watched this and felt my blood boil for half of the show until i gave up. i was pulled in and kept going because someone mentioned in the comments that the female lead is capable and i wanted to see how this was pulled off. how? it was the female lead that pissed me off the most and then the remaining females. i honestly think the writer has a negative view of women... and is classist (the case with most content from China, it's worse hearing it so blatantly in the dialogue ). and the characters were all so unreasonable and all the plot devices. the script itself is subpar. a whole reel of frustration.
rant -- i seriously, for the first time, hate-watched a drama. this is soooooo bad. the actors are stiff, the characters are poorly written especially the female lead could give a class on being a doormat, and the script is recycled mediocrity.
@ episode 13 - i really liked so many moments of this drama. i especially will watch anything shao bing is in. at this same time, i feel i have to grind my teeth to make it through each episode because the stuff about dreams and team spirit is soooooooooo in your face and preachy. i will continue to see if i can make it through because i was totally in tears at episode 11.
i really have to praise this drama. i think the last time that i watched a chinese production that still had me…
in addition, the background music and sound effects need praise for tolerable levels and appropriate mood. the overall visual editing is not my cup of tea but i love the animated sequences.
i really have to praise this drama. i think the last time that i watched a chinese production that still had me hooked near the half way mark despite it's length was in 2015. nirvana in fire, the disguiser, tiger mom, go princess go...that was a special year. i have not rolled my eyes, ff'd generously, cringed (ok, the fl cries a little too much for my taste but it makes sense), or wanted to off a dumb character (usually female) the past 15 episodes. bravo for this wholesome and well crafted work! well done rookie leads!
by what standard? plus, you've only seen two episodes
if that is your personal feelings, you are more than entitled to it. also, i am not emotionally attached to the show in any way. i just cannot figure out what standard you used to measure the drama as being one of the greatest since the script, its execution so far, and the roles the leads play are all recycled ... i've followed seo in guk's career and this is the 3rd time in a row he's played this type of character. less than 20 % of the drama aired and literally nothing significant has happened.
I'm still in shock one hour after reading the news of Haruma's passing. I was wondering why none of his works came up in my searches lately and thought he was taking an hiatus. Will miss this beautiful and tender soul.
