That's why I said he is a grey character. Some of his actions are questionable. He had no right to interfere with her memories in any way, not even the mirror

And apparently if TSJ didnot reach there and try to control the situation, XY would have probably died there. XL was a bit late to that situation although ultimately, it was XL who saved her life.
Another incident to reinforce that TSJ always reached her before anyone else :<

XL was definitely the one who empowered her but she never saw it that way I suppose, otherwise she is not a stupid person. How could she not know his feelings for her then

I remember a scene where she is telling CX that her heart was in a dark place before CX met her in Qingshui Town and 'he' helped heal it. Correct me if this 'he' is not TSJ? I probably don't remember clearly that scene

He is a grey character. Technically if XY remembered him, she would always carry some feelings of guilt towards him which would be an insult to his selfless love. How could he, being a nine-headed demon, not understand this.

And TSJ and XY both put in that work specially TSJ. He sent wine to her, was always kind of present somewhere in the vicinity when she was with FFB/XL. XY also tried to keep her promise to TSJ and refused to kiss XL underwater and her feelings for TSJ were not even deep at that point since it was pretty early in the story.

For XY, it was companionship with YSQ that gradually turned into love. Even she learnt to trust him as well after her conversation with Tian'er.

Alas!! XL was such a great character. He needed his own story as this was not his. Author had created such a complex character, more complicated than Jing or CX and then placed him below the others

I believe it didn't happen for her. She consciously "chose" to love TSJ. He was the only character who could relate to her trauma plus pull her out of the dark place she was in.

The torture that TSJ suffered at the hands of TSH brought him to XY and became a point of commonality for both XY and TSJ. At the same tim, his family background as young wealthy lord of Tushan family allowed him to retain his kind character since the torture was the only adverse thing that happened to him. Before this, his life was smooth sailing. His kind and devoted character attracted XY. He became the safest choice for her to entrust her heart to.

People deserve to see justice in the fictional world at least. To top it off, it's a xianxia. Anything can happen as long as author wills

Yeah and then her reaction on XL's death was much subdued as compared to the novel. I guess it was deliberate

Romance wise CX was never in the game so TSJ became ML and XL became SML.

His character was the most complex and deepest. Ofc she wouldn't want to change it
