Phob's situation can be understood without excusing what he did to Tin. And honestly after this week's episode I think the tragedy is that Phob's intentions and his actions are two completely different things. Phob is fighting for something much bigger than himself. I can understand why he believes the revolution has to come first and why he feels he can't allow his feelings for Tin to interfere. But Tin wasn't some random civilian caught in the crossfire. Phob deliberately made him part of the operation. That's where I struggle to defend him 🫤 The part that really hurts is that Tin made life changing choices based on what he believed was a real relationship. I mean, he took a bullet for Phob, trusted him, chose to run away with him. And then he discovers that the person he trusted was withholding the truth and manipulating him for information 😞 So right now Tin is not just dealing with "the man I love betrayed me" He's also thinking "was any of it real" and that's brutal 😢 because Phob can say that his feelings for Tin were genuine and I actually think they were but from Tin's perspective, how is he supposed to separate love from manipulation?! That's why I think Tin's guilt is particularly heartbreaking. He's feeling responsibility for things that were never really his burden to carry. He thinks he's the one who unknowingly helped Phob bring down his family. He's thinking now his family is suffering because of his choices 😔 The real issue here isn't just the fact that Phob lied, it's that he decided what Tin is allowed to know. Tin should've been given the chance to make his own decision whether he wants to be involved. If Phob had told him the truth and Tin still chose to help it would've been a completely different story. Yet here we are and I can't help but wonder, how are they going to find their way back to each other after all this 😞
