So, she is right and then rumors are right? 3 sides to a story. Innocent until proven guilty. He did not admit…
You're the perfect mind reader. You understand it all. You know exactly what Jisoo apologized for, but everyone wasn't as clever as you and thought he was apologizing for it all. Good for you to know Jisoo so well. I never said he wasn't canceled. I'm pretty clear his career is over, few people are as clever as you to differentiate things, so his reputation is still in the gutter, and when he gets out of the military he'll have to start his whole life over and figure that out, and the people who made false accusations just go on with their lives.

It is cool you read Seon Ho's mind as well and know exactly what he is apologizing for and that every aspect of her allegations are 100% accurate and that there's no nuance to be had. You're so clever and smart to know why he said what he said and all the intent behind it and the real behind the scenes story.

I for one, don't assume I know shit.

So, she is right and then rumors are right? 3 sides to a story. Innocent until proven guilty. He did not admit…
Yes. I think it depends on who represents the actor and how they demand their talent approach it. Jisoo apologized as vaguely as this apology & got canceled for it and then said he'll go into the military. Then later everything was found to be not as it was rumored to be, and the VAGUENESS of the apology made people believe the rumor was true... and just like that... people ONLY remember the rumor and the VAGUE apology, but not the retraction.

This is how cancel culture works. This is how you destroy a person's life... and you have to question the timing, and publicly airing your personal life like this, because, what does the accuser benefit from it, other than destroying a person's life. In that sense, doing exactly what they say was done to them. Tit for tat. Except, we're not privy to their private life and, thus, we can't really say ACCURATELY if it IS tit for tat. It very well could be only 1 person getting completely and utterly destroyed to the point that they have to completely restart their life and find another occupation... and never have a restored reputation again...

I just think that these kinds of personal issues should be left to their private life. Social media has become a bane on society because, based on a tweet here, forum post there, a papz investigation over there, and media article blowing it all up, every person thinks they know PERFECTLY the behind the scenes private business of everyone involved.

Let's be crystal clear.... NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY except for the people directly involved, and even with THEM it's 'her version', 'his version', and 'something in between being the real case'.

cliche shows are one of my biggest pet peeves. i hate repeated plots and uncreative, exaggerated loopholes that…
It's not an island. It's just NW of Ulsan above Busan on the Japan seaside of the peninsula. Unlike Seoul that is inland next to a river. That's why they can all drive their cars on the freeway to and from Seoul easily and you never see them on a ferry boat. lol. The town is fictitious, & irl it's Pohang, which is 3-1/2 hrs car drive from Seoul. ;)

Boy howdy the editing on this drama is atrocious! The director and production literally cut a couch scene with the leads just sitting and talking where the FL's head was to the left, then in 0.01 secs her head is suddenly to the right. LMFAO. It almost looked like the video was inappropriately cut, until I rewound it a few times and released, nope, that's just how bad they edited it. Makes you wonder if they just couldn't get the FL to act the scene and say her lines appropriately that they just gave up and that was the best on the scene edits they could finally splice together. =/

I have VIP in general but I have no idea. It's dumb. I think they stick it back on VIP once the view count doesn't…
It still makes no sense. They have 4 episodes you can watch for free, but the rest are back under the veil of VIP pass only. It’s fine, because by now there are multiple other places I can watch. If Tencent doesn’t want my repeat viewership, that’s their choice. A bad one, but their’s nonetheless.
On You Are My Glory Sep 20, 2021
Why did Tencent put this back under the VIP tags after releasing them all to FULL?? Haven't they gouged us out of our money enough by doing the Fast Track? I'm baffled by this. They're forcing me to REwatch on another platform. =/

You're simply rude af and mischaracterizing my intention.

Let me put it to you this way. GO WATCH 'YOUTH OF MAY'!! Go watch what is said and how NORTH KOREAN SPIES are referenced AND addressed in THAT drama. Pay particular CLOSE attention to the LAST EPISODE of the drama and how the elder version of the ML remarks about BANNERS claiming 'THE TRUTH' about these events. HINT: It's akin to what holocaust deniers do when they talk about Germany during WWII.

Then ask yourself what JTBC's response about "BLACK HUMOR" and using 'NORTH KOREAN SPIES' under these events for THIS drama have to do with HISTORY.

Add to that another question to yourself: "WHY DIDN'T 'YOUTH OF MAY' GET THE SAME REACTION FROM KOREAN NETIZENS AND A PETITION TO BE BANNED????

Don't insult me that I can ONLY know the importance of certain aspects of Korean HISTORY by being Korean myself.

Do you know if you'd has English subs available on Wavve? I enjoyed the first two episodes enough that i would…
As far as I know, this is only for South Koreans, not meant for international consumers, thus, won't have English subs.

I'm under the impression that for international viewers, Viki is acquiring the rights, but there's an issue with the VODs so we just have to wait.

So, this is an originally produced drama by Wavve [aka Contents Wave Co., Ltd.] a new OTT service provider in South Korea. Their concept is similar to 'NetFlix'.

This is the link to the drama from the Wavve site:
Obviously, if you are not a member or, I think, in South Korea, the drama is unavailable to you.

NOTICE from Wavve for this drama:

"2021-09-07
Hello. It is wavve.

The 'Part 1' of , which can only be viewed on Wave, has been released.
Watch episodes 1-8 all the way at once - Shrimp at Night!

We ask for your interest and love for the various original contents that will be released in the future.

thank you."

Wavve has had several issues over the past year with LIVE viewing servers and VODs. I'm not at all sure the exact nature of the problems, but this has caused a lot of issues with paying customers who pay via FLAT RATE. How that applies to this drama, I'm not sure.

If you want to understand further about the company, this is a link to an interview with the company's CEO, Lee Tae Hyun:

‘Sabotage”???? How??? I’m just one foreigner on MDL. I don’t have any power to make or break this drama so your words are just utter nonsense!! I didn’t sign a petition to the Blue House, because I’m not a citizen of South Korea!!!

You are out of line with your comment. Please don’t insult me. I’m not insulting anyone here, I’m voicing my opinion which I fully have the right to do ANYWHERE on this platform. You don’t get to act like an administrator here and dictate my freedoms and my speech.

My comment lets everyone know that this drama will at a minimum have 1 episode broadcast on JTBC in the LAST SLOT for the Sat-Sun spot of the year. SO…. IT WILL BE BROADCAST. My sentiments have nothing to do with whether that will or won’t happen. I’m voicing an opinion that based on what I’ve seen and read, this drama will STILL be controversial despite this AND that it could ruin the careers of some of the actors etc. Whether I express this OPINION or NOT, won’t make a bit of difference to those SOUTH KOREAN CITIZENS who petitioned the Blue House about this already and the thousands who have posted on forums about it!!! NOR WILL YOU TELLING ME TO LEAVE do a thing to change the outcome as well.

You’re BLIND if you think you understand my intentions, because based on your comment, you haven’t got a clue.

I was always thinking that the staff and the cast and the whole team working on this drama from directors and…
How many of the cast were either born or old enough to remember what happened at the time? That’s my point. Also, there are still ONGOING trials of the president who issued the military in there even today. This junta president is still alive and FREE as a bird telling his lies. Ex-junta president Chun Do Hwan was only convicted of libel 9 MONTHS AGO for saying the Catholic priests were liars. To this day, even though there are even foreign witnesses to the facts, the people who were part of the regime, who have never been convicted of ANY War Crimes still say that military soldiers never shot at citizens from helicopters. YES, they did kill civilians by shooting at them this way… but, here is the former president only finally being sued in 2017!!! WHY!?!? Why can these issues be addressed and discussed NOW and not prior??? Because the chaebols and those in power all this time had control of the narrative… It wasn’t until the Sewol Ferry incident that the citizens finally came together and said enough is enough and the years long process to FOR THE FIRST TIME impeach a president over CORRUPTION. That was a huge issue… but the citizens are still fighting to get their version of the story out…. so, the point is… many of these young actors likely are NOT fully clear on what was involved and may even believe the whole “…communists infiltrated the university and we needed to beat and kill men, women, and children and rape all the women as well to teach them all a lesson…” version of the story that those who were in power at the time still try to say: https://youtu.be/Yd7oFCk1d2c

I was always thinking that the staff and the cast and the whole team working on this drama from directors and…
I hope that is the case, but you have a couple things working here that we all have to prepare ourselves for in the end.

1) There’s a reason that the OLDER netizens are chastising kids and international Kpop fans. It’s because they a) either know nothing about the history behind it or the FULL story/sanitized version from the Junta and/or b) they’re Koreans who are too young and only care about being able to see Jisoo in her debut acting role…because seeing her in another drama, even if it’s a “debut” wouldn’t be the actual “REAL” 1st role

2) Chinese MONEY talks and people listen. How do you think TAIWANESE citizens WILLINGLY denounce their own heritage and renounce PRIDE in their own country and flag?? If RENOUNCING and DENOUNCING was what they ALL meant, why aren’t they in front of their govt buildings PROTESTING and demanding UNIFICATION with China??? Why would they be PROUD of their GAY MARRIAGE LAWS if they sided with and loved China??? China would abolish Gay Marriage…. They don’t REALLY believe what they’re saying deep down… They only go along and say these things because it’s the only way they can work and make money of the Chinese Market. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS… and you’re deaf, dumb and blind if you think otherwise. JTBC taking Chinese MONEY with the stipulation that they do a little rewrite of history here or there doesn’t mean a thing to them if they’re pocketing the money.

I hope as well as everyone that they stay true to the reality of the story. As it stands, there is so much BS surrounding this ~ as in saying the Freedom Fighters were Communists.. Uhh.. No, they weren’t. The idea that you can’t be a Freedom Fighter AND a Capitalist only comes from the mind of a Marxist…and in the end…. Who is more free???? China & NK or SK who just impeached a president with a citizenry that tries to level the playing field everyday and keep chaebols from running the entire country.

‘ While a firm release date was not announced, the network has confirmed that the show will be its final Saturday-Sunday drama of the year..”

The Blue House has responded appropriately, but it’s not a FULL rejection. It’s just merely saying they’re not going to interfere with content creator’s free speech rights. HOWEVER, this is going to be strictly monitored, by KCSC, once it airs. Blue House can only rely on what the production team is saying and won’t be able to determine the truth behind their statements until it airs. If the 1st 2 episodes don’t go the way JTBC is indicating, there will be HUGE controversy even more so, and likely JTBC will be forced to cancel the same way “Joseon Exorcist’ was cancelled but the outcry will be FAR worse for JTBC.

I, for one, am hugely skeptical about JTBC’s clarifications. Honestly, their words coupled with this notion that the drama is based in SOME FACTS coming from a ‘political prisoner from North Korea’ and the fact that ANY NK ‘spies’ are likely to be involved makes me doubt that when the 1st episodes drop, this will go over well at all with South Korean citizens.

I’m sad about this because Jung Hae In is a FAV actor of mine, and I’m truly fearful that choosing to do this drama will stigmatize him for a long time after it comes out, if it does poorly. We know what happens to stigmatized celebrities and he’s already had to deal with controversies of being arrogant in front of more seasoned, veteran actors. =/ This political time he’s acting in is highly sensitive because there are ONGOING issues and LAWSUITS against the REGIME even today…. because TRUE free speech didn’t really come to South Koreans until recently, after the Sewol Ferry Accident and presidential impeachment.

Why is the NK SPY angle of this drama so controversial? Because those involved with the uprising, especially the students, and the University doctors & nurses who tended the injured and bodies at the time, who know there were NEVER any ‘NK spies’ involved and that this was what the SK govt regime used as an EXCUSE to come into the area with military and killing 144 innocent freedom protesting civilians. One major controversy, and where “Taxi Driver” plays a key role, is that the SK govt shot at citizens from helicopters. To this day, the regime, is denying these things. Many of the pro-freedom fighter Koreans had to exile to Japan and used pro-freedom publications from Japan to get out the CORRECT information.

The biggest point of contention is that it is CHINESE INVESTORS pushing these REVISIONIST HISTORY stories. For what reason??? Watch what is currently happening in China where the GOVT has released a statement THIS WEEK that it will crack down on “SISSY BOY’ bands and male actors who “do not conformed to appropriate male beauty standards” and ask yourselves if ANY CHINESE org, being that ALL ORGS ARE OWNED AND CONTROLLED BY THE CCP~PERIOD~ would EVER push a PRO-DEMOCRACY STORY surrounding Korea? With the current US’s administration showing utter weakness, China is more emboldened to act, not just in Taiwan, or Afghanistan, but other places as well. The Korean citizens who have lived through these times, as well as family members of the dead protestors will never forget.

So you can maybe understand more why this situation isn’t merely about some precious Kpop fandom getting its glory, that certain things are more important than that ~~AND WHY CHINESE INVESTORS USE ENTERTAINMENT FIRST TO INFILTRATE THE PSYCHE OF A NATION ~~ international fans just really need to sit aside and wait and not argue about the BIGGER PICTURE here. Here are the more important comments from K-netizens on the matter of this drama and their fears and concerns:

“ Jisoo isn't the only one being criticized. JTBC, wake up! There's no future for people who forget history.
Jisoo and Hae-in are very popular so this drama will circulate abroad. What are foreigners going to think of our Democratic Movement? Why would you do this in a drama? Having North Koreans as a backdrop of a pro-democracy uprising was not right in the first place. Are you having fun nowㅋ?“

“ It's seriously crazy. Kids that don't understand what's going on should just look up the current state of Myanmar on Google then come back. We went through the same situation too. We can't forgive everything that's going just because it's Jisoo or Hae-in”

“[+280, -2] You all know that China's least favorite thing is democracy right?”

“[+258, -1 Honestly its highly suspicious that a Chinese company invested in this. Would Communist China directly invest in something like this knowing its based on the Democratic movement? It's suspicious that Seol gang-hwa is not even in the Korean dictionary but you can find it on the Chinese dictionary..”

“[+250, -2] A Chinese company invested 100 billion won in JTBC studios. Why would China invest that much in a pro-democracy drama ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ 딱? It's because they're planning to distort the history of our Democratic Movement by saying they were spies themselves.”

Again, the backdrop to this story is the very SOUTH KOREAN REGIME that killed over a 100 innocent protesting civilians said they were forced to do it because NORTH KOREAN SPIES were among the protestors… PRO-DEMOCRACY PROTESTORS who got all their data out to South Korean exiled in JAPAN using Japanese PRO-DEMOCRACY PUBLICATIONS developed after WWII & democracy came to Japan, to show that the GOVT was LYING ABOUT NK SPIES.

Again, those who lived through it can see the writing on the wall….and why a NK SPY would be used to distort history and the idea that Chinese will INVEST without making DEMANDS to change scripts as they see fit is quite naive in a devastating way. That’s just not how the CCP works.

I have never used ML for ‘Main Lead’ ever. It’s always been ‘Male Lead’ because what drama has only 1 ‘Main Lead’?

It’s Main Role[s] not Main Lead[s] and using ML as ‘Main Lead’ wouldn’t distinguish between which ‘Male Lead’ [ROLES] or ‘Female Lead’ {ROLES] you were referring if there’s more than 1, especially of both male & female, as in 4 Main Lead[s], i.e. 2 males & 2 females. =/

Title You Are My Glory Spoiler
Hi! For me personally, I think YT's friends attended the wedding by virtue of working in the Aerospace Institute…
You realistically can only take what the drama presents to you. I also read the novel. Below I copied any parts of it talking about this subject that shows that this was NEVER the case.

Based on the actual dialogue spoken on the matter in the drama, you can only determine things based on these facts:

。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。
𝑸𝑱𝑱 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒎 𝒔𝒆𝒕
"If we participate in this group wedding, then we'll be able to put all our troubles behind us. First of all, we don't have to worry about what everyone thinks of us. We don't even have to book the banquet ourselves. Besides we'll only need to invite those closest to us as guests. If this isn't a dream wedding, then what will be?"

𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒀𝒖 𝑻𝒖 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒔:
"Before we talk about appropriateness, have you even taken your parents and also Sister Ling into consideration?"

𝑩𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍 𝑸𝑱𝑱 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔:
"If you want to keep it secret, then its hard to get it done. I want to invite only a few close friends..."
。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。

In no where did it ever say that only family could attend. It's 'close friends' and family. QJJ wanted to keep it simple.

Also, note, it's not obvious but I know from the novel that:

"𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑’𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 𝒘𝒆𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒇𝒖𝒍. 𝑬𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 9.30."

NOTE: IT DOESN'T SAY CO-WORKERS OF CATC THAT ARE FRIENDS. IT SIMPLY SAYS 'FRIENDS'. ~ likely there was just a limit to the # of guests. But the idea that Yu Tu's co-workers are the ONLY ones that can attend and QJJ only gets to invite her parents... *smh* Forget the "celebrity" part... if I was 1 of the other 9 BRIDES that were having a wedding there and I couldn't even invite my BFF to attend, but he gets 5-6 of his co-workers attending, I'd be pissed off to say the least.

Btw, you see the parents heading off down the stairs from the venue before we see Yu Tu/QJJ in the lounge since they were going to participate in the airshow!!

Further, you have to make the assumption, based on the fact there were SIX COMPLETE STRANGERS up in the hotel room Yu Tu/QJJ used to get prepared, and they were the only ones helping her put on her wedding dress, jewelry, and make up??? THIS IS TOP SECRET RIGHT???

Are you trying to tell me that QJJ's assistant wouldn't at the very LEAST be in that hotel room helping QJJ prep for her wedding? That neither, at the very minimum, would Sister Ling, & Xiao Zhu be up there with these SIX MAKEUP ARTISTS helping her get herself ready??? Really???

I'll put it to you another way. The ONLY other person that took part in the WEDDING DISCUSSION between Yu Tu and QJJ's PARENTS was XIAO ZHU!!! She's over there telling the parents that her and Sister Ling will do everything to make sure that privacy is maintained and that QJJ has her perfect wedding... and they don't even help her put on her wedding dress because.... what.... it's a PRIVATE VENUE and only aerospace "FRIENDS" are allowed???? But she can have SIX MAKEUP ARTISTS in a hotel room??? Come on now.. that's just not right at all.

。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。
In the NOVEL things pertaining to the wedding indicate that both close friends and family are participating. In no where in the novel nor this drama adaptation specifically written by the author does it say only 'co-workers' of potential spouses that are 'friends' working at CATC are allowed to attend. That any NON-CATC potential spouse can ONLY have their parents attend. They have the wedding at a local hotel near the base. They're not ON the institute lot. It's not PRIVATE to that extent.

Also, there is NEVER any indication that Sister Ling & Xiao Zhu helped prep, pay for, and set up ANOTHER venue, since the whole purpose of this wedding was to be SIMPLE, not for others to LATER attend. It just didn't happen.

Per the written novel, QJJ specifically discusses not having to organize any freaking banquet. They didn't do that later on at all. The group wedding was it in total! PERIOD. lol.:

“There will be no need to worry about the media. We won’t be nitpicked on the details of the wedding. We won’t need to organize the wedding banquet. We will only need to invite a few close friends and relatives to be our guests. If this is not a dream wedding, then what is a dream wedding? I am being very considerate. When Big Sister Ling finds out, she’ll definitely be moved to tears.”

In the novel, the indication that she invited friends is there, but we are NEVER given the list. Of course you have the assumption made, his friends, and her friends. Are you telling me after PeiPei took a month's worth of Yu Tu's salary to keep their relationship PRIVATE paying RED PACKETS to their classmates that saw them kissing, and who said she would give them it back "...as a wedding gift..." didn't attend the actual wedding, as a close friend who can keep things private???

In the book...
"Qiao Jing Jing stood up. “Dad and Mom and the others have arrived?”

And as written in the novel, those who attend:
"Our parents, friends, and relatives will watch in the audience with great joy."

No where does it ever say the QJJ's close friends couldn't attend.

SO, no, not buying the explanation as to why they were left out of the scenes. It's just a faux pas on their part.

Why do they expect a quiet & calm character to show emotions like a loud character? His character is supposed…
I agree. A lot of viewers have been conditioned to the Chinese version of the makjang tropes but, unlike k-drama, 'melo' isn't a genre, it's THE template standard for the most part. Everything is chaos, people yelling at each other, scheming against one another, lying, cheating, stealing, being fake af, and this is presented as the norm. So, when you have something that's more based in reality, calm, and soothing, everyone will be like, "...this is SO boring..." or "...these actors can't act..." etc etc.

Fact is, they like all that LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, NONSENSE! You can tell with the way they engage on social media platforms where they don't have to show their actual faces, while they talk shit about other people and start fans wars, or just insult someone simply because they choose to live a life different from THEIR expectations... as if they have a right to tell others how to live simply because they exist online. =/ They go online to point fingers, because, for the most part, in their real lives, at home, or at work, it sucks, and they suck... and it's more entertaining to see people worse off than them, so they can AT LEAST find a glimmer of hope in their lives.... ....of course, I'm over exaggerating... but on some level, some, if not most of this is true. ;)

Imo, Yu tu's feelings started from the bar scene where she sended him the Wine bottle and after that they kinda…
Naw... that's just when he put his guard down, and felt like he could open up to her. He came to her home to give her back the bottle of wine because he didn't know it was a prop. He didn't go there with any particular intentions. You know this because "Panicky" texted asking who she is and he texted back "...an old classmate. We're just getting to know each other..." That's an admission that he doesn't know her very well yet. At the end of the drinking scene, he's still in his own world looking out the window, feeling sorry for himself. Her assistant did acknowledge he started treating her different, but that was more a nod to their growing friendship, nothing romantic yet.

Yu Tu actually recognizes his feelings for her after the dinner with his Aerospace buddies. Sitting in front of the subway rail, he has the choice to take the subway 45 minutes back to his home, and sit around feeling sorry for himself, or opt to take the train 45 minutes up to her house, late at night, and ask her to go out, before he then takes the subway, doing the 2 transfers, and 1hr 30mins back to go home to bed. He asks her out to the movies....which IS a legit date, even if neither of them acknowledged it as such, and pretended it was just two single friends hanging out on Singles' Day.
