according to the spoilers from fans, joke dies.

i started watching thai bl/gl series to avoid the “bury your gays” trope specifically so if the spoilers are true tbh i’m irritated af at a happy ending being ripped away from us last minute, especially when there was nothing in at the end of the actual series to suggest that would happen

yeah that’s what i was thinking too. not saying the series was a ball of fluff, but suddenly killing of the main character doesn’t really match the tone established in the series imo. killing him off in a special ep just feels random and a little lazy (like shock value for shock value’s sake). that makes me think there’s gotta be more to it, but idk.

it would be such a bait and switch to make us think the special ep is mostly about them getting married, even lining it up to when gay marriage is legal in thailand, to only kill him off in the end…it makes zero sense to me too, but it’s seems like that’ the case. my only hope is that the there will be more scenes in the online version that undo that mess.

i was hoping for that too, but seeing some of the clips of yin and war and the fans’ comments are making me think less and less that’s the case 😃 but there’s always a small hope i guess, because it really does seem stupid to kill of a major character in a special episode to me

that’s what i saw too online, or to be more specific they never find the body of joker. if it is true, they can keep the special ep actually and i think that’s a dumb way to end a series that ended perfectly fine

some of y’all are too uncomfortable with uncertainty. yeah it’s a little confusing since we don’t quite know what’s happening or what will happen, that’s the point tho. if you think this is bad, interview with the vampire would give y’all a conniption since that involves some serious and prolonged unreliable narration lmao

tbh since they are both virgins i was expecting a bit more foreplay or fumbling lol. i blinked and suddenly knees were in the air, but i also don’t really care. nc scenes are a bonus not a necessity to me

i was like oh so he is completely just a stalker then, and then the ending happened to make me question things all over again. i love it. i love the mystery!

not necessarily. internalized homophobia can make you rationalize things that don’t make sense. just some the things he said during his abusive rant made me wonder but we’ll see. like you said, we have different opinions and that’s fine

i might just be projecting on her but i sorta felt like she couldn’t fathom really wanting to fuck a man and that’s why it was so appalling to her (bcs she’s gay) and i almost felt like there was resentment that he recognized and acted on his queerness while she doesn’t but idk. I feel like fujisawa also has internalized homophobia but he’s a piece of shit rapist abuser so I don’t have even a a hint of sympathy for him

i literally want fujisawa to fall off a cliff and die. i hope that’s what happens next episode, as unlikely as that is.

the first couple of eps, i wasn’t sure if he was asexual, impotent, or just straight, but now it’s crystal clear it’s always been about control. even his talk about moving and sei quitting his job is more control and isolating tactics. god i hate him.


the gf on the other hand, i feel almost bad for. at first, during their talk, i was annoyed that she was so fixated on him cheating on her with a guy like what difference does the gender make but now im feeling like she might just be gay and experiencing like an internalized homophobia comphet thing

he hasn’t done anything that he needs to be arrested for or even fired for…(yet?), but he’s done and said things that are inappropriate. you don’t meet your high school student on-one-one at a restaurant for no clear academic reason (e.g., tutoring that his parents are aware of and have consented to, and even that is a little ehh bcs of the setting). it’s unprofessional and messy. i’ve been in education for a hot minute now, and there are so many little things he does and says that are just a big no.

unless woohyun is completely delulu and making up conversations and events that never happened, then that’s different lol

one of the first lines the teacher says in the show when explaining why he’s still at the pier is “i get to look at you”. that’s inappropriate. then when he was lending woohyun his books but forgot one, he has him meet him at a restaurant alone on the weekend instead of just waiting until the next school day. if it was that important why not meet in front of the school for a quick pass off? a one-on-one meeting at a restaurant/cafe is unnecessarily intimate considering they’re teacher and student, not peers, not friends. he has said things like “i only do this for you/because it’s you”, which again is too intimate and an incredibly inappropriate thing to say that is reminiscent of grooming tactics tbh— special treatment (not saying it’s definitively grooming here). and later on, just bcs he ran into woohyun on the street doesn’t mean he needs to go eat with him one-on-one. what’s the academic purpose of that? it’s too personal. if he wants to sit down and advise/talk to him, he can do that at school. students and teachers need boundaries. they’re not supposed to have intimate interactions or be “friends”, especially when the students are minors.
