About the ending I think the game was a coma dream none of the characters were real, he loved his dream so much that he chose to live in it for the rest of his life that's sad and depressing it's similar to people having mental issues and living in their own worlds I can understand the logic behind his obsession though because I dreamt very vivid dreams before and thought about my dream characters for days affecting me so much emotionally but to live in that state for fifty years is a too long and lonely life
