Light the Night is really good too ! 3 seasons on Netflix - it's got a retro 1980s thing and great actors. You get really invested in the women's lives.

For me that was the irony though; they did the comic parts really well. (And I loved the entire supporting cast) They had the right timing, expressions, delivery but then there were these long drawn out repetitive scenes when nothing really moved forward - so you'd get some fun and be more enthusiastic about watching and then it'd go two steps backwards again, and again, and again and... (if they hadn't had that chemistry in the "live action" parts it would have been completely unwatchable but they did so it was disappointing that the director relied so heavily on flashbacks and rewinds with little progress. I still made it to the end - with help from my remote's FF tho.

The were some genuinely funny ( I laughed out loud a few times) and the pace would pick up a bit in between long repetitive sappy flashbacks , both for the ML and FL and also the directors replayed scenes long into the next episode. Too many tropes - actors did a good job, and I liked all of them actually but the script needed a good workover edit beforehand - not their fault. Honestly this drama takes the prize for most time FF'ed by me - I rarely if ever do that.

I too saw it pick up but, eh. She seemed like his noona but he's older than her IRL and that didn't even help. I think his posture or the same baggy black clothing, and flicking his hair like guys do in high school, he didn't seem 'competant' in a general way. I can't put my finger on it. (I already commented on his teeth - I'm really digging myself in here 😭🤣)

I was strangely focused on his teeth though when he smiled - they look like dentures. They're probably veneers but they're almost all the same size/shape. I can't help it! Don't kill me people. He was fine otherwise.

The original novelist knows how to write but he himself says he lets the characters just "run amok' themselves at times- not sure how much license was taken by the screenwriter. (note - i thought she threw it in the planter and so he could pick it up : it was a hand off no?) I was more driven crazy by everyone's fingerprints -everywhere, but later I thought they really only had a short-term plan, not to get away with it in the long run, more as a preferred solution to suicide I guess.

I almost didn't get past first 2 eps because it seemed so over the top and a bit boring while intense (odd combo but) I thought it was going down a fairly predictable path. Glad I was wrong. It's not long and well acted - it's worth it! (I also really liked 'My Name' as well btw)

I remember the watching the French orig - it was good but I really think the Korean one can be better. Can't wait.

Definitely can see it. And considering there is so much hidden here - from her perspective, and the killings themselves, it'd be really interesting actually.

I think it is an expansion on 'oh my god' which is pretty common and popular to say in english right? So linguistically it would be taking that pattern and just sticking other nouns/noun phrases in place of 'god': Oh my xyz! For native Eng speakers it's either Oh my, oh my gosh, my gosh, my god, oh my god - and that's it though.

I finished ep9 last night and I don't think I'm up to it - nobody is home this week and I'm by myself. Too much right now. Am thinking of AoS and come back to it next month Hongrang in a few weeks?! I just don't want another tragedy type rn.

So I just can't watch the last 2 eps here (cannot do an ending like that right now) and I want to slide right over to Alchemy of Souls but I need someone to tell me that the ending is a bit more 'positive'? Not sure how to phrase it - need some input here!! Thanks

Are you okay?? She's 45 and she has a US born husband - stop. She could be thinking that time is running out. Skip the drama about M-cult. It's insulting to her for starters.

This drama is soo underrated imo. It was done so well, the acting, the conflict, the humor; I haven't seen it in years but it still gives me happy feeling remembering it. I think Japan does this style so well. More people should try and find it -and I need to watch again!

With this type of drama one almost has to, but others may have better recall than I do. I really envy those people who bring up a 10 yr old drama and remember the character's names!
