Lol. I like your last statement! I laughed…. everyone is so riled up by Song Jia’s character. I am too. Esp the whole car exchange… but there really are discrepancies… and I’m as curious to this as much as I’m curious wrt on-going case…

But then….. I really hope they provide an explanation for the discrepancies though…. Regardless of who is having the mental illness… like… esp the points I mentioned in the spoiler. I also really want to understand wot is on about the hotel room thing… hence why I tracked down the novel…. But…. There is no Eng translation and it’s not a webnovel, it’s a published book… had to collect bits and pieces via the web…

The on-going case I have no doubts it will be solved… it has been progressing well.

1. Like Pei Zhen and him…. She sent him signals but it seems like they both have contradicting memories on wot actually took place wrt his response….. I legit don’t think she was hallucinating though…. Wot took place in the room, fine, that was her deduction… but wot she said about him telling her if she divorced then he’d follow suit…. That’s……. 🤔
2. The slitting of FL’s wrist…. Hurmmmm…. Is he not hallucinating? She clearly doesn’t even have a scar… she was unscathed.

Guys and girls. Regardless… I still really liked this drama. Still looking forward to the ending, kinda counting down.
Everyone is so pissed at the FL (including me, kinda reminds me of some real life people I’ve met that have said the exact same things) but no one brought up like how the ML might have a psychological thing going on… 🤣

I still think it’s super good although there are so many eye-rolling moments. The lead actress really managed the role super well. She totally makes your blood boil, but at the same time puts one at awe when it comes to her commitment to work.

LOL! I noticed it was by Feng XiaoGang as well, defo surprised. It explains the whole cinematography… it’s shot like a movie.

Lol, no it’s the novel. The original novel was like that. Most of it from wot I could gather.

Lol. But the entire thing gives a dejavu feel…. like I’ve heard a similar story from a friend before… or I’ve heard similar words or scenario from someone before…. Which I always find so childish and self-centred.

I still can’t wait to see the last episode later… though from me hunting down the novel…. It looks like the ending will be quite open… though they did actually get a divorce, but I wasn’t able to suss out if he actually cheated.

I kinda respect the husband for not equally giving her back by constantly asking her if she actually loves him. Work as a reason only takes it that far, at some point it becomes an excuse. If it was me I’d just shut her up by asking why did she even ask for a divorce in the first place even when everything is just suspicion without proof. I don’t see her throwing all suspects into prison….. 🙄 super double-standards. Which fine, she admitted. But she’s being super unfair.

I swear Lee Dong Wook literally became better looking the past 2-3 yrs. like did he actually get micro-surgery on his face? Or is the change in hairstyle that big an impact? Or is it just men like him age like wine… coz he also looks quite different in Hotel King vs here…. Defo not weight related… 🤔🤔🤔

She really….. knows how to suffocate and drain a person…. Not even kidding. I mean wot kinda bullshit was she trying to justify when they were talking in the car….. She’s super self-centred.

Hence why I was surprised she asked for custody…. And the husband actually said the kid will be totally fine with her….. I was like that…. Is strange.

But I personally think she’s very…. Uhh… self-centred… I wouldn’t say she’s selfish per se… but she has this thing whereby she is lost in her own world and everything revolves around herself mostly… until she comes back to reality at times. Likely due to ego I spse. So she’s more like a dude which probably made her choose the profession…

Btw, I did some digging into the novel, wanted to try to read it but failed…. and the preview on iQiyi for the next 2 episodes… 😳 I’m legit super curious who that mysterious lady in the hotel is… coz, I don’t think…. He had an affair…

Yeap, couldn’t agree more… and hence why she admitted it… when she gave analogies to their 15 year relationship. She admitted that she has sort of fallen out of love with him. I don’t think she has 0 love for him anymore…. But then I also think she has gotten to the point whereby she’s completely fine without him… hence why she said…. Because I don’t love you anymore, hence there is completely 0 tolerance for any flaws. I actually think this is so true in any relationship/marriage…
I don’t think she realised it consciously until her husband actually blurted it out…. In a way…. This whole communication could have came earlier…. Then maybe…… there would be something left to salvage… coz…. I really don’t think it was the husband’s fault that she doesn’t really love him anymore… I think it was more of…. The leading individual and separate lives bit went on for too long….

Same… it’s so messed up but it’s the typical thing they are trying to achieve…. Makjang. 🤣🤣 but this one is a bit different, I like it coz it’s not youth/school bully driven…. Hurm…, I just hope they don’t overdo the whole revenge thing… not a fan of revenge themes.

Haha. I felt exactly the same. But it all disappears in Ep 2. I’m on Ep 3 now… I don’t know, it’s defo not strange or weird anymore but it’s another revenge thrillers again. I’m not a big fan of revenge themes…

I think it’s the guy on the run. I was quite surprised coz he was just too good of a narrator… so basically the guy who occupies the shop/storefront on the ground floor of her apartment. BUT… it could be the scenario whereby all the suspects are all in on it to some extent. So they unknowingly caused the butterfly effect thing which the FL quoted. No idea, but I’m defo very hooked onto this series… coz I wasn’t into any of the Light On series.

Because of one of the scenarios that the wife suspects…. He’s gotten himself into something worse than an affair.
Yea, initially I also thought he had to do with the murder but so far it looks……. Hurmmm, likely not….

I think right now it’s 50-50. He’s defo into something, yet to be seen if it’s an affair… though it looks like it but somehow I really think it could be something else coz the way the mysterious girl replies to the txt msgs are weird. And he’s always fully clothed, waiting for her. Not like in a bathrobe or something.

Never watched any other of Song Jia’s works… no idea who she was prior to this… but I really have to say she really fits this role, esp her physique. She really looks the part… Her hair, wardrobe… totally helped as well… like she’s so good. Switching from badass cop to suddenly her home life… interrogating suspects to suddenly confronting her spouse.. 👏🏻

Ep7&8 really hit it home esp for Asian marriages from the preceding generations…. I find it so ironic…. Because the dialogue is so realistic and relatable…..

“We, Parents not getting a divorce is for the sake of children”…. This statement itself is a paradox… because it’s incomplete and contains two opposing facts… they totally shouldn’t get a divorce for the sake of the children only IF they can fix it and IF there is love.

Also the FL’s self-reflection and admission on how she feels over the course of 15 yrs, the progression and unwanted changes were eerily realistic… communication is crucial… or maybe like they’ve highlighted; “love”… regardless of wot form it takes, is very important in a marriage. Love how they illustrated it with flashbacks… the way they did it emulates Wong Kar Wai’s movies…. 😍

Yeap that’s wot I meant she’s a different actress to the lady playing Pei Zhen.
