This is not my preferred genre but the leads are so cute together. Plus Seong Hui Ju is too entertaining as a character XD

Feels like a low budget drama. Plot set-up feels choppy. The dog is adorable though.

The micro-expressions of slowly dawning horror, shock, and sorrow on Naphat's face when he as MS realised what his father had done was an excellent piece of acting.

There's a silent melancholy around Mingyi Swa because he has sufficient self-awareness to see his family members as they truly are. It's why he cherishes his bond with Nared so much, constantly shielding him from danger without a word of complaint.

Very much looking forward to this.

After all the effort Mingyi Swa made to bring his broken army home, his father orders all the soldiers whipped and have their ears cut off. I bet many simply died from their wounds. How horrifying. Nanda Bayin is such a monster.

This drama was never marketed as BL from the start. Repeated statements by everyone involved denied the BL. So this seems to be fans creating trouble. I bet if this drama wasn't a huge success, there wouldn't be a peep out of them.

Rewatch: the younger brothers are so different. Minye Kyawswa seems jealous of his older brother and loves to cause him trouble, while Ekathotsarot is the one supporting his older brother and going along with all his plans.

Following the dissemination of information and allegations on social media concerning the "Hongsawadi" series, alleging plagiarism or adaptation of the comic "Ayutthaya Eyawadi," Channel One 31 would like to clarify the facts for accurate understanding as follows:

Channel One 31 would like to clarify that after the "Mae Yiu" series aired, Channel One 31 discussed with Ms. Sirilak Srisukon, the scriptwriter, to continue writing a story set in the Ayutthaya period. Ms. Sirilak suggested the story of King Naresuan and the Crown Prince. Although they were destined to engage in a duel, the fact that King Naresuan was taken captive to Hongsawadi at a young age makes it possible that the two were close. Furthermore, after the duel, there is a legend of building a stupa for the Crown Prince, which is unusual for an enemy. Therefore, it is believed that the two had a bond since childhood, not just were enemies. Thus, the idea arose to adapt events from that historical period into the series. Let's tell the story from another perspective (similar to the approach taken with "Mae Yiu"), that if the two monarchs were close friends, like siblings, but ultimately had to fight each other for their respective lands, it would be a very interesting topic because it presents a human drama issue. Channel One 31 approved this project.

Ms. Sirilak then continued to develop this project and conducted further research, adhering to the important principle of appropriate interpretation, as it concerns real historical figures, which is sensitive in terms of beliefs and respect. She found the animated series "Ayutthaya Eyawadi," which had some concepts similar to the historical information about King Naresuan and Prince Maha Uparaja. Channel One 31 then assigned Ms. Sirilak to contact the creators of "Ayutthaya Eyawadi" to inform them of their intention to develop a similar project based on the historical events of King Naresuan and Prince Maha Uparaja, and to negotiate purchasing the copyright from the animated series creators to avoid future problems, even though Channel One 31 will not be producing the series based on the animated story. "Ayutthaya Eeyawadi" is also included, which the cartoon creators are pleased to acknowledge.

However, the cartoon is a fictional interpretation in a parallel world and presents a same-sex relationship, while the series "Hongsawadi" refers to real historical figures. Therefore, the interpretation must be within appropriate boundaries, considering sensitivities in many dimensions. The presentation must be done with the utmost caution and respect, which the creators of the "Ayutthaya Eeyawadi" cartoon understand and acknowledge.

When the cartoon creators learned that Channel One 31 would not use the name and storyline from the cartoon, it was agreed that there would be no need for a copyright sale, and compensation for the time spent on discussions has been settled. Exactly. It should be between the comic creator and the production company. Instead this social media tactic which this person used: post a carefully worded statement with a hidden barb, pick a time like Songkran holiday when the drama is on hiatus and people are on vacation so they have lots of free time, and then sit back and watch the fans go crazy interpreting their words and fighting for them, while they sit back and relax and gain lots of sympathy. Win-Win situation for them.

Now this not only negatively impacts the drama's reputation and marketing overseas but also damaged the two lead actors who have now been dragged into this. Does anyone need to wonder why BL fandom/fans have such a bad reputation?

OneD has posted an official statement which is in line with what we were saying here. Honestly, any sensible person would have known.

The romance genre is pretty cliche and doesn't allow for nuanced acting. New fans might have to wait for new projects.

I might need to check his previous work even though he said this role was his best yet.

Re-watching on OneD's website with HD and the video is not as dark as YT. I'm appreciating the details of accessories and patterns on the clothes. They must have sourced a ton from India.

I don't know the team behind the drama so I will not be joining you in calling them names. As for "stealing", if you want to accuse someone of plagiarism then evidence must be provided. This means the same visual scenes and/or dialogue lifted verbatim from the comic to prove the case. Legally speaking, inspiration is not copyrighted nor a strong enough claim to sue someone in court. I read the comic and own the physical volumes and can say they only share characters and same historical period. Hell, even the character of Nared and Mingyi Swa are different from their portrayal in this drama.

I saw the posts where the scriptwriter tried to downplay the shipping and suggestive BL comments and she wasn't insulting them. It's a wise precaution considering the character involved was Phra Naresuan. You talk as if you don't know what the laws are like in Thailand.

It seems the comic creator is upset about "being tricked about the compensation" since she didn't mention her work was being copied and regardless of what happened between them, I find the timing to be suspicious.

It's easier to troll people on social media because that creates the biggest noise and grabs attention. Being calm and reasonable is not as flashy.

I've seen the posts by her fans who want the drama banned. In the end this will only result in confirming BL fans' image as unhinged to the general public and ensure no drama like HTLD will be filmed again. because no platform/investors want the risk or bad publicity.

As for queer-baiting, most of them don't know the meaning of the term and just use it casually.
