A fixer's job revolves around solving others' messes. They are like lawyers but unlike lawyers they do it the illigal way, they get their hands dirty while doing their work, mostly working in the shadows.
Ok, first of all the synopsis only gives the description of a character, it doesn't say who plays the said character. Let's not assume it has to be Ji Chang Wook. 2nd it says "his daughter's friend vanishes, marking the latest in a series of disappearances in Seoul's Gangnam area." It makes more sense if the said friend is an adult considering where she went missing. 3rd point... "The relentless detective plunges into a world of vice, drugs, and corruption, determined to unearth the truth that jeopardizes the city's affluent elite." It means he wasn't already aware of it, his investigation leads him to the world.
Now let's talk about Ji Chang Wook's character description we got earlier. It said He's a fixer who works for the organisation but then rebels as he finds out about the heinous activities being committed. That means he was already a part of this world. Unlike the detective character who finds out about it during his investigation.
Detective or Police officer is just a difference in interpretation but it's no doubt Jo Woo Jin, however you see it ( he's playing the detective or Police officer) not Ji Chang Wook. JCW is a fixer works for the organisation who due to witnessing the cruelty of criminal activity of the said organisation decides to join hand with the law officers and down the whole criminal organisation.
Does Netflix and Jtbc have some kind of bias against Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun, first they didn't do any kind of promotions for the drama. Today I saw that Jtbc's insta page and noticed that they are following every actor they have worked with (big and small) but they are not following either one of the actors (Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun)
