Yes it was planned for laughs and even the characters found it funny because VC was playing a role he was clearly uncomfortable with. His cringing and him being uncomfortable were expected, i would be too if someone i didn't like touched me intimately. If it was VC doing that to a girl, no one would complain.
Well, honestly gay people are the nicest people ever, atleast the ones i have met but a gay person can be a bad guy if he wants to. Besides from the story narrative it made sense, VC is hurting someone who's behind his mom's suffering.
Ep. 8 my thoughts..."Son of a beach" typed by Jun Woo made me giggle under my noseI liked that in the end the…
Well the new guy was unlikeable, not because of his sexuality but his personality. The man has physically assaulted multiple people just because they wouldn't get into a relationship with him, he threatened VC's mother to stay in jail for a crime she didn't commit and god knows what he has done behind the scenes. I don't know why people are so pressed to connect sexuality to a person's personality. They didn't make fun of his sexuality but his personality.
What! That's not how the drama portrayed it at all. She broke up with because of her insecurities and fears. There's…
That was him and his infatuation with her didn't make sense but at the same time it was clear as day why JJ broke with SO and it wasn't for him. It was for herself. That was what we were discussing.
^^^Two kinds of people: Khankhan1234: a person who understands what it is to be humanly to humans. A person who…
Oh did that hurt your feelings? Then allow me to explain myself, i can form an opinion about a person on what he/she states. What you say explains what your understandings and perception is about a situation or a person. That gives a proper layout as to what i can think or be opinionated about someone and your statements gives me a valid reason to determine as what you're as a person.
I NEVER CALLED YOU A BAD PERSON. I called you someone i think is wrong. It's not about giving an explanation but about treating someone the way they deserve. I'm of the opnion that not treating someone the way they deserve or more accurately the right way, it makes you dead wrong. I think JJ was wrong in not providing a reason as to why she did it for 5 years because she didn't treat SO the right way and the way he deserved. An explanation as to why she can't be with him would have achieved the purpose.
We are discussing ideas and situations here and as i said, i formed an opnion based on that and came to the conclusion that you were wrong, I DIDN'T CALL YOU A BAD PERSON. Don't put words on me when i didn't even say it.
So your mindset and understandings would have been different if it involved real people? I tend to judge or make an opnion about characters and situations in a drama by the same way i would about a real person. I look at what is and what isn't, it doesn't matter if the people involved are real or not. I think that was the whole point of an argument; ideas and concepts of people not variables that changes for convenience.
Your point of "she didn't have to explain" made me think that you consider her not wrong here. I'm sure you can see why i would state something as "not caring about what others feel" because that's what JJ was to me. If my opnion still bothers you then let me correct myself, i should have said two kinds of opinions and yours stated that her inability to treat SO the way he deserves isn't something wrong and i whole heartedly disagree with that.

A person who states that the right thing to do as a human isn't to be a source of someone's pain, especially if that someone is innocent. real lampcap: A person who simply doesn't care about what others feel if it is not his pain or if he is involved.
I'm the former kind. Edit: correction: i wish to be the former
What! That's not how the drama portrayed it at all. She broke up with because of her insecurities and fears. There's…
The difference is the cause of SO being miserable for 5 years was JJ and her inability to have a normal conversation with him. He nevet did anything to hurt JJ, atleast not to the extent she did. He suffered, without a fault, because of JJ (for reasons that are unjustifiable) but JJ suffered because of her past and harsh life, never SO. She only considered herself in this whole scenario and i think JJ's character thought the same, since she felt guilty and even stated something along the line of "I took his smile so that i can be free of pain". There's no reason to sugar coat that when the writers clearly explained it.
He let her go because he got to see that it wasn't his fault and he deserved better. Put yourself in his shoes and think what would you feel at the time of hearing something (her apology) you needed to hear for 5 years! His feelings towards her at this point didn't make sense, as he still had feelings for her, and him trying so damn hard to love a beautiful person like YJ was so hard to watch.
That's the thing here. His feelings towards JJ didn't make sense anymore. He was a teenager when they broke and…
Fair enough. You can like it but i didn't and the reason i kept watching was because i started it. I always finish a drama even if it's terrible. Although i skipped half of the whole drama (season 1 and 2).
What! That's not how the drama portrayed it at all. She broke up with because of her insecurities and fears. There's…
You just explained why she did it and i understand that but it still was wrong. A TEENAGER KNOWS HOW TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND SHE DIDN'T DO IT EVEN AFTER 4 YEARS BUT KEPT RUNNING. Her age or feelings aren't a justifiable reason to hurt people. She didn't do the right thing when she was in school and didn't do it even after 4 years. The only one putting an effort till the end to understand their situation was SO (who kind of seemed miserable at that point) and not her. It should have been her trying to help him understand but she kept running and again because she felt guilty. Her feelings got in the way of her doing the right thing and it was wrong. IT ALWAYS WAS ABOUT HERSELF NOT SUNOH.
SO let go of her the moment she said sorry (her explanation wasn't in coherency with what we were shown in season 1) and wished her and his friend good.
not a spoiler actually...i still haven't watched this but why i feel like the drama is like my friend when i'm…
What! Watch the drama first, dude. SO's and JJ's situation doesn't at all fall into what you just described. SO's was the one broken up with for no reason and he was the one who was depressed for 5 years. JJ didn't even put an effort to ease the pain by giving an explanation. SO never mistreated her when they were in a relationship and he wasn't the one who broke it up. She was unfair to him not the other way around.
my thoughts on season 2:- came for the ambiguity -- like everyone, i really wanted to know who Jojo ended up with,…
That's the thing here. His feelings towards JJ didn't make sense anymore. He was a teenager when they broke and he was still in love with her for 5 freaking years and didn't move on from someone who hurt him. I would have understood his anger and frustration towards her (because you couldn't help that with a person who hurt you for no reason) but love? Hell no. The writer used him as a propp for the final couple and i was pissed at that. He should have been given his own storyline from the beginning of season 2, a storyline that didn't involve him loving JJ for no reason. If they were so bent on "love is a choice" scenario, SO was the perfect character to test that on. He loved hard and fell hard, it would have been more impactfull to watch him rather than JJ (who was in love with HY, as they showed in at the end, far before the ending) who fell in love with HY and made a choice on the basis of those feelings. Even though their falling in love and their relationship was so anticinematic, i would have swallowed it somehow if they put in an effort to show some development plot wise and not sideline main character for the convenience of a ship.
You loving HY×JJ relationship is a prospective and I'm fine with it. I felt nothing (as I've felt between the main couple of other dramas) except that they are there.
In an attempt to be realistic, they created an epitome of mediocrity. The "love is a choice" didn't have an effect because they portrayal of that was boring and they showed her falling in love with him even before making that choice at the end flashbacks which was kind of contradictory to what they writers wanted to say. There's a lot more than just the unfoldings of the ships that's bad about this drama. The consistent characterization of characters, an interesting plot, the development of characters, the process of transition in character change and an effort to make it interesting were all nonexistent here.
This is my opinion on why JJ left SO.SO was too big and heavy for JJ. She might be dragging down someone who is…
What! That's not how the drama portrayed it at all. She broke up with because of her insecurities and fears. There's no logic or reality to state that she did it for him or because he was heavy. She broke up with him for herself, to protect herself. While i would have been fine with that (nothing is wrong with prioritising yourself over others) but how she ignored his existence all together without explaining as to why she couldn't be in a relationship with him, that was a horrible thing to do to anyone let alone someone she loved. It was selfish of her to think about herself only and not be considerate towards what others would go through as a result of her actions. P.S: i never wanted them back together. There was too much pain and selfishness in that relationship.
Here's the reality of the situation; as a writer it should be essential element of writing something that could keep the viewers interested and keen on finding out more about the plot and characters but this drama failed terribly at that. This drama was so painfully boring that the writing mess ups far outweighed the message they were trying to convey.
Same people who say HY and JJ didn't have chemistry (which I disagree with cause I think they were quite cute…
Cuteness isn't chemistry. Don't refuse the obvious. They had no chemistry and when they kissed, i was more sure of it. Sunoh and his girlfriend had none either.
This drama is just bad and I'm surprised to see people justifying the fact that this does not deserve the ratings it is getting, when it clearly is a 6 and not more, simply just by stating that she ended up with the calm and patient one and we should focus on the message it sets out but that's just being illogical and biased. I never preferred anyone to end up with anyone and i just watched both seasons back to after someone (who I'm now angry at) recommended this to me. Now let's get to the "why is this a bad drama?". My priority in a drama, especially korean drama, are the characters and how much of an effort has been put into its characterization, development and consistency. If the writer makes me feel attached to the characters or make them interesting enough, i will swallow no matter what crazy the plot throw my way. At the end of this show, i DIDN'T give a damn about the main characters and i was pissed that other characters from season one were sidelined for the main romantic arc to occur. I will admit to the fact that HY was the safe choice for Jojo but what i didn't understand is why she took 5 years to tell the truth Sun-oh about their breakup and even after that didn't tell him the actual reason (her insecurities). I was like what! It made me hate the main character! I kind of knew she would end up with HY and i was happy about that but when she did, it was so sudden and without any build up. There was NO CHEMISTRY between them and the kiss scene was just bad. For a drama which has nothing to offer except romance, i expected good chemistry atleast but didn't get it.
SO's character had the grey in it. He wasn't your perfect good boy but one with flaws and i liked that since i was waiting for the character developments but it never happened. His whole character was just used as propp for the ending couple and that says a lot about the writing. His character could have been so much more than propp since he had the potential but the writer needed us to feel that he was just like every single other korean drama 2nd lead for no reason. His ending was trash, it didn't make sense that he was trying so hard to love someone. I felt bad for his girlfriend (i forgot her name).
The characters had no development and their characterization was so unlikeable. The plot was boooooring as it addressed nothing but a love triangle and Jojo's efforts to achieve happiness in a fantasy of her own, THE APP. That didn't make sense to me.
I don't care how realistic it is or what message it set out. I wouldn't watch a Kdrama for the realism of it, i watch it for a fun distraction. Besides, i wasn't okay with Jojo's character and didn't care about who she ends up with, so there went my relatablility factor. It didn't provide anything interesting, new or a dynamic which i could root for. It had terrible writing but the actors did an okay job. I don't why people are focusing only on the couples when there's so much more wrong about this.
Well, honestly gay people are the nicest people ever, atleast the ones i have met but a gay person can be a bad guy if he wants to. Besides from the story narrative it made sense, VC is hurting someone who's behind his mom's suffering.
