It’s not about whether Pyo Ye Jin is talented or not, it’s about fan demand. There are countless actresses that fans are actually hoping to see opposite Ji Chang Wook, and she simply isn’t one of them.
There are so many actresses fans are eagerly hoping to see opposite Ji Chang Wook, and the best you could come up with is Pyo Ye Jin, who isn’t even an A-list actress?"
When I asked others they said Cheng Lei's action scenes are good. But what's with this supernatural power he's just waving his hands and punching the ground and the enemy is dealt with (cringe and Ineffectual). It would have been so much better if they didn't add the supernatural element to the story and kept the action scenes more grounded reliant on an the actors physical prowess.
I commented about this last month. The fight scenes in this drama are honestly a bit weak. The camera work doesn’t…
Thanks for the insight. I completely agree with you about the camera work and the abrupt cuts (currently I have only watched the 1st episode). In my opinion, the best fight scenes out of all the C-dramas I’ve watched so far are from A Journey to Love. Liu Shishi is absolutely phenomenal in the series—Liu Yuning as well, but especially her.
Xie Wei is the perfect male lead for a revenge-driven drama. He embodies ruthlessness without cruelty, patience without passivity, and cunning without losing his moral compass. Every move he makes is deliberate—manipulating allies and enemies alike, often without them even realizing they are merely pieces on his chessboard. What makes him stand out is not just his intelligence, but his ability to stay ten steps ahead while waiting two decades to exact his revenge. His restraint and foresight elevate him beyond the typical scheming character, making him a master strategist and one of the most compelling aspects of Story of Kunning Palace.
but FL herself was not sure if it was true and how would ML believe her
She actually was sure. Remember the chart she prepared from the book she held after waking up and returning to the past? It clearly recorded future events. Plus, during her conversation with the ML, she even asked something like, “Would you believe me if I said…?” and he replied, “I will.” That shows there was space for her to share and for him to trust her early on.
The FL’s rebirth was completely wasted. Instead of seizing the chance to rewrite her fate, she spent years hidden away in the outskirts, oblivious to the treachery around her and showing no determination to seek revenge. Meanwhile, the ML had to endure immense suffering a second time — losing his uncle, his mother, and even being poisoned again in this life. While she hesitated and stayed passive, he shouldered all the pain and burdens alone. This made the “second chance” premise feel lopsided and underwhelming, as if his tragedy was repeated for nothing.
