It’s actually not too bad. It shows that people aren’t really rating the drama right now, which can be a good thing considering how common overrating and underrating have become. Once the drama finishes airing, I hope the ratings will stay balanced and subjective.
Bai Ju’s reason for the divorce feels emotionally selective. She says Shao Yunfei reminds her of Bolamula and that it hurts too much but if that were the real issue, distancing herself only from him doesn’t fully make sense. The rest of the team is just as tied to those memories. It makes her decision feel more like an excuse than a fully explored emotional truth. Perhaps something else bothered her in their relationship. As for Shao Yunfei as a father: Yes, he has flaws. Yes, he’s clumsy. But every time he tries to step up, he’s met with coldness, distrust and outright dismissal , especially the repeated “you’re not cut out to be a father” line from Bai Chu. Just some of my thoughts.
I'm currently at episode 10.With every episode that passes, I despise Prince Duan more and more. He’s such a hypocrite. He claims to hate his brother for being a tyrant and even plans a rebellion to overthrow him, yet he shows zero concern for the people. He’s perfectly fine watching them suffer and die of hunger instead of actually helping them. Every move he makes is driven by ambition any, not by any genuine care for the people he pretends to fight for.
Honestly, the first six episodes felt just okay. Nothing bad but nothing particularly impressive either. However, the last six episodes were a huge step up. The story became more engaging and now I'm enjoying it more and more.
While I totally agree with your comment I have to say I loove that your profile picture is Zhou Yiran!! Born to…
I feel you so muchh. The scenery in To The Wonder and Born to Be Alive is breathtaking, it makes me want to leave everything behind and disappear into those vast, open lands of Kazakhstan /Tibet/Mongolia. Just endless skies, mountains and silence.
I was always worried about He Qing Yuan but I truly believed he couldn’t die since he’s one of the main supporting characters. Turns out I was completely wrong. I'm such a clown 🤡. At this point, it feels like Bai Ju is the only one I can still put my faith in.
I know No Pain No Gain is a comedic drama but I can’t help feeling sad for Pei Qian. He’s the perfect example of “suffering from success.” His company is doing incredibly well, yet he can’t enjoy it at all because it leaves him with almost no money. While he watches his employees live comfortably, he barely scrapes by at the end of each month. Even setting the money aside, moments of pride and fulfillment turn into sources of stress and anxiety instead. He’s constantly on edge and forced to lie to the people who work for him. Even though the drama has plenty of fun moments, his situation is genuinely sad and I’m really curious to see what pushed that wealthy man to propose such an absurd idea in the first place.
