I wonder how people will react when popular novels and manhwas like jinx , pearl boy , painter of the night ,…
read them all but found this episode highly disturbing. showing r as sexy times (hua's pov) is a blatant disregard for the physical and psychological harm to victims and this character is a repeat offendar at the level of the psychological violation.
i'm used to abo, but this is on a whole other level of ick particularly in this medium where so many eyes are on the material before the final cut.
i get that it's where china's at in terms of it's own bl content evolution, but wow. this is a hard no.
okay. this show is super disturbing. i'm okay with psychologically dark content, but this beyond the pale. the 2 ML's I would stay away from in rl...and in fiction. there is nothing romantic about the two relationships and to market them as such is what is highly disturbing.
Okay. Me thinking ah I miss pre BL takeover lakorns let me check out one with epic pining. Finally decided on Buang Banjathorn 2017. Me being like, why does this unimpressive guy (that was what I remembered from my first watch a few years ago) seem familiar? Then. me being like what!!?? APO!!! 👀
And where did I comment about high school innocent romance. If you want to make a comment about my intellect first understand what I wrote and don't make assumptions about what you think I mean.
I didn't suggest it a queer story specifically and I never called BL frivolous. I also didn't like L in the C so never had that convo. In any case, I'm not interested in the broader conversation. I'm just saying I don't see it fit into the genre. It isn't that deep on my end.
I am not sure why you assume that l think of bls as a negative or immature genre. When I mentioned age, I meant the subjects of bl stories.
I actively watch and read bl content and except for some thai pulp have seen most series.
If you want to give it that broad meaning then go ahead (I know some fans extend the term yaoi); however, I will contend that it's a specific genre with specific tropes and specific visual language that doesn't cover all gay/queer romance and in that sense this drama is not a BL,
It can be all of that (''political and social history'') and still be a BL :)
I consume BL media and this doesn't read 'boys love' to me. There is no shade invovled merely an observation of the visual language and the tropes. I don't have all the technical knowledge to explain the ins and outs but I know a BL when I see one and I know other queer/gay romance that don't fall into the genre when I see one.
Why is it that I need to watch the episodes multiple times to take it all in. It's crazy good storytelling. The visual language (ending scene opening door looked like the turn of a book page), the lighting, the camera mirroring the character pov; the poetic language; the muscal language. Then there are the characters moving in and out of each other's space and the glimpse into their internal space. This show seriously. It's unraveling me.
This is a beautifully conceived project. I hope it remains as elevated until the end. Also so happy to see Son.…
This show made me lose my ish. I had to rewatch and dissect it a few times. As a musician, I am so down with the ost and the sound design. Well done BOC.
literally i can't forget the last scene lol i am confused as well because he has a wife and all lol but the chemistry…
what about the fact that her father killed his lover and then forced him to marry her. as far as i can tell from what we've seen they hardly spend time together. i'm not promoting cheating but context matter, no?
marriage at it's basics is a contract. if your are threatened into a contract, isn't there something morally questionable about it as cheating? both need to be weighed in the context of the story.
in any, i think the story will punish the cheater in someway as always and they are teasing a love line between the wife and the subordinate. though, i can't see that blossoming because then she wouldn't be the scandalized maiden. i'd welcome but would be surprised if they treated the characters with kindness at the end.

It's not about female lawyer vs the male lawyer but rookie vs experienced just like Suits, The Auditors, Good…
I didn't say the show was about that and I don't really care about gender politic. I was talking about the description.. The last time I made a comment about this issue was about 10 years ago. so you can scroll on by if you don't agree.

Anywho.
