I'm actually disturb by the ending where past Phop just died a sad and broken man because some guy in the future…
Nakun wasn't his dead friend he was a reincarnation. And he loved Phop, would have stayed with him in 1038 if it was his choice even though it was perilous to be gay during those times. He tried to hint around to Phop that he may not have a choice to stay. That's when Phop said he would find him regardless.
Klao didn't get to finish the mission. He found out who was guilty but they didn't get punished. (And I'm not sure they were actually recorded as being punished in history based on episode 12). But Phop never intended to stay in 1038. His plan was to finish the mission and then go find Nakun in the present day when he was done.
That's what episode 12 was all about. It wouldn't have really been a happy ending if they'd stayed in ancient times getting hunted down by opium traders and homophobes. In present time they got their do-over for happily ever after.
"though I lack experience, I have learned much from the scripts of intimacy and Kama Sutra" (ep9 3:25)this…
I can deal with 20 year old virgins. It's the 30-year-old virgins that Zee plays with NuNew that are weird. If he plays another one in Hug E-Lhee I'm going to throw something. 😮
Cutie Pie is perhaps my favorite all-time BL followed by TNP. Zeenunew's chemistry can't be beat. The closest…
I've now finished LUAT. A major flaw for me was that the opium trading story was just too long and convoluted. And the first two episodes bored the crap out of me. Out of those three DWY is probably my favorite because it told a story without going off the rails. LUAT definitely better than Khemjira.
JimmyOhm's only BL was TNP and they had very intense chemistry, especially for first-time couple. It actually reminded me of ZeeNuNew in Cutie Pie.
I thought the chemistry between both the main leads and secondary leads in LUAT was sweet. Not lusty like ZeeNuNew in CP, TleFirstOne in Khemjira, or JimmyOhm in TNP.
I would have liked LUAT better with a tighter story on the opium trade, and more about the relationships, especially more details about how Phop time traveled to the 21st century and the reunion of Phop and Nakun. Seems that Phop just showed up in an elevator, 15 minutes later they were dating and in bed and then married. There should be more character development since this is a BL.
How is this compared to khemjira? I liked that one should I give this a try??
I found Khemjira unwatchable. I mostly fast forwarded over it and watched the few pieces of episodes that had to do with the main couple and also watched the finale.
On the other hand I'm quite enjoying LUAT. The first couple of episodes are slow but once you get through those it's pretty enjoyable. I'm on episode 9 right now.
Dmd has been killing it so far. I dropped Cutiepie and bed friend, so I stopped watching their series cos I felt…
Cutie Pie is perhaps my favorite all-time BL followed by TNP. Zeenunew's chemistry can't be beat. The closest in DMD to them was Jimmy and Ohm, which is a damned shame since they broke up. I've watched most of the DMD BL's save for Khemjira. I couldn't get over the horror / mysticism plot. It was just a big snore for me. I'll have to wait to see Keng and Namping in something else.
im trying to watch this but the damn tar painted teeth are distracting the hell out of me. That was really unecessary
The black teeth are from chewing betel nuts. It was considered beautiful, and a status symbol tied to aristocratic wealth. It's kind of funny that in the series it was all of the servants who had the black teeth. DMD did their homework in that the practice was associated with the Ayutthaya Kingdom. But I guess they really couldn't have Net and JJ with ugly black teeth and expect us to look at them as a beautiful romantic couple in the modern age.
I hated Khemjira, FF over most of it. I'm on episode two of this one and it's looking promising. Can't figure…
When I wrote that I had only seen the first episode and part of episode 2 I believe. In episode 3 or 4 when they have that confrontation with the English guys is when you find out that he was an English major. So I just didn't know when I posted the question. I'm only on episode 6 right now.
my favorite thing about Domundi series is always the quote at the end “To a love unbound by gender, standing…
The BL ones are all the same theme but not the same language. The one for TNP was 'to every love and every equal heart under one sky" and Cutie Pie was "Kilen Wang loves Kuea Keerati. Let's get married my love,. We support marriage equity." It was on the banner at Siam square in the last scene when they were kissing. And before that Kuea gives a soliloquy about marriage equity and how it's needed but they will love each other forever regardless.
DMD has always had a strong LGBTQ+ agenda in all of its BL romances.
I don't care about spoilers. But are you saying that they both wind up in modern times then?
Well that is consistent with the lore that lovers will find each other in every lifetime. So they get a do-over in modern times with better medical Care. 🙂
I tried but I kept drifting off to sleep. Guess this one is not for me. Disappointing since I enjoyed the last…
I hated Khemjira, FF over most of it. I'm on episode two of this one and it's looking promising. Can't figure out why JJ's character speaks English sometimes though.
Watching episode 1. So far looks like a rip off of Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Undecided if I'm going to watch any more of these since I already saw the original.
