Since I was asked about this, yes offal is eaten as well as blood. It's an acquired taste and personally I don't like it but some do. ML being a noble is doing a good job of not vomiting when he heard what was in the dish XD
Watched the first five eps and it's great. The cinematography, OST, and flashbacks are all beautiful and transition smoothly from scene to scene. I was a bit worried about Tian Xi Wei but she's perfect here and her acting doesn't feel annoying or artificial. I'm looking forward to watching more favourite scenes from the novel being depicted in the drama.
Kudos to the director and the team. It's much better than I hoped.
PS: at least TXW is believable as a girl with martial arts and later a fighter in the army. Unlike another drama where I couldn't suspend my disbelief.
Excellent drama with a tight script and good cast. It deals with some heavy themes but manages to do so with sense and empathy, instead of playing the blame game. Deuk Pal is an endearing character and the main draw.
This so bad that there are no words to describe it. For an ORV fan, this adaptation is unrecognizable. For a casual viewer, it's a bad movie with mediocre acting and worse CG and action scenes with a poorly explained plot. Don't bother wasting 2 hours to watch it.
FL and ML's love and allegiances are put to the test. A whole debate on a woman's lack of power in a male dominated society aka Yang Yun's tragic life. The implications that so many officials are involved in the cover up and the inherent risks.
Then we get the Rong side with the Grandmother angry and ready to replace ShanBao with someone else because the Clan is what matters and not one granddaughter. Only the chosen granddaughter this time seems to have her own agenda.
I'm glad to be rid of the Wen Cousin who shows zero remorse for all the things he did, despite FL telling him from the beginning that she had no interest in him.
