i think you misunderstood my question. Before Netflix came to the kdrama market and bought dramafever, etc, kdramas were mostly filmed (if not all) in a way that the writer was writing later episodes based on the earlier ones' viewership reception. I am asking if this was the case from this drama. Or, if the entire drama was filmed and then all the episodes aired. I have a feeling that this show did the old schedule, but I don't know. I can't find the info.

It's been a while since I've hated a Kdrama this much and the drama isn't even that bad. It's just because of a type of central character in a story that I can't stand and how the other characters play their part in the story. I thought I saw the last of her kind about 5 years ago, but she has ressurected. OTT is the candy girl virtuous doormat type all over again https://girlmeetsdramaworld.wordpress.com/2016/09/19/k-drama-101-what-is-a-candy-girl/. The kind that showed up a lot in dailies but also in spunky version in weeklies, OTT feels like the weeklies version of the character when young and the dailies version once she marries. I have such a beef with this kind of insufferable character that I tolerated while learning Korean. The thing that annoys me in this drama is that the writers don't feel honest in their writing of OTT. She feels like a post #metoo candy girl which is seems an oxymoron. Maybe it's because I have spanning 20 years of Kdramas of my watchlist, but this show frustrates the heck out of me which leads me to wonder what the current kdrama watcher finds so amazing about her. My other issues with the dramas is the ML is too much into the female and doing everything for her sake like the MLs in Cdramas. The FL also takes on the society's male role and a higher class identity and the the ML on the the opposite. Even the SML is trans and takes on a lower class. This would never fly during that era based on the ideology, especially with the ML. Too much wish fulfillment. Not to that gender and class can't receive treatement in a Sageuk. The way it is treated in this context that frustrates.

it's been years since i've seen a story like this. the last one coming out of taiwan. i remember when i first came across such a premise and how it shattered my worldview. like, what if? i love the hopeless romatic nature of the story. it seems almost brave to tell this kind of story today.

an industry full of greedy abusers who were dismissive of her issues and seemed to have worsened her depression, which could have eventually taken her to the point of no return.

I'm writing regarding the statements that I saw. Regardless of intention, I just hope people stay out of her private life and give her space to heal. As a fellow artist, I would like to ask that our communities respect what the artists wish to share or not share about themselves.

Also, reading through the mindfield of "news" about this situation, I saw statements abouts fans having a right to know about artists and demanding the company share information with fans. This seems so ludacris and, not to mention, invasive and aggressive.
I really hope that that ZLS will be given appropriate privacy she deserves especially so that she can recover her mental health. I'm sure being exposed to rumours about one's situation does not help with a person's mental health recovery.
Key points here, "I fully support the idea that, at any time, one can choose to pursue a career they aspire to. You always have the right to escape a situation that exhausts and torments you. If you want to stop, you can stop at any time. You are free, and you can also be brave", and here, "I understand very well that I don't have the right to want everything or to expect my friends, parents, company, and everyone around me to be perfect. They've never hurt me and have done their best to protect me — that's enough [for me]."
I appreciate that people get into impossible contracts with the nature of industry, but I respect that ZLS makes these official statements so that others can stop narrating her story for her.
I do wish her a safe group of people surrounding her, increasing wellness, and a fruitful life -- whether she returns to the screen or not.
