It's much more complicated than you think. I've never watched Cdramas before but then something like the untamed and Kill to Love came out and I got hooked. Some of those Chinese stories are very well written so not only it's worth watching but you'd want to support your favourite artist as well. On the other hand, No One should ever suffer the same fate as poor Yu Menglong! so what do you do?!

But when he found out Shu Lang was dating a guy he said "well I guess no one is perfect" it's the type of comment that someone will make when they don't fully accept same sex relationships as normal. what is Hua country? is it a fictional place? did the first car accident happen in Thailand or Hua country? what about the hospital incident? If the events are taking place in Thailand why is everyone speaking Mandarin? sorry I got confused with locations Is Xiao Chinese on his mother's side and Thai on his father's or is it the other way around 🤔 because his siblings were calling him "illegitimate" so I assumed he's the mistresses son I only wish they would stop sensualising smoking cigarettes because it's a nasty habit. I would've thought we'd left that in the 80s where it belonged.
