I have to sayā¦. Cecilia Liu is justā¦.. mesmerising in this series. ššš
Iāve always been neutral towards her acting, only watched 1-2 of her works. BUT damnnnnsssā¦.. sheās justā¦. on a whole different level in this seriesā¦. Partially also because the scripted character/role is inherently very attractive, but she totally brought it to life AND owned it.
I mean, she is physically ābeautifulā, very proportionate and the gold standard of what is considered āChinese beautyā (not exactly my typeā¦). However, in this series sheās justā¦.. enchanting, making it very believable that she is LTGās ultimate love⦠esp with the whole teacher-motherly-sisterly psychological aspect factored inā¦
My eyes are just GLUED to her on-screen presenceā¦. I mean even I want to have her as a life-partnerā¦ š¤£š¤£š¤£ [please choose me! šš¼āāļøššš»š¤š»šš»āāļøā¤ļø]
can someone please recommend me more dramas like this
Master of my Own! Itās similar in the sense that the bits of the working/corporate life is also super realistic. Itās also based on a novel, most likely the author works in finance too, evident because of some fine details depicted in the drama. BUT⦠the romance is probably slightly clichedā¦.. I still really enjoyed it.
Meet Yourself. Also very similar vibes, messages sent and similar type of romance.
Iāve heard of another one but have yet to watch it. The Ideal City.
My Liberation Notes but that is more of a āart filmā or more of a niche type of drama, but the meaning/messages behind is really similar. This also has a romance kinda sub-theme.
I will admit that the actor playing the fruit loop is doing a very convincing job at it lol. I've never seen him…
Yes! And the thing is I usually roll my eyes at these kinda characters (for both men and women)ā¦. Coz they are usually annoying, revolting and it gets to a point whereby it becomes illogical. Iāve never seen him previously too but heās seriously super convincing. I think itās not easy to portray a realistic role like this and I actually find him pitifulā¦.
Damnsā¦. That ice-bath, forehead kissā¦ā¦ the chemistry couldnāt be more real!!! They do look really different physically, I.e they arenāt the best on-screen physical match, was neutral for me, but both the leads did an amazing job. All the supporting actors + actresses were also superb!
Special mention to the actor who plays Li TongGuang ! Like at the very least NO forced villain laughs and OTT extreme expressions, smart that they mixed it in with puppy eyes⦠He totally is a very believable obsessed first-love-crazed YOUNG lad. (Mainly believable coz the actor also looks really youngā¦. š¤£, highly plausible)
Actress who plays Yang Ying is also spectacular, having to pull off a female-as-male disguise, which is typically a joke, and then the maturity/aging challenge, no-easy-feat..
P.Sļ¼ ššš I totally want to just pay for all the episodes. This is real torture!! How can I buy all the episodesā¦.. š¢
Why am I liking this so much wth!! Ep 2 was phenomenal!! That last scene tho I was so angry for her!!! That damn…
LOL same! It has this mysterious dark vibe and of course the film set, props and wardrobes are superb detailed and tastefully done⦠this makes a significant difference⦠The music as wellā¦. Wow, the Mission Impossible rendition caught me off guard.
I couldnāt find much written up on the original French productionā¦. I wonder wot the mystery/thriller bit is all about. And damns, Lee Moo Saeng is damn good in the role. Crazy, annoying, charming, obsessive, intense and attractiveā¦. I wonder wot kinda role he plays here given he is the ML. Protagonist/Antagonistā¦. Grey? I canāt tell which side the FL is on eitherā¦.
She has definitely lost weight and she lost all the baby fat from her face. Kind of like Yang Zi also seems to…
Ah I watched 1/3rd of LLiT⦠she already lost all the baby fat there, so much so that I was surprised with her very high cheekbones. 𤣠So I donāt know. I canāt really put my finger to itā¦
I didnāt watch SotD⦠But she must have been very young thereā¦
Damns but she is really very alluring here. Lol, esp after todays episodes. Like the perfect balance between warm and cold. Esp with that face. š¤£š¤£

HELLO!! š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»
Huh, but in LLiT her face is already superā¦.. chiselled⦠boney⦠no? So much so that her checkbones was ultra prominent. Lol. I donāt know, maybe it was the weird comb-back hair thereā¦
Like her cheekbones are less high/protruding hereā¦. Hence why although she expresses a lot of the cold killer vibes through her eyes, I still find her veryyyyyy feminine. 𤣠or more of sexy actuallyā¦
Have to say Cecilia Liu became wayyyy more attractive in this series, I think itās probably partially related to the role, and also better makeupā¦.? Or she lost more weight vs Lost Love in Timesā¦.. or maybe it was they weird hairstyle there but the hair here is normalā¦.. I donāt know. Pretty sure itās not plastic/cosmetic surgery. š¤
But damns, sheās such an attractive character/ person hereā¦. My heart skips a beat for her in this drama.
Damn he is obsessed with her. Tonights episodes weren't giving what they needed to give. They need to release…
LOL, I thought so too, but it applies to the both of them! I think itās quite rare that in Cdramaland that both the leads are really on equal ground. Like basically two CEOsā¦. Or like two prominent lawyers⦠hence why I saw that someone recommended WoH as a similar dramaā¦
Well starting on the premise of equal grounds is greatā¦. BUT oh boy⦠lol. Damns, I wasnāt expecting so much jealousy and angst between the leads. Hahahah, it make sense though coz nobody is above or below the other AND they are ānormalā/flawed/realistic charactersā¦The way the screenwriter did it reminds me of modern day dating given all the advancement in technologyā¦. Like fancying someone happens quickly and it almost always starts off in a state of limbo, basically like wot the leads are going throughā¦. Some of their dialogue and interactions are surprisingly real-life.
ME TOO! I wish they released everything. But with the amount of heart tugging moments Iām going to try to stop watching this until they release all episodes. Itās getting stressful in a way with all these tension and uncertainty building upā¦. š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Well well well, looks like we got to the part with the annoying, delusional and crazy obsessive second lead who…
Lol, I had the exact same thinking with the episodes today⦠BUTā¦. Damns, this drama is kinda different. I just realised it isnāt adapted from a novel/webtoonā¦. And the background to the story is quite different. It is similar to WoH but thatās a BL⦠itās basically the only one I can think ofā¦.
I would suggest watching The sword and the Brocade and the Story of Minglan .The female leads are smart, strong…
I watched this thinking it was similar to the dramas you mentioned. BUT I realised like mid-way that this is a palace drama which got edited and changed apparently due to censorship, coz someone mentioned that it is so in the novel. If it was in a full fledge palace setting it would have made a lot more sense though the weird editing would still remain.
I actually think this is closer to Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace⦠like a lower budget version⦠and the execution isnāt as good. Lol, a messy versionā¦
I canāt wait for all the episodes to be out, going to hold it out!
