Well, they maybe idols, but currently, they're more like former idols. U-KISS and GG haven't promoted as a group for a few years now, if I recall correctly. They're old enough to move past the image and stereotyping.
Wow. I'm shocked at the hate on PMY's acting. I cannot even believe what I'm reading.
She has been the main lead actress of some of the most iconic South Korean dramas of all-time. You can count her and possibly Ha Ji Won as the actresses to bring in the international viewers and spark the explosion of K-Drama viewing throughout the world. Dramas like 'Ja Myung Go', 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', & 'City Hunter' cannot be overlooked!
This is an actress who hasn't had a drama rated below 8.0 since 2014 with 'Healer'. How can anyone say with a straight face that a veteran actress like PMY isn't a 'really good actor'??? You may not like the kinds of dramas she is in. You may not like the characters she plays...but to say she's not good at acting is simply BS. I have no words for those kinds of statements. The idea that all she is is a 'pretty face' just smack in the face of people who literally worship 'Healer' and the iconic pairing of Ji Chang Wook & PMY.
As for Song Kang, after 'Navillera', I hope he's started to learn to better emote rather than using things like yelling to convey emotions. As it stands, when put next to a great actor, like Park In Hwan, he was still able to keep from dragging the drama down, and I rated it a 9, despite his more rookie acting skills. He wasn't so horrible as to detract from everything around him and, at a minimum, kept his character true, even if his micro expressions are not quite there yet. So, with that said, I'm hopeful that PMY can bring out the best in his acting skills. 😉😁
At E20 right now and am so hating the Xiao Siblings both Xiao Han and Xiao Qing. Such scheming cunning people.…
The 1st drama I ever saw him in was 'Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty. He was really good in that , and it was his first drama ever. You won't even be able to recognize him because, in that drama, he even looks like 5-6 years older than he does here. He has a much more mature vibe.
She just started filming the drama 'Kiss Six Sense' [https://kisskh.at/707571-kiss-six-sense]. Very sad. It's also reported "According to reports the drama has now cancelled scheduled filming after the news of her death." So, I guess a significant amount of it has been filmed and they'll have to shuffle it around to try to replace her and her scenes.
I need to watch Navillera. Everyone I know loved it.To My Star was soo cute.
Before I watched it, most of those in my Friends Feed actually didn't like it or the acting, mainly because I think they focused too hard on Song Kang. But Park In Hwan did some of the best acting I've ever seen in a K-drama of this kind. Everything about his role was poignant to me. Song Kang made his dancing look believable so I appreciated that even if his acting had it where his emoting came across as constant yelling vs real emoting while acting. Park In Hwan was so on fire in his role that he managed to cover up a lot of Song Kang's flaws, make it believable, and enjoyable to watch. If you bear this in mind, I think you'll enjoy it, since Park In Hwan is even better in this than he is as the father in 'Lost'.
I hope there's really a reason for pran's mom to act that way cause she's really annoying and childish right now,…
The guess is that she has a clear vision of the reality of who her son is, since he's been pretty aware of his emotions and a rational/levelheaded person, who knows who he is deep down. He's silent because people around him, especially his mom, don't want to see and accept him for who he is, and want to control the situation.
He's got the familial piety thing down and doesn't want to rock the boat, so he's willing to give up things and be sent away just to appease his mom, who actually doesn't deserve it. In the meantime, this is why he spends a lot of time walking around like he's depressed. He's not allowed to be true to himself, and stuffing those emotions, and the stress around trying to not get caught can be overwhelming. Frankly, this is the big reason why the suicide rate among gay teenagers is so high.
Just finished watching The Gifted Hand. Kim Bum acting is kind of flat to me
That was 2013 ffs!
I watched 'Law School' on NetFlix where he played the main role of Han Joon Hwi. That drama enjoys a 8.7 rating on MDL, which is an extremely high rating, mainly because of him and Kim Myung Min and their acting! That's a 2021 drama!
Actors have the ability to improve over the years. Hell, at least 'The Gifted Hand' has a higher rating than Rain's 2014 drama 'My Lovely Girl' and 2015 'Diamond Lover'! Rain can improve his acting and get better scripts as well.
On my end, I hope they BOTH do well because that will make the drama better. I hope the script is a good one and that Uee's acting has improved as well! I hope that script is a good one too so they can all enjoy a nice and memorable comeback. Just hyping for one isn't going to make this an enjoyable watch for anyone. It's better to which everyone well, and express excitement for your bias, than to already be negative about it before it's even aired 1 episode,
Suprised about the amount of people who didn't know already that she's been dating Choi Tae Joon. Where have you…
Since Choi Tae Joon was really close with a lot of the people involved in the Burning Sun scandal, I think they decided to keep their relationship on the downlow from that point on as well as him doing his military service.
I mean, although he gave a 'standard excuse" for backing out from 'Hotel de Luna', it's suspected that he really gave up the role played by Lee Tae Sun because of potential backlash that he was getting at the time for being close friends and part of the inner circle of those arrested. It's easy to see because, at the time, his acting career was on the rise, and he was also outed to be the boyfriend of the 'It Girl" ~ Park Shin Hye, by 2018, but instead he backs out of 'Hotel de Luna' and why, although 'So I Married the Anti-Fan' had it 1st script reading on Aug. 20, 2018 and started filming in the same month, they didn't release it until he was on the verge of coming out military service almost 3 years later on April 30, 2021. =/
Although I'm happy for both of them, for Park Shin Hye, I wish they would have already gotten married first, because there are K-netizens that will never forget this issue, and having it appear they had an accident in the bedroom to get him to propose, even if that's not true at all, will just bring up this backlash from that group all over again.
Thank you for this details! Really appreciate! But could you hide this as a spoiler? Thanks!!
Frankly, you are the self righteous person, because the actual synopsis and tags let you know what the movie is about…. and this is a horrendous story, based on true facts, that can be a trigger for many people.
If you want to watch a movie 100% pristine then, I suggest that you shouldn’t be coming to the Movie page, with details in the synopsis and tags that openly indicate the movie is about pedophilia and sexual abuse and read comments.
Also, I STILL haven’t seen the movie and at the time I wrote the comments, there was no clear resolution as to what happened to everyone in the end, so I have NO idea how this movie will interpret an unresolved crime. So, to answer your question, NO, I’m not nuts.
Exactly! But imagine how long it must have felt for him😂
What I mean is that he probably had more activity and things to do than the general population, and he’s not sitting around wondering what he’s missing. Often how quick time passes has to do with your mental state. When you’re not enjoying things, or can’t distract yourself and you’re just ‘watching the clock’ time can feel exactly as you said. 😜
Dude, coming to a married woman’s husband’s family home to give her a bouquet of flowers, like he’s taking…
Actually, the last 2 episodes they dropped were super cute and his mom didn’t add to any mess, so I’m interested to see how this finishes up. I think it’ll be a decent “Old School” melodrama if they don’t through in a breakup trope in the last 4 episodes and keep going at this pace. I’ve come this far, so I’m just gonna see it through to the end.
And, as to the reviewer, yeah, I think we agree on her. She’s be critical of things I felt didn’t deserve it and put higher expectations on acting skills in situations and dramas that don’t demand it while cutting slack just because she has a bias. So, when she goes off on a drama’s actors as if they have to give some Oscar worthy performance when it’s meant to be more tongue in check, I just ignore her perspective. LMFAO! 😉
Dude, coming to a married woman’s husband’s family home to give her a bouquet of flowers, like he’s taking…
Yep, this is one that will make you grit your teeth to bare through the stupid stuff, while waiting for the cute alone time with the leads. That about sums up watching this drama. hahaha. 😆
I only deal in facts...not rants, gossip or flame wars. For those curious about what all the rants/flames about…
Well, with the current state of Korean entertainment, this man will *never* have a public career in South Korea, at least for the extended future. When merely bullying someone in middle school, or end a romantic relationship with your partner in a perceived callous and cold way can get you canceled, this man has done far worse, as to reputation than any other.
There may be no legality or laws that say you have to report a known crime, which, with the videos in the kakao chatrooms he saw were such, that's why you have 2 in prison for 8-10 yrs over it, Lee Jong Hyun was completely and utterly aware of it and what his 'friends' were participating in. He was supposed to be in the military "reflecting" on his behavior but was found to be hitting up female YouTubers in a sexually explicit way and in a manner that the females deemed unwanted. Again, with the current state of public scrutiny in South Korea, there are people being kicked off dramas etc for far less than this here.
As for why FNC haven't severed their contract with him, even though he is no longer a member of the band CNBLUE, is because:
1) he covered for Jung Yonghwa/FNC insider trading stock scandal back in 2016. In that, Yonghwa was investigated for making money off buying FNC stock then selling it at a higher price KNOWING that FNC was going to hire a big name celebrity. That's a no-no anywhere in the world. You cannot profit off of personal info you know about the company. Anyway, although Yonghwa made money they conveniently made it look as though he bought and sold BEFORE the knowing anything...while Lee Jong Hyun was fined by the South Korean govt for the same thing, but admitting that he KNEW about the celebrity when he bought the shares... the ONLY reason Jong Hyun didn't go to jail over this was because he KEPT the stock and was losing money when the stock prices dropped thus not profiting off the purchase. Jong Hyun STILL owns those FNC stocks... and we all know why...it's leverage for taking the fall for their more popular member of CNBLUE and entertainer Yonghwa &
2) Jonghyun has the inside info to blackmail them, AND still owns shares in FNC... So he's an OWNER of the company, no matter how little the amount of his shares... They're NEVER going to end his contract until FNC goes bankrupt and bought out by someone else, or closes its doors.
But let's all be clear here, maybe he could have a career in Japan, but he is NEVER going to have another chance in South Korea, period. K-netizens don't work that way, even if there are boice that still want him and support him.
Dude, coming to a married woman’s husband’s family home to give her a bouquet of flowers, like he’s taking…
There is a popular YouTuber who discusses and reviews and rates C-Dramas on her channel. She actually has a very HIGH expectation on acting skill and such, from the reviews I've ever seen from her. However, I think she has a crush on the ML of this drama from watching him in 'The Imperial Coroner' prior to this one. She does indicate that THIS drama is as "CLICHE" as it comes, but rates it high because, as she puts it, "Wang Zi Qi actually 'FITS' the biz suits and looks 'REALISTIC' as a CEO, and that the interactions between the ML/FL are 'fluffy and fulfilling'", and I believe that she posted that review around EP. 8 of this drama... saying that she's enjoying it despite the cliche...which is rather incredible based on the HIGH LEVEL she often requires of the dramas she watches and rates.
I believe that her fanbase took her leanings and followed her into watching this drama with the same sort of "fangirling" attitude. It's honestly not like her to fangirl, but, for w/e reason, she sure is for Wang Zi Qi. Why do I say this, because I started watching this based on her statements, believing that, even if cliche, the plot has to have some merit for her to promote and rate it so high in the initial watch... only to be utterly disappointed that it is WAY BEYOND old school C-Drama, to the point that I'm baffled at her review, tbh. Yes, I watch trope-y cliche C-Dramas but only the newer ones that don't over abuse it and add a bit more "FRESH"ness to it. This is not that. This drama is reminiscent of of early 2000s C-Dramas, especially when it comes with the fantastically overbearing behavior of the second leads, that is just way past being any form of realistic. These will get a severe downvote for me when they take it to these levels....when it's the ONLY driving force of the plot and there's no other depth to the characters or the plot than this. =/
I hate how bias people are to how SMLs act towards the FLs even though they are in a relationship or are married…
Dude, coming to a married woman’s husband’s family home to give her a bouquet of flowers, like he’s taking her to the prom, simply because she’s got a cold is 100% toxic and off. He is fully aware they’re both in love with each other, so there really aren’t any excuses for this kind of toxic behavior.
On the other hand, what the SFL is doing is criminal. She is taking someone’s private information and documents and publishing them in a public forum. She should be in jail.
So, the SML is just being a freaking douchebag, but the SFL is being a stalking criminal bitch. A slight difference in character but not much.
Our leads are no less guilty in this. They both are jealous and expect the other person to be understanding of their situation, while they each give to much attention and leeway to the second leads, that leads to false hope and difficulties. I’d say the ML is a little more succinct in telling off the SFL but even allowing her to continue having any involvement in their activities when she’s already done a lot of sus stuff he’s aware of makes him just about as naive as his wife. lol.
That this drama has stuck to the second leads interferences being the SOLE driving point of this drama means it’s likely going to continue on until the very end. Hopefully we won’t get the std C-Drama breakup/divorce before they get back together, but being that this drama is so cliche, I’m not holding my breath over it.
