Seriously the support from CGI and the importance of it in a production like this is immense, undeniable. The battle on the sea was epic and spectacular!! I mean it isn’t perfect because the red glow did bounce off a little oddly against the very natural scenic ocean.
Also, throughout the entire series the glow from the sun, the sunlight just felt very unnatural, and I was taken aback in the first few episodes, coz it casted such a odd glare/tone/contrast against the whole set. Seriously, I’m surprised no one has commented on this, it was sooooo glaring.
But WOW. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 like really wow man. I love how they kept it relatively movie like, kinda real as opposed to CGI gaming.
Omg this is torture. I need all the episodes now 😭 Tencent take my money 🤣
I legit wish I can press an erase button in my mind… coz I read the novel, mostly because it was so short; super easy read and was accessible.
Sighs, now I’m caught between a rock and a hard place. I just want to forget both the series and the novel. Reading the novel to kill my curiosity surprisingly made it worse. 😱😱😭😭 the series is only halfway to 1/3 through… this is REAL torture.
I’m just going to stop completely and wait until the entire thing is complete. I think it’s April 11 or something.
I need to say that this show has great bgm. All the ost is amazing but they use them so well in capturing moments.…
Totally agree. I think wot is more amazing is the first couple of episodes whereby it was the CGI chicken/pheasant as the lead…. There was a lot of short accompaniment music which was super befitting to all the comedic moments and also the CGI chicken. 🤣🤣🤣 I was actually dancing to the beat to some of the accompaniment tunes, it’s ultra cute.
This is so……….. 😳 I have no idea wot to make of it….
I’m kinda surprised Hu Ge and Leo Wu took this on. Yes, I get it…. It’s trying to do that whole slice-of-life/mundane genre which Koreans excel at… and also that undeniably sloooooooowwwwwww pacing which is very apparent in some notable Korean productions…. This however is a rarity in Mainland productions….
This has My Liberation Notes vibes + Move to Heaven theme… So it’s actually ultra somber daily life (a lot of silent scenes) supposedly with a deeper latent meaning….. but 70% into the movie and I actually still don’t know wot I’m watching…. lol, it’s neither relaxing/calming nor entertaining…. 🤣 and the plot (which from the first scene itself it’s super obvious that it’s Xiao Yin/Leo Wu) doesn’t hook you in to keep you curious except wonder if I will learn a life lesson at the end of the movie?
when lyu tries to expand chulan's grandfather's memory orb, why did they go to different dimension? I mean he…
Yea, it’s still a mystery to whether he still is alive…. He could be. So he could be ‘hiding’ in 24 Valley all along whereby time stops. Coz if otherwise he is like 150 yrs old. Or close to 200 yrs old.
when lyu tries to expand chulan's grandfather's memory orb, why did they go to different dimension? I mean he…
Because Chulan’s grandfather himself is the key to the other dimension, meaning Zhang HuaiYi and likely the others who were in 24 Valley back then, 9 of them, have the ability to move in and out of 24 Valley. He was able to go in and out of it with his mind+Qi. I suspect Qi Apothesis is the key to opening up the portal to 24 Valley. Duan MuYing did kinda hint and articulate that opening the portal isn’t something straightforward, so I believe the author intentionally left it as part of the mystery. They might address this in the 2nd season.
It wasn’t Tian Jin Zhong’s memory orb. They managed to get the grandfather’s own memory orb from grandfather corpse. They stole his corpse in the first few episodes.
I’m assuming you meant Lu Liang has seen/scan the orb before prior but didn’t trigger the dimension, so there is a lock placed on part of Huayi’s memories which he wasn’t able to unlock prior having the Double Quan Palm. So he mentioned in Ep 26 that once he break that lock it’s likely time and space will shift…
The whole… dramatic “I-love-you-and-can-die within a week thing” kinda thing is………. 🤔🤔🤔 sighs. I can’t get into it anymore, or is it coz of the acting or is it 12-episodes…. Or is it coz I’m no longer a teenager…. ??? 🤣🤣🤣 😒😒😒
Fingers crossed it doesn't get pulled at the 11th hour again!
The trailer looks so damn good, am surprised. Kinda neutral towards the leads. The colour grading, wardrobe and action scenes reminded me of Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster….
I seriously cannot understand why this season has been rated so poorly in comparison with the first one. YB1 was…
I think so too!!! I nearly skipped this coz of the MDL score. Luckily I checked the Douban score…. S2 actually has a higher score than S1 albeit only by 0.1 🤣 think the MDL score could be related to the ridiculous Eng subs…. It’s only translating 60-70% of the original script accurately.

Surprisingly it’s on gimy with subtitles…

But it only has 12 episodes……? 🤔
