So I guess the express package drops on the 20th? That’s great, at least we won’t have to suffer through the…
There’s no express package for this drama, for the remaining four episodes we’ll only be getting one episode per day.

I actually found the third and fourth episodes even better than the first two, which made me really happy. It’s such a relief when a drama improves as it goes on.

The cinematography is so captivating! I love the contrast between the game, where snow and cool blue tones dominate, and reality, which is shown through the warm, yellowish colors of Longtang.

The slap Shan Bao gave on Yun Yin in the 18th episode was so satisfyinggg

I don't like the grandmother. She always tries to present herself as a smart person but her lack of critical thinking becomes obvious. As long as someone gives her a well-structured excuse, she immediately believes it without questioning anything. What makes it worse is that she’s fully aware of the antagonism between the sisters, yet she does nothing to address it, almost as if she enjoys watching them fight rather than encouraging harmony. On top of that, it’s frustrating to see how everyone around her constantly tries to please her.

Here we go again: yet another piece of content — a fairy tale in which a man is gradually reduced to a servant.…
Perfectly said. Unfortunately, this drama struggles with its portrayal of matriarchy and patriarchy. While it presents a powerful, female dominated family, it still embeds patriarchal values such as the presence of concubines and the division into different family branches which ultimately undermine true equality. On top of that, the male characters are noticeably underdeveloped and are mostly reduced to being suitors for the female lead. Their primary function becomes scheming for her attention and marriage often through petty or shallow actions, rather than existing as fully realized individuals.

I just finished episode 34 and only now realized that it’s been ten episodes since the leads confessed their feelings and became a couple. This drama is so enjoyable, I didn’t even notice how quickly the episodes flew by 🌸.

I also found that lecture really strange. It felt like it was trying to force real-life trading and business politics…
Personally, I had to pause the drama after the lecture scene. I enjoy political themes but I really dislike it when they try to shove in bits of completely unnecessary politics that feel forced and out of place.Like, we get it you want to rely on yourselves. There’s no need to push that message onto the audience.

It honestly felt like a subtle form of propaganda trying to slip by unnoticed, which was really strange. I’m aware of how Chinese censorship works and that context made the whole lecture thing feel so uncomfortable.

The last thing they needed to do is stick propaganda into this series and that’s episode 25 with that lecture…
I also found that lecture really strange. It felt like it was trying to force real-life trading and business politics into a work of fiction. The whole panel trading situation between the US, the EU and China may have happened in reality, but it was still odd how heavily the drama villainized the West.

That man honestly deserves this kind of people around him. I hope that his mistress will take all his money and ran away. 🤣
