For me I like the lead characters, Li Da (I find her funny and think she is just nosey not really that bad), Wu Fei and that is about it. The problem I have with the drama is the cheating husband trope that is played off a comedic relief. It is not funny and their relationship will end with one of them dead if they don't divorce. (You cant change someone's nature.) If the cheating trope was not included I think I would like the drama more. It is watchable because the lead to put it plainly. (If you are looking for something amazing I personally don't think this is it, best to watch with no expectations.)

I agree i appreciate that they took all that time to lay out the foundation of the drama because lately the foundation tends to get crammed into 5 episodes. This felt very classic kdrama unlike recently where it (ep) is like 40mins

It is interesting because if you pay attention you can see the writer making parallels between Yang Hua and Wenyu(the cheater). Both want to be independent from the "family" but one is not appreciating what it mean to be independent and the other does. Ones a jerk the other is considerate.

The first introduction he is hiding a women in his hotel room. second he is chatting on the phone with said woman. third he goes out drinking with a bunch of strangers and is partying with other women as if he is not married. It is odd that you would say meimei is doing more damage to their relationship than wenyu when he is the one hurting them. Since he knows what type of person she is he should have a sit down talk with her and try to work it out but he is a jerk and does not care for her feelings. It is really not prejudice when we see his behavior and people have commented on it. see if the first incident was treated like a misunderstanding then yes maybe but he doubled down on his scumminess after calling the character who he was hiding in the hotel. If his behavior end up being all a misunderstanding we can blame the director because everything we see alludes to him be a pos
