On Love Alarm Season 2 Apr 3, 2021
If you want a story about realistic love triangle and about potential relationships that aren't meant to stick, watch "little women". It's a Hollywood movie and it practically screams as what love alarm could have been despite the JJ×HY ending. The movie never treated It's main characters for the convenience of the main couple or nonsensical romance, it provides characters with their own storylines and excellent closures (both the main and supporting characters). When a 2h and 15m movie could pull it off, i don't know why a 6h+ mess couldn't.
This is just a mess and i don't know why people presume that it's just because of the ending when that's far down the list of things terrible about this show.

Lee Soo Hyuk is a Second Male Lead AGAIN?!?!?! Someone cast him as the first male lead for once, I can't handle…
It's not LSH that isn't getting the girl, it's the characters he portrays.

I watched the drama from S1 - S2 without the wait and I gotta ask what is so endearing about Sun Oh?Sun Oh has…
There's nothing endearing about any of them, not even HY. There's no element of writing that can evoke relatablility or intrest in him. HE IS JUST A PERSON WHO LOVES JJ. A character needs far more than that to be taken seriously. It's like his life depended on it.

Are we seriously talking about SO being sefish in comparison to JJ? That's actually funny. SO is the one being treated like the worst without any fault of his. He cared about JJ and he loved her with all he had even when she didn't deserve it. "Giving her anxiety"? Give him a break. The man lived a miserable life for 5 years just because our "precious FL" couldn't afford to have a conversation with him based on truth. If anyone is being inconsiderate and selfish here, it's JJ and i don't know why you ignored everyone about her only to blame SO.
I admit that SO's character was kind of a disappointment in season 2 but that's only because the writers wanted us to accept HY as ML. The webtoon has a far mature SO than that and season 1 SO is far more realistic and relatable as a character (he's flawed and qualified at the same time, that provides more to me as a person than HY, who's just there for JJ). He had the most potential as a character and I'm not talking about him ending up with JJ. I was fine with him being himself without JJ and have a closure and good character development which didn't happen except the ending but it seemed so fake.

It's not about who she should've picked, it's about how she should've treated the both of them. She didn't deserve any of them.

I cant get over the fact that it took her a fkn marathon to overcome her issues she had for 20+ years hahahaha…
Yes like it would magically make her less of a mess.
Therapist needs to take fu*king notes.

This is a rare drama I have watched in which the main female lead is in charge of her love life and makes her…
The whole drama showed her unable to make a choice and when she did, it didn't make sense. The "why" and "how" of her every decision never did. The FL in this drama is far from someone you just explained. Idk what drama did you watch!

I don't know why people seem to like this show only because it showed a probable realistic situation of JJ not choosing her first love (which i am totally okay with) and ignore the rest of the messy and unrealistic aspects of the show.
They tried to go for realistic portrayal of the character's life events but what they achieved was total mediocrity and not very impactfull reality.
Here's a review which explains it perfectly;

I think Han seo sent those thugs to Chayoung to confirm his suspicion and that's why he was so calm after Junwoo…
I don't think it's serious to the extent of calling her his weakness, atleast not untill now. He seems to be infatuated with her, infatuation fueled by his obsession, but not anywhere near genuine feelings that could count as a weak point. Sure HS may think so but JJW doesn't seem to. I mean the man hasn't made an effort yet to even kill VC, the person really responsible for everything.

So our Jun Woo likes Cha Young
"our"?
I am kind of scarred and repulsed by him but yeah he appears to like HCY in his own twisted way but we know where that's going to lead.

The writer wrote "Tunnel" and it was amazing. I just hope the writer brings in the same amount of effort and adds more to the original material (webtoon).

So this what the writers of season 2 did to SO's character:
1) They literally made SO a side character in season 2 whose only contribution to the plot is to be there so JJ can end up with HY. Note that SO was the ML in season 1 and majority of people were interested in how his character arc and development will take place in season 2 but it didn't happen.
2) His character literally stays the same after 5 years (every other character involved stays the same too). His transition from a teenager to adult didn't take place mentally, a transition that should be visible in reality.
3) He's somehow depicted as this pathetic and miserable person who doesn't have anything other in life except to cry over JJ when season 1 showed far more than that. Season 1 SO had issues and strengths, someone who had the most set up character development stimulants (his pain and past) and transitional effects (his issues and darkness) amongst all the characters. He was like Steve Harrington (not as bad) from Stranger Things but they turned him into Theon Greyjoy of Game of thrones from season 5.
4) His character never got the closure his arc needed especially when every other character was given one. Remember his character's ultimate closure should have been his realisation that he deserved to be happy and should learn to live for himself. They didn't give him that closure. They just put a nonsensical attempt to end his character by forcing him with someone who he didn't even feel attracted to let alone love (since he didn't ring her love alarm). He never learned to be just himself without trying so hard to even fall in love.

That's just butchering of a character who had the most potential and intrest from viewers.

P.S: I'm not at all saying that his closure should have been him ending up with JJ. I'm against that ending. I believe a person (JJ) who can hurt someone (SO) once, so easily, will certainly do so again if the need be required.

Mainly because it's easier to understand him as he is open about his feelings whether it's good or bad... He is…
Yess that too.

I liked the season 1 SO or more accurately i sympathised with him. He was a person who had a very sad life and…
Exactly, like how do people connect with a character who is known only for having a crush on JJ than a character as multi-dimensional as SO of season 1!

SO is always ML and HY is 2nd ML through out the story. But MDL swapped their position as soon as they knew who…
Well the ML shouldn't be identified as the one who the girl ended up with but the one who the story revolved around more hence having more screen time, by that definition HY is the ML in season 2. You could count on your fingers the amount of time SO showed up on screen. It's not about characterization of characters or who the girl ended up with, the ML is one of the focal point in the story and HY was in season 2.

People, like I've pointed out earlier, It's just a drama. YOU don't need to like it! But you also don't need to…
"It's just a drama" that's exactly why i can hate it if i feel the need to hate it. It's not like I'm hating the actors or crew involved, i hated the end product. I don't know why an emotion (hate) shouldn't be expressed by people who feels it towards a drama when other who love (an emotion) it aren't stopped from expressing it. Why should people suppress one and express other! Especially when i have valid reasons to hate it. Hate is just an emotion of intense dislike and if i am allowed to like something, i shouldn't be stopped from disliking things either.

The love alarm app shows if a person is attracted to you, not love. SO is literally passing through crowd and everybody's love alarm rings. THAT WASN'T LOVE BUT ATTRACTION. That being said, SO never rang YJ's (i feel heartbroken for her and little for him because he's forcing himself) love alarm, meaning he's not even attracted to her let alone love but people are saying that SO's (who's forcing himself so much to love YJ but is failing to even be attracted to her) ending made sense!
Let that sink in.

The character was a joke because of his personality. He literally was going to destroy a serious deal because of a person he met days ago. He was so clingy and knowing his past, i felt uncomfortable with him showing his affections because i feel that with every assault offender. The combination of his personality with his infatuation with VC's physicality made him a joke not his sexuality.
About him being bad, he wasn't the only one. Literally so many characters on this show are extremely disturbing and that has nothing to do with their gender or sexuality.
To the viewers, VC's reactions were more comical as he struggled so hard.
I would have loved it if they showed an LGBT member with likeable characterization but the writer didn't and I'm fine with it.

i also want to point out that homophobia isnt just a violent or repulsed reaction to gay ppl it also includes…
VC microaggressions weren't because of the sexuality of the character but because of his personality. The man is a physical assault offender for reasons of rejection from people romanticly and is forcing an innocent woman to stay in jail without any fault of hers, a woman who happens to be VC's mom. I would be angry at the thought of a person like him no matter what the gender or the sexuality. He is a unlikeable person who has done horrible things and i think it's okay to show dislike or anger towards him.
I loved that the writer portrayed something as males getting assaulted for sexual reasons. He clearly wanted a relationship from them but was rejected. It shows not only women are victims of assault but men are too.
