Nothing much in the first two episodes, well, except for the full-on bb.q commercial. I was just... it was like...…
Oh man, I can't take LMH's acting seriously - I'm a bit addicted because of my fond memories of the utterly ridiculous BOF. There's a perpetual smirk on his face when he's supposed to be romantic, stiffness in his body when he's supposed to be serious, and all-around goofiness when he's supposed to be comedic.
BTW, if you didn't think LMH was handsome enough, just check out all the characters in this drama - male and female - who stan him.
Nothing much in the first two episodes, well, except for the full-on bb.q commercial. I was just... it was like... seeing something shocking before my eyes that I couldn't look away from. I don't know man...I think I'm traumatized. *head desk*
This makes me think of American tv. With American tv shows, the whodunit is usually any actor who's been highly visible in other shows. Even if they weren't a villain before, I am always like...he's the bad guy, yup, I just saw him in the episode of a current/recent airing show.
Seriously, I can't even finish Ep.2. From the space looking suits that remind me of star trek to the seemingly useless bionic abilities to American-esque sci-fi vibes, this show feels stale. Nothing in this drama resonates with me. I think this is a drop.
As much as I loved the romance and laughs in this drama and watched it because of Pope and it’s amazing OST, I pretty much didn’t care for it. Particularly, anything having to do with Karakade. I hated thedrama’s treatment of KK’s character as evil along with its sympathy with and tolerance of the “truly evil” social norms of the time - its attitudes toward women and its brand of classism. I find the drama seriously problematic because the discrimination is religious and tied in with ideas of good and evil. One thing that stood out to me during my watch, was that Karakade was written so extreme in her response to other people hurting her that you can’t help but dislike her behaviour and even want her persecuted in the afterlife. But, honestly, I found the bullying behaviour of the mother-in-law, Por Det, as well as his beloved quite repulsive and felt for KK even though places the responsibility of the wrongs on KK and leaves Kade to atone for them. Sigh, no amount of fluff in a drama and tooting only the positives can shut my eyes to its glaring problems and the injustices it tolerates in the name of history and entertainment.
I spent my late preteen/mid-teen years in love with this guy. I stayed up late Friday nights waiting to see if the multicultural channel would show his movies and when it did, I swore I would marry a Chinese man. I haven't thought about him in years but feeling nostalgic today.
this show captures my attention but i still find it all over the place. there is no real intrigue just continuous new information. it's like weaving a web that, at the moment, seems tangled to me. i hope the resolution is satisfying.
