This was a really interesting article. I like hearing about the preparations actors take for a role. I also like his reasoning for why he lost weight. It sounds like he weighed more than was good for his body and he made sensible life-style changes. He sounds like a very mature person. Looking forward to seeing Siren's Kiss when I have Prime again.
I agree that he pretty much looks his age so I don't know why he's getting comments that he looks older.
The problem with the writer of this article is not that they're writing about actors, it's about the fact that…
I agree about more articles about Chinese actors/actresses. There's a lot about Korean shows/stars, but little about Chinese ones. A little more balance would be appreciated.
How anyone can misread this article as making Dylan out to be a villain is beyond me. I know it's become a thing to attack the author and call her names and use foul language (just like the netizens that supposedly these commenters are against), but I don't get it. Reporting is reporting, not attacking. I want to know news of what's happening with actors/actresses that I watch so I appreciate the articles and I don't see anything in them as calling for attacks on actors.
I've reported one such commenter, not because they have a difference of opinion than I do, but strictly because of the hate, maliciousness and foul language. Maybe others who feel the same way will also.
both of them are awful in their own ways. give me my time back
Thanks for posting your comment. I read some reviews and the things the reviewers didn't like are things I wouldn't like, either. Pretty much the main reason I wanted to watch this drama is because I really liked the title. Not the best reason to give up my time to a drama. I'm going to take your words to heart and pass.
First thought when I saw the headline was, "Good for him!" After what Zhang Linghe and other stars have gone through with crowds in their faces I have no sympathy for anyone who can't respect these actors as human beings.
These aren't fans, they're big game hunters stalking their prey. They don't care about Zhang LInghe as a person or as an actor. If they did they wouldn't put him in danger or any of the people around him. You don't do that to someone you care about.
He's just as object because he's riding a wave of popularity at the moment. If he gets bad reviews in his next drama will they still be around? One would almost hope that he does fall from grace for his own safety. If I were an actor I think I'd prefer to be a really good supporting player. Who needs to be the object of this type of obsessive behavior.
Looking forward to some of these dramas. I like Jelly Lin. Currently watching No Pain, No Gain and loving it. (Peng Yu Chang is always great.)
Also looking forward to the one with Wang Chu Ran. She was in one of my favorite dramas, Are You the One? One of the few 40/45m dramas I've been able to get through.
Tian Xi Wei is another one I like I didn't know about some of these dramas so I'm glad for this article.
The "Ten Days to End" is one of the biggest ip from china which gonna be a very big production and currently…
I watched Reset and read the synopsis of this drama and the only part that seems alike is the reliving of days. It sounds like something I'd really like (I loved Reset) so I'll put this on my list.
His talent is far from mediocre. Being considered attractive does not automatically mean someone lacks ability.…
"If there was no acting behind “the face,” C-drama fans would not stick around."
Normally I would think this statement would be true, but I saw too many comments on this drama's page about how beautiful ZLH is and how much people like looking at him and how much they like him without much mention of his acting abilities. I think it's very possible for an actor to have a huge following without much acting ability.
lol---- I noticed there are many Zhang Linghe smear merchants on this site; ZLH can't act, ZLH is a racist, ZLH…
Popularity does not make a person a good actor, a good person or antiracist. If it did all the popular people in the world would be awesome and talented human beings. Sadly that's not the case.
If this drama and ZLH are so popular why are fans so afraid of people that don't share their views that they have to call them jealous haters?
"freedom is non existent". Freedom is the power to choose, censorship is to enforce a way, without leaving…
Applause!
That lack of respect for differing opinions on this drama is why I started the discussion about disappointments/criticisms. Too many people who weren't praising POJ were called haters. In fact the rabid fans seem to think that anyone who doesn't think this drama is a masterpiece is a hater. I just hope these are mainly very young fans and not fully-grown adutls.
It was so evident that all the rabid fans wanted was ZLH's pretty face. Rarely did I see his acting abilities…
"And no one should use “not enough episodes” as an excuse for poor writing."
One of my biggest peeves in dramas is that too many are bloated. If you need more episodes then you've either taken on too much for the story or you need a good editor who's experienced enough to know what doesn't advance the story and ruthless enough to get rid of extra characters that take away from the trajectory of the story and filler that's there to stretch the episode count. I want every minute I'm watching to count.

Thank you for the compliment!
Same about story, acting, directing. If I'm going to invest my time in a drama I want it to keep me interested because everyone involved knows how to do their jobs. Beauty is nice, but as they say it's skin deep and dramas need to be deeper than that.
