as someone whose favorite BL drama doesn’t even include a kiss scene (hence the pfp), the way NC scenes and kiss scenes are being talked about here, presumably in defense of the show, is grating on my nerves. personal opinion about the kiss scene today aside (but yea i liked it but found the editing mad distracting), the general idea that kissing or sex scenes are somehow separate from the plot, especially in a romance, doesn’t make sense. kissing, sex, and other physical intimacy are a part of a lot of romantic relationships, and in a romance that intimacy reveals building emotional connection and moves the story forward. not to mention, it’s literally a plot point that wsw is nervous about having sex with a man. it’s not gratuitous to show that. it’s relevant. framing caring about how these scenes are portrayed as fetishistic or morally wrong is, at best, unfair? these scenes are part of the story, which means it is completely valid to critique how they’re handled, just like any other aspect of the show. idk if it’s because i’m gay so extra sensitive about this stuff, but there’s something irritating about the way people jump to moral panic whenever queer intimacy is discussed. it’s giving there’s an underlying perception that gay sex is taboo and dirty and we should look away and not think too deeply about or enjoy it….

yeah i was more so confused about why wsw pretending to like cc in any context would be ok to him, whether it’s for money, to get back at an ex or anything else.

him being ok with wsw and dr jiang plotting bcs wsw needs help getting cc’s attention since he doesn’t have experience with men/ is “straight” but likes cc makes sense to me tho bcs it would mean wsw’s feelings are genuine

cc’s surprisingly quite the lover boy. he knows wsw been plotting and doesn’t gaf and was more or less pining over an ex for 6 years. when he’s in love he’s in LOVE fr lol

i hope they keep it simple on the upcoming eps 😭 like it was still nice but i really liked ep 5’s kiss bcs i was less distracted and could just appreciate their chemistry lol

listen i hate love triangles/quads im a super monogamous person, but i can’t lie the whole cast got chemistry bcs why did that 5 seconds of cc with dr jiang kinda eat in the ep 10 preview

my favourite scene is still ep 8 when cc saves wsw from being stabbed and he’s treating his bruise and scolding him for putting himself in danger and wsw has the cutest sweetest smile on his face when cc hugs him and then cc tells him he doesn’t have to do all this shit bcs he likes him no matter what and then wsw is like what if he lies and deceives him and cc is like id like you even more and then swivel thing he does with wsw legs AGGHHHHHH i need that scene projected on my forehead 24/7 it gives me butterflies just thinking about it, has me grinning like a fool in the middle of my work day

yeah the chances of being in a situation where my cat is a legitimate risk to someone’s life is slim especially since my cat is a geriatric old man lol but i was comparing the feelings

from what i remember da is like first and bao is like treasure/precious/baby. dabao is also the name of the lotion brand wsw is likes and gifted to cc in an earlier ep. so the name + the tagline of the brand being something like “see each other everyday” (i don’t remember exactly) and cc wanting to see wsw every day is why he calls him that. erbao is like second treasure/baby/precious.

you know what, cc’s ex aside and the symbolism of the snake representing him and their love, if i had to kill my cat to save someone’s life i’d hesitate too like that’s my baby 😭

i think (emphasis on think bcs i’m not sure i understand the snake plot lmaoo) bcs guo was doing his usual antagonizing chi cheng thing and was trying to take the snakes, hence the fight he started with chi cheng, wsw used the distraction of that fight to step in and save the snakes. he likes chi cheng for real, so he gets to look like the hero in chi cheng’s eyes. plus, i think he also gets to take back any snakes that were replaced (plot from last week where he was replacing chi cheng’s snakes with dupes so he could slowly get chi cheng’s snakes back) to earn his money back or something

i guess we’ll know for sure in the next couple of eps bcs that’s where the kisses and more should be happening
