Title The Nokdu Flower Spoiler
She is a sevant/slave. Probably she was raped in 15 or 16. It could be understandable and coherent.
the legal marriage age of noble women was 14 at that time. brides would be married younger if they were of the lower class. she was raped at an age younger than 14 . i'm gonna say 11 or 12 by what they hinted at later in the story.

King2Hearts is not a good example of leaning on a partner role reversal. It's a trope in itself that's used in eastern/western drama/movie. It is where the man comes home to find home/rest in the bosom or skirts of mother or lover. A role reversal would be if they portrayed a woman doing this.

Title Before We Get Married Spoiler
One ep in...Male lead is a stalker/jerk/fboy. While main female is indecisive and weak willed. You know where…
Are we watching the same drama? I don't think it's the typical dramaland scenario.

Yes, the ML surely is a jerk and is manipulative but I don't think the drama is selling him as an ideal like they do in a typical romcoms. He has self-awareness, calculative, and impulsive around the FL. Despite the flaws, I think he's a pretty deep character. I also think the FL is the opposite of what you described. She's quite normal and mature in fact. However, the fact that none of her friends know about her boyfriend is a bad sign to me. That means this guys is very controlling. She's beginning to build awareness around the dynamic of her relationship but is attached to it and will not let go so easily so she's trying to assert herself (2nd ep). This is the nature of a lot of relationships in the real world. Also, I could tell from the get-go that the ML's girlfriend is not so sweet as you put it. There is something clearly off about her from the texts to the first scene with her. The second episode defines her this a bit more.

I'm glad you will continue to watch, because if feels authentic and I think it will be executed well.

i've been vacuum from tw-drama for sometimes because cannot find anything interesting like the way they were..…
After all these years, I still think that TW dramas have the chemistry thing down out of all the countries -that is when they do it right. I feel like their sweet spot is a fine mixture of fact and fantasy.

Title Abyss
I'm enjoying this drama at ep 7-8! The beginning of that episode creeped me out I felt like I was in the room…
Sometimes a production company/station will piggy back a show's couple on another to attract viewers. It didn't work for me because I cannot stand this one.

Wow people these days are triggered by everything. First of all I wouldn't really call this "mockery". It uses…
If I am triggered by this, why would you make a comment on it? You could have just offered your opinion about this issue instead of trying to discredit what I have to say by saying , in other words, that I am being too sensitive about it.

In Big Bag theory, I don't think they take a white peron and paints his face brown and call him indian. Neither do they use one to mock the way a south indian person might speak English. There are other issues as well including the fact that he also turns out to be this super muay thai guy. All put together, there is a huge element of racism in this show.

I don't really follow the show BBT all that much, so I never saw the mockery of Raj as you pointed out but if that's the case then it's just as repulsive and I wouldn't find it funny. A woman with an hijab wearing a bikini is pretty bad but, in this case, it is insidious because, as with your comment, it's being excused away.

Title Beautiful World Spoiler
the acting here was a little too over the top and it's not like i haven't seen this story or these characters elsewhere. this drama is a major disappointment for me because, since they approached the subject, i thought they had something different to say. however, there wasn't much available in the plot. i just got a storyline that traversed little distance, not much character development, and a main character who was in a coma until the penultimate episode (16 episode framework). hmm...

Title The Crowned Clown Spoiler
I started watching and was gripped by how dark and intense it was and yet I was nervous that I would be duped. At first, I thought "this character better get the girl he's so complex". Then I saw the clown. I started to suspect that it wouldn't end the way I wanted with this amazing character, so I skipped to the last episode. Lo and behold, the clown got the girl. So glad I missed a headache of a show. I still love YJG's acting. I imagine he'll have a long career with the years he already has under his belt.

can't finish this. it's soooo boring. it was clear that the role was written for the actor like all his other dramas. his past dramas were excellent, but here, i wasn't impressed. i have nothing to say for the FL.

"He's an idol that the general public love, who manages to "convert" fans to listen to EXO and has more achievements and endorsements than one person can know what to do with."
Are you saying that most fans who listen to EXO become EXO fans because of him and not other members? The last part of your statements sounds like fangirling and doesn't contribute much to your article.

wow, william chan... i cannot stand his acting even with a ten-foot pole. i find he takes himself way too seriously and appears egocentric. tbh, i cannot tell if it's his real personality or if that is the way he's been marketed (he may be, in reality, a nice guy and a good musician -- haven't heard his music). still, i dropped every one of his dramas because of his "i'm too cool for school" vibe in combination his mediocre acting skills.

The blatant mockery of the "Thai" in this drama is repulsive. The country recently caught flack for doing "blackface." I hope they learned their lesson and will stop using outright prejudice towards minorities as humour.

Wow. That was so boring and sappy. I feel bad for JKY. He's totally been typecasted since My Ajusshi.
