played by oneself and he's stated that despite playing it since he was four he would consider himself an elementary level player which is obviously not true based on 1st life flashback. So it seems like he was probably stuck in a room playing that instrument for hours on end as a kid growing up being brainwashed by rebel leader dude so he associates it as the only thing that brings him pleasure as it's a symbol of his revenge (knowing that eventually he will stop "tuning" his qin and be able to start playing it = all his plans lining up and him getting his revenge). So when she smashed his qin this also lined up with his being out of his mind delirious and not knowing what he might have said to her = he's afraid she will ruin his plan for revenge.

Are you talking about the actual current Emperor who is sick and dying or Shen Jei who she married in her first life to become Empress?

She hasn't met the actual Emperor yet and idk if she will, but she's already met his brother back in Ep 1 when she was pretending to be a guy and first woke up reincarnated. So far that's the only time they've interacted though because she's trying to stay away from him this time since she doesn't want to be Empress.

Oh they're definitely implying some sort of conspiracy going on with the Empress Dowager. To what degree and whether it's as simple as "Save my son and have yours pretend to be him" or if she had an even more heavy hand behind the scenes with the rebels we'll have to see.

🤣 Omg it literally took me that long to realize it too. Then, when I did it took on another meaning because in ep 1 he was the dude in the middle that she slapped that Yan Lin had just introduced her to the "previous night" to go drinking and he thought was a guy. After the Yan and Xue dudes got kicked out of class and SJ left too, Yan told him JXN was the girl HE was going to marry so "don't even think about wooing her". Meaning when in the FIRST life she refuses him and says she wants SJ that's actually a DOUBLE betrayal in his mind.

That's why he's so suspicious of her. She's not DOING anything with the knowledge which makes her more dangerous because he doesn't know what she thinks / wants.

Pretty sure that's what their implying so far. And that would make Xue Shu his half-sister. They also seem to be implying there's more to the rebellion 20 years ago than the world was told since Xie Wei (assumedly) pretended to be the crown prince and dude obviously didnt kill everyone - then Yan divorced Xue but he remarried and had daughter only 7 months later.

5. She knew YL and why he did what he did... it was because of her own actions in her minds. However even to her death there were still things she didn't know about our dear ML aside from his visible actions and her belief that he wanted nothing more than to kill her. So she only has a surface level understanding of him going from a "meek and mild" guy in everyone's eyes to a "blood-thirsty", rebellion leader who always kept his eye on her for an originally unknown reason and has "some" connection to her best friend's family that he refuses to acknowledge.

They explain very early on so you might not have gotten there yet. He's worried about what she wants with Yan Lin because he's "in love" with her but Xie Wei thinks she's probably using him for something. He's also worried that she remembers what happened when he took her home four years prior (he was sick, she "saved" him by feeding him her blood but it was snowing when he woke up so he went "crazy" and tried to kill her because he has red eyes and red splotches in snow which apparently means he has "dementia".

I'm thinking yes, it was just a way to bypass censorship and get it out of the way at the beginning instead of shoehorning it in as a "twist" at the end.

When FL wakes up her internal self isn't all "what's going on am I actually in my book" but rather "what happened, I went back in time after I died and came back to life" indicating to me they are going with we (the viewers) are watching the writer's story play out on screen as she dreams up how she wants the plot to play out this time.
