It's not the 40 eps. It's the way the writing didn't include subplots and foreshadowing in the first 20 eps and left it all to the last 5 episodes. That's lazy.

I think it's bad writing and the fact there aren't enough eps left.

There is talk of them being offered main roles for a drama. So let's hope it pans out

Deng Kai's acting is so good in this role. The director knows how to get the best angles too
