It’s definitely more on the rom-com side. Even though the female lead has to deal with plagiarism accusations and a lot of hate, she doesn’t let it bring her down. Instead, she’s determined to face everything head-on and handle it fairly through the law. The male lead adds most of the comedy, since he’s quite petty in a funny way. His friend and coworker shows interest in the female lead, and he keeps trying to get in between them and limit their interactions as much as possible lol. The first episodes were definitely good. I’d recommend watching them to see if it suits your taste.
Everything from the OST, the cinematography and the dialogue between the leads feels so warm and comforting. I didn’t even realize how quickly I went through all six episodes 💓.
Bai Liangliang is truly a pitiful character. As herself, she has everything an ordinary person could wish for: she is beautiful, educated, and even without selling their startup company, she could have built a respectable and enviable career with her talent. So many people like her and want to be her friend, and that man was willing to pursue a relationship with her even without knowing her well, simply because she shines so brightly.
Yet instead of appreciating all of this, Liangliang is consumed by an inferiority complex rooted in her difficult childhood. She chooses to become a monster, making other people’s lives miserable in an attempt to rise in status through immoral decisions, when she could have led a genuinely happy life through her own abilities.
It’s truly saddening, especially when you think about how many people in real life let their past drown them, when they could choose not to be defined by it and move forward instead.
