Well said. I think one of the best scenes showing this is him talking with his guy discussing the princess mission. HE decided to help Ning but it also would be beneficial to his cause to help her. But at the same time HE wouldn't bat an eye at completing the mission by killing the princess, but he won't because that would go against HER mission. He's willing to bend with his goals but ultimately he still uses her goals to help him achieve his goals... (Or at least he would have it the whole thing had actually been able to go through) 🙄

I don't know how he is in the novel but in the drama that line wouldn't really make sense as her dad has been on her side and helpful the entirety of the drama. Also, it definitely gives off vibes of grooming they usually tend to steer clear of when dealing with an age gap, student/teacher romance in a drama.

I honestly think that princess scene might be one of the best scenes filmed. I was beyond emotional all around and while it made me sad it also managed to make me proud of a character in a drama, sealing the deal of becoming invested in her character.

Just watch it and get it over with 😢 Then you get to see XW battle wits with daddy dearest

I was "almost" managing to ignore everything until he had to go and specifically bring up the fact that they were family when talking with her in his bedchamber... 😵‍💫😖

I mean she was all along going to be supposed be marry his brother so why not the other brother I guess? 😅😵‍💫

It doesn't say much, mostly greets him as a teacher, thanks him and says everyone is doing well, that they made arrangements for his dad to "something" from his injuries before the snow in the North but it's no big deal now. Asks him to take good care of his fathers troops and that the Yan family is grateful to him and finally to say hello to "Ning Ning" for him.

Honestly yeah the only thing that was missing was XDF strolling in and making a "casual" remark about something to him to have completed the trifected.

Girl is definitely catching on that this dude likes her and she's getting conflicted feelings (keeps thinking about 1st life and all) so SHE is trying to create a wall between them.

If you noticed today he was trying to get close to her by bringing up her saving him those years ago and then she dismissed it by saying he's also saved her multiple times since coming into the palace. Setting it up as her seeing their relationship as a quid-pro-quo which she's probably saying she'd willingly wipe the slate clean and be at zero with him, which in theory would mean there would be no reason for them to interact with eachother anymore.

Lol Princess and JXN definitely had a Sapphic moment there it felt.
