Welcome ♥️♥️. I am glad to help you & i felt similar like you initially but the more i thought about their personality the more i understood that writer is just showing different povs of our main leads & how their ideologies clash throughout the drama
spoiler warning for episode 16-19. i’m currently at the part where we learn about ML father and why he did what…
I think dfqc didn't kick the ball at the end which showed to me he is not willing to forgive him for everything. The drama doesn't show that father was misunderstood. It just simply show us perspective of both main leads. Orchid is someone who is hopeful, naive & optimistic type & had no parents so she didn't understand that a father can be evil. But then later when she learns the reality, she still tries for him to reconcile because she don't want him to feel guilty for killing his father. With dfqc, he is getting all his emotions back at that moment after not feeling anything for thousands of years. He felt anger, anguish, hatred, love, sadness & pain all at the same time. When i was watching this scene, i was angry at orchid but i understood that this is her psychology or how she views the world & parental love. What was most imp for me is to see dfqc answer because if he forgave his father like he did nothing wrong then it would have been wrong message. That's why i love that scene when he didn't kick the ball because even though it is his father & in his heart somewhere, he still don't despise him completely, he isn't ready to completely forgive him. About that scene of him saying "i don't blame him anymore" is more about dfqc accepting that he killed his father & facing that reality & coming to terms with it instead of feeling guilty. He used to despise his father & he still have mixed feelings about him (hence he didn't kick the ball) but he is now moving forward instead of holding grudge against him. It's more about how sometimes victims wants to move on from their hatred for their own peace of mind but still don't completely forgive their abusers. This is how i view this scene
Because wang hedi is busy shooting another drama & they are still working on script. To get s2, they need all the cast available at the same time so it needs to be planned in advance
It is top 5 summer dramas for tencent so you are right. Litchi road flopped for tencent but overall summer period is bad for them so it is in top 5 summer dramas list. The glory did well but it's not a summer season drama. It was released in Q1 of the year
Seriously? And when the drama aired, it seemed like it passed most people by...
I think the more whd is rising, the more antis he is gaining. After dafeng, he is already doing another S+ budget male centric drama so his fans are most of the time defending him as much as they can but they can't fight everyone when too many rival fds are united in hating him so you might have seen more negative things about him. However, i do believe he is still loved a lot outside of cdrama circle especially those who know him as Doaming si from meteor garden but they don't watch costume historical dramas & only idol romcom so not many are aware about it. Also alot of people in china are now catching up to this drama & apologizing for believing paid marketing accounts that he can't act. Alot of them are changing their opinion on him after watching the drama & asking for s2 so i am glad people are finally acknowledging his talent. He also trended top 1 on weibo when last few eps aired & it wasn't because of his pretty face. The top 1 hotsearch was "wang hedi acting being good" & everyone was praising him

That video has been reported by fans for lying & clickbaiting. There are many channels who also lie that wang hedi is married & have kids which is false. Youtube is the last place i go for honest reporting because these channels spread such narratives without any source. You can check @cdramacharts on x for valid reporting with source. They post about views, social media hype & tv ratings in china. Also most international audience only care for idol romcoms so it won't generate same level of hype internationally as something like the first frost which did okay/decent in china but more popular internationally. In china, top dramas are mostly male centric dramas or thriller this year like under the skin, drifting away, Guardians of the dafeng & legend of zanghai. I cannot share images here otherwise i can show you list of top 10 dramas in china which i have taken directly from chinese platforms like yunhe for checking their views
Okay I binged watched from ep 4-8 today so dumping all my thoughts: Firstly, i am actually loving the cute & bubbly personality of He Yan. Idk how she is in novel but i think her being funny & ml being serious makes their dynamic more interesting & i am invested to see how their relationship will develop. I really liked that lantern scene & so far i am surprisingly never bored which is a good thing. There are some flaws which i mentioned previously & story is nothing too groundbreaking but i am entertained
I've just finished episode 2. And I agree with you. It's fun and entertaining. But it's not believable. I'll try…
That's the best strategy to enjoy cdramas. Don't question the logic & enjoy the ride because most of the times drama teams had to make changes to pass censorship etc so i understand if it doesn't come across well detailed
Too much suspension of disbelief especially the fact that they allowed her to wore the mask & didn't question her identity like for all we know it can be enemy soldier in disguise, plus the switch with the brother & no one noticed that height & voice difference is kinda absurd. But i will say so far 3 ep s in & it's an entertaining watch if i switch off my brain & don't question the logic. I was expecting darker tone but it's surprisingly more lighthearted tone so far & eps went by quickly & i am not bored
