The cinematography director deserves a raise. They did the best to film the battle scenes to look good when the budget clearly didn't stretch that far. The dramatic scenes were also shot well, with different angles and dominating colour to indicate mood and emotion.
The scene where their status has changed with Mingyi Swa kneeling to offer a King's greeting to Nared and Nared protesting shows how far they've come and that time is merciless. Nared's ascendancy contrasts with MS's powerlessness not only because of duty to his country and filial piety to his father, but his inability to be cruel enough to break free from his fate. My poor, tragic crown prince😭
From the preview, I am wondering if they are trying to make me suspect Minggyi Swa of taking a complete 180. I…
I haven't seen the preview but I think Mingyi Swa is faking it. Remember that line from the very first ep? Nared says "Whatever other people may say, only I know what's in your heart."
Ep.9: I'm glad they added the supernatural aspect into the story because it makes sense not only considering the time period but the nature of Kings and ancient beliefs which persist to this day.
The most unnerving part of this show which is quite frankly frustrating is the fact that it’s set in the modern…
Of course they do. Look at the British royal family and their restrictions. Or the Japanese Imperial family. Being royalty means being constrained. Else we'd be watching something like the Kardashians.
Ep.4: The highlight of this episode is the Grand Prince's facial expressions. The way he can't help but react to her actions: smiling, laughing, pouting, etc. It's gradual but it shows the way he slowly falls in love with her.
It's good the way this drama shows the restrictions, framework, and the facade the royal family have to perform being members of it. Not a rosy Cinderella story here.
If anyone other than IU played this role, it wouldn't work. The character would either be too obnoxious or too arrogant. But she pulls off the right balance of vulnerability and strength for a woman who had to fight her way to the top and is intent on reaching the summit.
Classic love declaration, whether platonic or otherwise. Asian-style. Anyone who's seen Chinese dramas or Japanese anime will know instantly XD
But I completely agree with you.
The acting was superb and every line of dialogue stabs right into the heart!
