not only the way cir looks at phu is different but his voice is so different too. this world’s cir’s voice is so soft when he talks to phu. in the last scene when he switches back and we hear that soft voice of his again i burst into tears ngl. great acting on boss’s part
according to one manager “posting announcements has a timeline” and “they can’t announce it without approval…
based on what i’ve seen (clips from the special ep, comments from ppl who watched, some thai backlash, yw responses to fans at the theatre etc) the spoilers are likely accurate, like the chances of a happy ending are less than 1% imo. i had more hope yesterday, thinking maybe they planned to add bonus scenes where it turns out joker is alive, but based on what has been said imo it looks like they started coordinating putting the ep online last minute (interfans were an afterthought what’s new lol), so i don’t think that’s likely (but i do think it’s still the most likely scenario for a happy ending). if it’s a prank to keep fans who didn’t watch in the dark, well its the most elaborate and well organized prank in history and id be pissed because i don’t like being emotionally manipulated
update: apparently yin’s mom said to look out for suspicious things in the ep while talking to a fan, so imo the chances of a happy ending as is are still slim but the chances of a part 2 or more scenes to come are a bit higher?? hopefully 🤞
according to one manager “posting announcements has a timeline” and “they can’t announce it without approval from partners“ but “they apologize for delays”. according to a couple of fans, more information may come after the ep airs in japan
*had to update this bcs the 2 deals that we will know more about tomorrow is actually for the berlin fanmeet
man i’m sorry but the more i think about the spoilers the more pissed i get— if it’s true that is and there’s no s2/pt2. like the series had some angst, but it was a happy ending, so i expected the special episode to be like most thai bl bonus episodes: lighthearted, showing the couple being together, nothing that drastically changes the story. that’s exactly how they marketed it too. so much leading up to the special ep focused on the wedding, it even lined up with thailand legalizing same-sex marriage, which was supposed to make jackjoke the first bl couple to have a legal wedding on screen. i genuinely thought it was gonna be this significant queer progress moment in thai bl for us to all celebrate then, bam, they kill off joke (allegedly).
if this had happened in the actual series, it would make sense to me, esp since his storyline did involve a life-and-death situation for a bit, but doing it in a bonus episode, after selling it as a fkn wedding, feels manipulative. it’s not even his death—it’s the way they baited us, making us think we’re getting jackjoke being a sweet couple, only to snatch that away from us in a BONUS ep (allegedly). that’s not emotional storytelling to me sorry; that’s shock value for shock value’s sake.
i’m gay, and one of the reasons i started watching thai bl and gl in the first place was to avoid the “bury your gays” trope. this happening (in such a deceptive way) in a space that has mostly been safe from that would feel like a slap in the face. i’m not saying tragedy in storytelling can’t be meaningful or even beautiful, but for me, it needs to feel earned. this doesn’t seem earned to me.
i don’t blame yw and don’t think they deserve hate or anything. they did their job, and they’ve been acting their asses off but the writers? they made a choice and i think it was a shitty one. they can definitely catch these hands.
i've seen some people saying that one of them dies, is that true?
tbh i agree the show had writing issues but for me the issues were kinda campy so i was having fun with it, especially since i enjoyed the acting, chemistry, and character’s personalities. from what we know of the special ep tho, the writing has cant be saved by those few positives o
i've seen some people saying that one of them dies, is that true?
same. joke was my baby. i became absolutely obsessed with war after i finished the series 😭 i haven’t cried this hard for a fictional character in a while
i've seen some people saying that one of them dies, is that true?
it’s so stupid and so unnecessary, and the fact that i can’t even watch it for myself online yet with no news of when i can watch is making even madder
i haven’t watched it, no. but based on fans’ reactions etc. and some clips of yw at the theatre. i’m less and less confident those spoilers aren’t true.
