The author of the novel also wrote the novel of Better Days… novel is really short, only 31+1 chapters…. But damns, the novel is intense in terms of emotions…. Not so sure if I’m going to continue watching this after reading the novel. 🤣🤣🤣

I find the FL here very intriguing as well….. like most of the dramas nowadays have a FL who is very strong, independent but always tries to strive for perfection, kind-hearted, have it all….
The FL here is beyond that, she’s so unique, mysterious, dark, cold, ambitious, self-centered but also shows that she fears, is flawed, has nothing aside from her work, no family, no romance, and not even a house etc….. I still can’t quite figure her out yet…. Love it.
I think he's more handsome in here and looking very very natural. I think it's the weight changes and makeup.
I actually don’t think it’s surgery.… do human facial bones also shift gradually as we age? Or maybe it’s the facial muscle and fat. I don’t know, he defo looks very different in Hotel King and he also has a shirtless scene there. He already has 6-pack there… quite similar to his scene in Tale of the Nine-Tailed, I actually think he is more buffed in TotNT…
Honestly speaking I definitely wouldn’t have thought he was good looking if I had watched Hotel King first. But like in Goblin and Tale of the Nine-Tailed he was like wow… lol. 😮 esp in TotNT….. but he has a very different hairstyle there. I only clicked on Hotel King after out of curiosity….. didn’t even complete 1 episode.
he's like the opposite of the emperor from Love like the Galaxy. That guy was the best. best uncle, best emperor.
lol, but the character in LlTG was rather unrealistic…. They made that role very unconventional and different…. The guy was super sweet and hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣

Kudos to the actor playing the Emperor, Hai Yi Tian….. really brought the character to life, I’ve only ever found Joy of Life’s Emperor, Chen Dao Ming amazing… He still tops the list but Hai Yi Tian made the role here pretty memorable.

I think the actor, Hai Yi Tian, who plays the Emperor is really amazing…. The way he smiles, and also the subtle changes in his facial expression gives me the creeps. If I had a family member who cares for me in the same way as he does, I think I would have nightmares everyday. 🤣🤣🤣

She didn’t explicitly state that the shaman was there to “protect” the crew…. But instead she mentioned that there was a real shaman present the entire time as a consultant and before the shoot the shaman actually walked barefoot whilst performing some ritual across the entire mountain they were shooting at….

Totally agree. I watched the first few episodes the first time round and fell asleep…. And then….. I ended up persisting and became ultra hooked.
Read the novel, regretted reading…. And just… I don’t know. lol, all sorts of weird feelings about this drama. Wish I didn’t read the novel to kill my curiosity.
